        Accuracy of cardiac output measurements during off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting: according to the vessel anastomosis sites

        Background: During beating heart surgery, the accuracy of cardiac output (CO) measurement techniques may be influenced by several factors. This study was conducted to analyze the clinical agreement among stat CO mode (SCO), continuous CO mode (CCO), arterial pressure waveform-based CO estimation (APCO), and transesophageal Doppler ultrasound technique (UCCO) according to the vessel anastomosis sites. Methods: This study was prospectively performed in 25 patients who would be undergoing elective OPCAB. Hemodynamic variables were recorded at the following time points: during left anterior descending (LAD) anastomosis at 1 min and 5 min; during obtuse marginal (OM) anastomosis at 1 min and 5 min: and during right coronary artery (RCA) anastomosis at 1 min and 5 min. The variables measured including the SCO, CCO, APCO, and UCCO. Results: CO measurement techniques showed different correlations according to vessel anastomosis site. However, the percent error observed was higher than the value of 30% postulated by the criteria of Critchley and Critchley during all study periods for all CO measurement techniques. Conclusions: In the beating heart procedure, SCO, CCO and APCO showed different correlations according to the vessel anastomosis sites and did not agree with UCCO. CO values from the various measurement techniques should be interpreted with caution during OPCAB.         가압가열 및 Microwave 처리가 생면의 품질에 미치는 영향

        중력분을 이용하여 제면한 후 가압가열, microwave 및 가압가열과 microwave 병행 처리한 후, 생면 및 삶은 면의 품질에 미치는 영향에 대하여 알아보았다. 생면의 pH는 microwave 1 min 처리구에서 무처리구와 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았으며, 수분 함량은 autoclave 50 min 처리구에서 무처리구와 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았고, 그 외의 처리구에서는 모두 수분 함량이 감소함을 확인하였다. 면의 색도 측정 결과는 명도는 무처리구에 비해 모든 처리구에서 감소하였으며, 적색도는 microwave 1 min 처리구는 감소한 반면, 나머지 처리구는 증가하였다. 황색도는 autoclave 50 min 처리구와 autoclave 50 min/microwave 1 min 병행 처리구에서 증가한 반면, 나머지 물리적 처리구에서는 감소하였다. 삶은 면의 색도에서는 명도, 적색도, 황색도 모두에서 무처리구에 비하여 물리적 처리구에서 증가한 값을 나타내었다. 물성 측정 결과는 경도, 부착성, 응집성, 검성, 복원성에서 무처리구와 비교시 microwave 1 min 처리구는 유의적으로 감소하였으며, 그 외 처리구에서는 유의적으로 증가한 값을 나타내었다. 탄력성과 전단력은 모든 처리구에서 유의적으로 증가하였으며, 인장력은 가압가열 30 min 처리구와 무처리구가 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 나머지 물리적 처리구에서는 유의적으로 증가하였다. 관능 평가 결과는 생면의 경우 색 항목에서 물리적 처리구들이 유의적으로 낮은 점수를 받았다. 맛, 질감, 향 항목에서는 무처리구와 물리적 처리구간 유의적 차이를 보이지 않았다. 전체적인 기호도에서는 microwave 1 min 처리구가 가장 높은 점수를 얻었으며, 가압가열(50 min)과 microwave(1 min) 병행 처리구는 무처리구와 비슷한 점수를 얻었다. 따라서 제면 후 가압가열 및 microwave 처리가 생면 및 삶은 면에 있어서 색과 질감 항목을 보완, 개선시킨다면 알러겐성이 저감화된 면을 제품화하는데 적합할 것으로 사료되어진다. This study was conducted to determine the effects of physical treatments for quality of wet noodles. Noodles were being tried with a microwave (for 1 min), an autoclave (for 30 or 50 min), and both autoclave and microwave (for 30/1 min or 50/1 min). The results showed that the pH levels were slightly decreased after treatments of autoclave and autoclave/microwave. The moisture contents were considerably decreased as compared to the control except autoclave (50 min). After all treatments, the lightness was decreased in all samples, but, redness was increased (except microwave) and the yellowness was increased after autoclave (50 min) and autoclave/microwave (50/1 min). Texture was increased as compared to the control except microwave. In the sensory evaluation, the noodles treated with microwave, autoclave (50 min), and autoclave/ microwave (50/1 min) showed a high score in overall preference. From these results, both the autoclave and microwave methods can be applied to the wet noodles without diminishing its quality to a great extent.

        가압가열 및 Microwave 처리에 의한 중력분 Gliadin의 항원성 변화

        본 연구에서는 가압가열 및 microwave 처리가 gliadin의 항원성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 중력분에 가압가열과 microwave를 단독 또는 병행으로 처리하여 Ci-ELISA, SDS-PAGE 및 immunoblotting을 실시하였다. 가압가열 처리의 경우, 처리 시간이 길어질수록 IgG와의 결합력이 감소하였으며, 특히 50분 처리구에서 약 69%로 가장 낮은 결합력을 보였다. 또한 SDS-PAGE와 immunoblotting 결과에서도 무처리구에서 강하게 보였던 gliadin band가 처리에 의해 거의 소실되고 항체와 반응하지 않았다. 가압가열 및 microwave를 병행 처리한 경우도 마찬가지로 gliadin의 결합력이 다소 감소하였으며, 처리구 중에서는 가압가열 50분, microwave 5분 처리구에서 약 73%로 가장 낮은 결합력을 보였다. 반면 microwave를 단독으로 처리하였을 때에는 일부 단백질의 변화는 관찰되었으나 항원성 감소에는 큰 영향을 미치지 않았다. 이상의 결과를 통해 가압가열을 단독 처리에 의해 gliadin의 항원성이 다소 감소되었으며, microwave 병행 처리에 의한 차이는 크게 나타나지 않은 것을 확인하였다. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of physical treatments on the antigenicity of gliadin in medium wheat flour. The wheat flour was treated with an autoclave (5, 10, 30, 50 min), a microwave (1, 5, 10 min), and both (10, 30, 50 min/ 5, 10 min), and investigated by SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting and Ci-ELISA using anti-gliadin IgG. The results showed that the binding ability of anti-gliadin IgG to gliadin in wheat flour was slightly decreased when autoclaved or when autoclaved and microwaved. Especially, it was reduced to about 69% after autoclaving for 50 min and 73% after autoclaving for 50 min and microwaving for 5 min. In addition, gliadin bands in the 50 min autoclaved group disappeared in both SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting. On the other hand, the antigenicity of gliadin was unaffected by microwaving alone. Consequently, there were no considerable changes in using an autoclave alone or in combination with a microwave. These results suggest that autoclaving may affect the reduction of the antigenicity of gliadin in medium wheat flour.

        물리적 처리에 의한 강력분 밀가루 Gliadin의 항원성 변화

        본 연구에서는 가압가열 및 microwave 처리가 gliadin의 항원성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 강력분에 가압가열과 microwave를 단독 또는 병행으로 처리하여 Ci-ELISA, SDS-PAGE 및 immunoblotting을 실시하였다. 가압가열 처리의 경우 시간이 길어질수록 IgG와의 결합력이 감소하였으며, 특히 50분 처리구에서 약 87%로 가장 낮은 결합력을 보였다. 또한 SDS-PAGE와 immunoblotting 결과에서도 무처리구에서 강하게 보였던 gliadin band가 가압가열처리에 의해 거의 소실되고 항체와 반응하지 않았다. 가압가열 및 microwave를 병행 처리 시도 마찬가지로 gliadin의 결합력이 감소하였으며, 처리구 중 가압가열 50분, microwave 5분 처리구에서 약 93%로 가장 낮은 결합력을 보였다. 반면 microwave를 단독으로 처리한 경우에는 일부 단백질의 변화는 관찰되었으나, 항원성 감소에는 효과가 없음을 확인하여 단백질 변화가 항원성에는 큰 효과를 준 것 같지 않다. 이상의 결과를 통해 가압가열 단독 처리 및 가압가열 및 microwave의 병행처리 시 gliadin의 항원성이 감소함을 확인하였다. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of physical treatments on the antigenicity of gliadin in strong wheat flour. Strong wheat flour was treated with an autoclave (5, 10, 30, 50 min), a microwave (1, 5, 10 min), or both (10, 30, 50 min/ 5, 10 min), followed by SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting, and Ci-ELISA using anti-gliadin IgG. The results indicated that the binding ability of IgG to gliadin in strong wheat flour slightly decreased after autoclaving or autoclaving/microwaving. In particular, the binding ability was reduced to about 87% after autoclaving for 50 min and to 89% after autoclaving/microwaving (50/5 min). In addition, gliadin bands in the 50 min autoclaved group disappeared in both SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting. On the other hand, the antigenicity of gliadin was unaffected by microwaving alone. In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that autoclaving may reduce the antigenicity of gliadin in strong wheat flour.

      • Comparative evaluation of the algorithms for parametric mapping of the novel myocardial PET imaging agent <sup>18</sup> F-FPTP

        <P><B>Objective</B></P><P>(<SUP>18</SUP>F-fluoropentyl)triphenylphosphonium salt (<SUP>18</SUP>F-FPTP) is a new promising myocardial PET imaging tracer. It shows high accumulation in cardiomyocytes and rapid clearance from liver. We performed compartmental analysis of <SUP>18</SUP>F-FPTP PET images in rat and evaluated two linear analyses: linear least-squares (LLS) and a basis function method (BFM) for generating parametric images. The minimum dynamic scan duration for kinetic analysis was also investigated and computer simulation undertaken.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P><SUP>18</SUP>F-FPTP dynamic PET (18 min) and CT images were acquired from rats with myocardial infarction (MI) (<I>n</I> = 12). Regions of interest (ROIs) were on the left ventricle, normal myocardium, and MI region. Two-compartment (<I>K</I><SUB>1</SUB> and <I>k</I><SUB>2</SUB>; 2C2P) and three-compartment (<I>K</I><SUB>1</SUB>–<I>k</I><SUB>3</SUB>; 3C3P) models with irreversible uptake were compared for goodness-of-fit. Partial volume and spillover correction terms (<I>V</I><SUB><I>a</I></SUB> and <I>α</I> = 1 − <I>V</I><SUB><I>a</I></SUB>) were also incorporated. LLS and BFM were applied to ROI- and voxel-based kinetic parameter estimations. Results were compared with the standard ROI-based nonlinear least-squares (NLS) results of the corresponding compartment model. A simulation explored statistical properties of the estimation methods.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>The 2C2P model was most suitable for describing <SUP>18</SUP>F-FPTP kinetics. Average <I>K</I><SUB>1</SUB>, <I>k</I><SUB>2</SUB>, and <I>V</I><SUB><I>a</I></SUB> values were, respectively, 6.8 (ml/min/g), 1.1 (min<SUP>−1</SUP>), and 0.44 in normal myocardium and 1.4 (ml/min/g), 1.1 (min<SUP>−1</SUP>), and 0.32, in MI tissue. Ten minutes of data was sufficient for the estimation. LLS and BFM estimations correlated well with NLS values for the ROI level (<I>K</I><SUB>1</SUB>: <I>y</I> = 1.06<I>x</I> + 0.13, <I>r</I><SUP><I>2</I></SUP> = 0.96 and <I>y</I> = 1.13<I>x</I> + 0.08, <I>r</I><SUP><I>2</I></SUP> = 0.97) and voxel level (<I>K</I><SUB>1</SUB>: <I>y</I> = 1.22<I>x</I> − 0.30, <I>r</I><SUP><I>2</I></SUP> = 0.90 and <I>y</I> = 1.26<I>x</I> + 0.00, <I>r</I><SUP><I>2</I></SUP> = 0.92). Regional distribution of kinetic parametric images (<I>αK</I><SUB>1</SUB>, <I>K</I><SUB>1</SUB>, <I>k</I><SUB>2</SUB>, <I>V</I><SUB>a</SUB>) was physiologically relevant. LLS and BFM showed more robust characteristics than NLS in the simulation.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>Fast kinetics and highly specific uptake of <SUP>18</SUP>F-FPTP by myocardium enabled quantitative analysis with the 2C2P model using only the initial 10 min of data. LLS and BFM were feasible for estimating voxel-wise parameters. These two methods will be useful for quantitative evaluation of <SUP>18</SUP>F-FPTP distribution in myocardium and in further studies with different conditions, disease models, and species.</P><P><B>Electronic supplementary material</B></P><P>The online version of this article (doi:10.1007/s12149-017-1171-6) contains supplementary material, which is available to authorized users.</P>

      • Subcritical water extraction (SWE) of anthocyanin from blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum)

        Subcritical water extraction (SWE) is an eco-friendly new extraction technology because it does not contain harmful organic solvent and has high extraction efficiency in a short time compared with conventional extraction methods. Blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum) are widely known as superfood due to rich source of anthocyanin (malvidin-3-o-galgctoside) and antioxidant activity. In this study, optimal extraction condition of SWE from blueberries was determined and compared with the conventional extraction methods. SWE was carried out using a Dionex Accelerated Solvent Extractor (ASE, Model 350) under conditions of temperatures (110, 130, 150 and 170°C) and times (1, 3, 5 and 10 min). Total anthocyanin of SWE extracts was compared with hot water (60°C, 1 h) extract and pressed juice extract. The total anthocyanin content was determined by pH differential method. Considering both the extraction time and temperature conditions, the highest content of total anthocyanin content was 0.455 mg/g FW Vaccinium corymbosum at 130°C for 3 min. At high temperature and long extraction time, the anthocyanin in the blueberries will undergo thermal degradation due to low stability of anthocyanin at extreme condition. Besides, maximum yield of anthocyanin from blueberries using SWE was about 1.2 and 3.8 times more higher than hot water extract and pressed juice extract, respectively. Therefore, SWE is faster and more efficient method to extract anthocyanin from blueberries than conventional extraction methods. This study shows a possibility of SWE applied to food processing industry.

        중·소형 회계법인의 합병이 감사품질에 미치는 영향

        [연구목적] 본 연구의 목적은 중·소형 회계법인의 합병이 감사품질에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 검증하고자 한다. 우리나라는 회계투명성을 높이기 위해 2019년도부터 감사인 등록제를 전격 시행하였으며, 회계법인 시장에서는 이에 대비하여 중·소형 회계법인 간 합병이 빈번하였다. 선행 연구에서는 회계법인의 규모가 클수록 감사품질이 높다는 결과를 제시하고 있으므로 중·소형 회계법인 간 합병도 감사품질을 높이는 역할을 할 것이라 기대된다. 그러나 현재 우리나라의 중·소형 회계법인간 지배구조를 고려했을 때 회계법인 합병은 형식적 요건을 맞추기 위한 수단이며 궁극적으로 감사품질에는 변함이 없을 것이라는 예측도 가능하다. 이에 본 연구에서 이를 실증하고자 한다. [연구방법] 합병 사례는 2019년에 발생한 중·소형 회계법인 간 합병을 대상으로 한다. 2017년부터 2020년의 4개 연도를 표본 기간으로 한 후 2019년 합병을 기준으로 합병 전·후 2년과 합병 전·후 1년을 분석 대상 기간으로 하였다. 합병 회계법인으로부터 회계감사를 받은 경우 피감사회사의 재량적 발생액에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 분석한다. [연구결과] 실증분석 결과 2019년 기준으로 합병 전·후 2년을 분석 대상으로 하였을 때, 2019년 합병 중·소형 회계법인으로부터 감사를 받은 피감사기업의 재량적 발생액은 5% 수준에서 유의한 음(-)의 값이, 합병 전·후 1년을 분석 대상으로 하였을 때 5% 수준에서 유의한 음(-)의 값이 발견되었다. 이러한 분석 결과를 통해 2019년에 합병한 중·소형 회계법인은 합병 이후 1년, 2년의 감사품질은 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. [연구의 시사점] 본 연구의 결과를 통해 감사품질의 개선 및 향상을 유도하기 위한 감사인 등록제가 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 시사하고 있다. 아울러 회계법인의 규모가 클수록 감사품질이 높다는 선행연구를 재확인시켜주고 있다. [Purpose] This paper aims to examine the relation between merger of small and medium-sized accounting firms and audit quality. In order to increase accounting transparency, Korea implemented the audit registration system in 2019. Accordingly, mergers between small and medium-sized accounting firms occurred frequently in the audit market. In the prior study, there suggest that the larger the accounting firm, the higher the audit quality. Therefore, the merger between small and medium-sized accounting firms is expected to play a role in improving audit quality. However, considering the current governance between small and medium-sized accounting firms in Korea, it can be predicted that the merger of accounting firms can be means to meet the formal requirements of audit registration system, and ultimately the audit quality will not change. [Methodology] The merger sample is for mergers between small and medium-sized accounting firms that occurred in 2019. Four years from 2017 to 2020 were the sample period, Based on the merger in 2019, the two years before and after the merger and one year before and after the merger are compared. This study analyzes the effect on the discretionary accruals of the audited company when it is audited by a merged accounting firm. [Findings] For the two years before and after the merger analysis, the discretionary accruals of companies audited by the merged auditor decreased. Similarly, for the one years before and after the merger analysis, the discretionary accruals also decreased. These results showed that audit quality increased due to the merger of small and medium-sized accounting firms. [Implications] The results of this study suggest that the auditor registration system to induce improvement of audit quality has a positive effect on audit market. In addition, this study reconfirms prior studies that the larger the size of the auditor, the higher the audit quality.

        수확 후 산채류의 미생물학적 안전성을 확보하기 위해 선정된 산채류인 취나물과 곤드레에 이산화염소수와 유기산 용액 병합 처리 및 이산화염소수, 유기산 용액, blanching 병합처리 후 미생물 제어 효과를 비교 분석하였다. 50 ppm 이산화염소수와 0.5% citric acid 용액의 병합 처리는 취나물과 곤드레의 총 호기성 세균 수를 2.80~3.64 log CFU/g, 효모 및 곰팡이 수는 2.02~2.67 log CFU/g 감소시켰다. 50 ppm이산화염소수와 0.5% fumaric acid 용액의 병합 처리 후 총 호기성 세균 수는 대조구와 비교하여 3.62~3.82 log CFU/g 감소하였으며, 효모 및 곰팡이의 경우에는 2.47~3.02 log CFU/g 만큼 감소하여 이산화염소수와 citric acid 용액의 병합 처리보다 fumaric acid 용액과의 병합 처리가 더 효과적인 병합 처리 조건이라고 생각된다. 이산화염소수와 fumaric acid 병합 처리 후 blanching 처리된 취나물의 총 호기성 세균 수는 대조구보다 5.12 log CFU/g 더 낮게 검출되었으며, 효모 및 곰팡이는 검출되지 않았다. 곤드레의 경우에도 효모 및 곰팡이는 검출되지 않았으며, 총 호기성 세균 수는 대조구와 비교하여 4.59 log CFU/ g 감소하였다. 따라서 본 연구 결과 이산화염소수와 유기산 용액 전처리 후 blanching 병합 처리가 산채류의 미생물학적 안전성을 확보하는 가장 효과적인 방법이라고 판단된다. To improve the microbiological safety of wild vegetables after harvest, Aster scaber and Cirsium setidens Nakai were treated with combinations of 50 ppm aqueous chlorine dioxide (ClO₂)/0.5% citric acid or fumaric acid, and 50 ppm ClO₂/0.5% fumaric acid/blanching at 90°C for 2 min. Combined treatment of 50 ppm ClO₂ and 0.5% citric acid reduced populations of total aerobic bacteria, yeast, and molds in Aster scaber and Cirsium setidens Nakai by 2.80∼3.64 and 2.02∼2.67 log CFU/g, respectively, compared to those of the control. Combined treatment of 50 ppm ClO₂ and 0.5% fumaric acid reduced total aerobic bacteria, yeast and molds populations by 3.62∼3.82 and 2.47∼3.02 log CFU/g, respectively. Based on the results, combined treatment of ClO₂ and fumaric acid was more effective in controlling microorganisms in the wild vegetables than either ClO₂ or citric acid. In addition, combined treatment of ClO₂/fumaric acid/blanching reduced the populations of total aerobic bacteria by 4.59∼5.12 log CFU/g, and populations of yeast and molds were not detected by treatment. These results suggest that combined treatment of ClO₂/fumaric acid/blanching is the most effective method for improving microbiological safety of wild vegetables after harvest.

        태양인(太陰人) 청혈강기탕(淸血降氣湯) 투여 후 호전된 시멘트 접촉 만성 피부염 환자 치험 1례

        Objectives : The purpose of this report is to investigate the effect of Taeeumin Cheonghyeolgangki-tang on chronic contact dermatitis caused by cement. Methods : A 52-year-old male patient was diagnosed with contact dermatitis with the Questionnaire for Sasang Constitutional Classification-II (QSCC-II) as well as the four methods of diagnosis (四診), and treated with Taeeumin Cheonghyeolgangki-tang (qīngxuèjiàngqí-tāng). We observed redness and scaling on both palms, and recorded photographs of any changes during the inpatient and outpatient treatment period. Results : The symptoms of contact dermatitis on both palms were significantly improved. Scaling and cracked skin disappeared and the redness almost resolved. Conclusions : Therefore, Taeeumin Cheonghyeolgangki-tang ( qīngxuèjiàngqí-tāng ) is effective on chronic contact dermatitis caused by cement.

        Methods for the development of home meal replacement seafood tailored to consumer needs for the advanced use of Broughton’s ribbed ark Scapharca broughtonii (BRA) in Korea are required. In this study, we developed a cheesetopped, semi-dried, and seasoned Broughton’s ribbed ark (S-BRA) tailored for the younger generation with an improved texture and fish odor. The optimization of conditions to improve the texture and fish odor was performed using RSM. The design of the model was appropriate because there was no significant difference (P>0.05) between the predicted and actual values of moisture content, hardness, and overall acceptance, and the optimal preparation conditions were a vinegar content of 2.68%, a soaking time of 62 min, a drying temperature of 60℃, and a time of 162 min. The SBRA manufactured under these optimal conditions exhibited a lower odor intensity compared to the unsoaked and undried control, suggesting that the fish odor of S-BRA has been improved. The moisture content related to the texture of the S-BRA was lower than that of the control, and the hardness was higher. Therefore, the S-BRA developed in this study will appeal to people of all ages, especially the younger generation; their consumption is expected to increase.
