Background : In recent years gonorrhoea has been panendemic and remains one of the most common Sexually Transmitted Diseases in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Method : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria Gonorrhoeae(PPNG), Ive have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1994, 168 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 109 (64,9% ) were PPNG. Conclustion : Our results suggests that the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is still increasing.

This study is intended to investigate needing of remodeling sections for the building owner and remodeling constructor. In this context, this study is focused on the "evaluation method of economic efficiency in building remodeling". The survey of office building constructor and building owner shows the importance of economic efficiency and priority order of remodeling element in building remodeling. And this study shows how to choose the remodeling items for building owner and remodeling constructor. The objective of this study is that construction information can flow as the level of advanced countries

This paper describes the development of ultrasonic generator to enhance the combustion efficiency of the domestic boiler based on the cavitation property of ultrasonic wave. The following procedure shows the proposed energy-saving-precess of the boiler. (1) vibrate the BLT(Bolted Langevin Transducer) type ultrasonic vibrator. (2) amplify the vibrating energy using resonance principle through the designed hem installed before the injection nozzle. The proposed ultrasonic device is designed to produce smaller fuel particles to be mixed homogeneously with air, which finally reduces the fuel consumption of the boiler.

This study was investigated the effects of various system parameters on the absorption of carbon dioxide into absorption solution. An aqueous potassium carbonate solution was used as a chemical absorbent in order to figure out the effect of chemical reaction. For this purpose, the chemical analysis of potassium carbonate solution was performed. The changes of pressure, temperature, K₂CO₃solution flow/feed gas ratio and solution concentration in the absorber and the changes of pressure and temperature in the stripper were also analyzed. The analysis result shows that K₂CO₃ concentration in potassium carbonate solution was 99.6%. The optimum pressure was found to be 27.0㎏/㎠ and the optimum temperature was to be 68℃, the optimum concentration of potassium carbonate solution was to be 26.0wt% in the absorber. The CO₂ leakage decreased with the increment of the K₂CO₃ solution flow/feed gas ratio. But the H₂ leakage in the CO₂ product increased at or above the K₂CO₃ solution flow/feed gas ratio of 1.10. This H₂ leakage induced by the loss of ammonia production. The effects of the changes of the operation condition of the CO₂ stripper to the K₂CO₃ conversion are as follows. The K₂CO₃ conversion decreased as the pressure decreased. The K₂CO₃ conversion increased as the temperature increased. However, increasing the temperature without decreasing the pressure did not bring positive effect. The optimum pressure was found to be 0.45㎏/㎠.

This study was. carried out for the identification and drug susceptibility of Nocardia species iso?lated from the sputum of pulmonary tuberculosis patients at Severance Hospital from May, 1973 to May, 1974. The results as follows: 1. Among the 138 experimental specimens, eleven of the Nocardia species were identified by the methods of direct microscopic observation and culture characteristics. 2. Of the eleven Nocardia species, 6 of the Nocardia species were identified N. asteroides, 3 of the N. brasiliensis and 2 of the strains could not identified with a ordinary methods. 3. Antimicrobial activity of experimental strains to the several antibiotics, Ampicillin, Oxacilin and Cloxacillin were excellent against to the tested groups and Streptomycin, Chloramphenical and Gantrisin were also moderated effective to the experimental group.

Eight hydroxylated stilbene derivatives including resveratrol, desoxyrhapontigenin and piceatannol as potential radical scavenger and tyrosinase inhibitor are synthesized using optimized Wittig-Horner reaction for excellent trans-selectivity in good yields. Antioxidant activity was tested against ABTS radical and tyrosinase inhibitory activity was performed with L-tyrosine as the substrate based on previous procedure with some modification. In general, catecholic stilbenes showed stronger activity against ABTS radical and resorcinolic moiety showed stronger tyrosinase inhibitory activity. Synthetic piceatannol which containing both catecholic and resorcinolic moieties showed the strongest activity in both as ABTS radical scavenger and tyrosinase inhibitor with $IC_{50}$ values of 4.1 and $8.6\;{\mu}M$, respectively.
