Background and Objectives : The overexpression of P-glycoprotein (Pgp) or multidrug resistanceassociated protein (MRP) confers multidrug resistance (MDR) to cancer cells. MDR cells could be sensitized to anticancer drugs when treated concomitantly with a chemosensitizer. In this study, orange peel have been screened for the development of chemosensitizers reversing MDR. Materials and methods : Expression of Pgp in AML-2/WT and AML-2/D100 were determined using western blot analysis and RT-PCR. Candidates for chemosensitizers were isolated, purified from orange peel using sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and silica-gel column chromatography, whose structure was determined using ^1H-NMR, ^13C-NMR, ^1H-^1H-COSY, 13C-NMR, EI-Mass, IR. Chemosensitizing effect of NP-28 on AML-2/DX100 over expressing Pgp and MRP was determined by the MTT assay. Membrane toxicity was evaluated by the RBC hemolysis test. Antioxidant effects were examined by using a fluorescence probe (2’-7’-dichlorofluorescein diacetate). Results : A potent candidate, NP-28, has a flavonoid nucleus with some methoxy moiety. NP-28 is believed to have high therapeutic index, being non-transportable inhibitor and possibly, of inhibiting other efflux pumps such as MRP and antioxidant effects. NP-28 is also unlikely to be a substrate of Pgp. NP-28 did not increase Pgp levels. Conclusion : NP-28 has a Chemosensitizing effect to reverse Pgp-mediated MDR by increasing the intracellular accumulation of drugs. Furthermore, they do not increase expression of Pgp, which can allow a long term use without the concern about Pgp activation. NP-28 is anticipated as an ideal second-generation flavonoid chemosensitizer and/or possibly other therapeutic agents by further investigation.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to determine characteristics of work-related psychiatric injuries with Korean Workers' compensation data. Methods : We analyzed the distribution of sex, age, types of work-related psychiatric disorders, type of industry and occupation. Using the data of 3175 Korean workers' compensation cases who were compensated for work-related psychiatric injuries from 2001 to 2003. Results : Work-related psychiatric injuries have increased annually. 897 cases, 1099 cases and 1179 cases were compensated during three years (2001-2003). Men accounted for many more cases than women. The most common age group was 41 -49. The majority of work-related psychiatric injuries were 'organic, including symptomatic, mental disorders', 'neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders' and 'mood [affective] disorders'. For accidental psychiatric injury cases construction and manufacturing were the most common industries. Manufacturing, business activities, construction and transport were common in regard to work-related psychiatric disorders. In this study there was a high frequency of craft and related trades workers, elementary occupations and plant and machine operators and assemblers in accidental psychiatric injury cases. Work-related psychiatric disorders were frequent for elementary occupations, plant and machine operators and assemblers, craft and related trades workers, service workers, legislators, senior officials and managers. Conclusion : This investigation provided more information about the psychiatric injuries of Korean workers. These findings should help formulate intervention and prevention strategies of work-related psychiatric disorders.

This study was carried out to investigate the effect of some growth regulators i.e., gibberellic acid (GA), benzyladenine (BA) and abscisic acid (ABA) on the dormancy breaking of new buds in 2 year-old Ginseng plants. Materials were sampled in the middle of October and their dormancy was checked under the favorable conditions for germination of bud for a month. They were treated for 24 hours with the following growth regulators; (1) GA, BA and ABA at the concentrations of 50 and 100 ppm, and (2) the combination of GA and BA, GA and ABA, and BA and ABA at the concentrations of 50 ppm, respectively. It was found that the application of GA was effective in dormancy breaking of new buds and seemed to elongate stem, flower stalk and petiole but degenerated the majority of flower stalk in the early stage and also accelerated the formation of the adventitious root. By the application of GA, poor development of color was observed in leaf and stem in the early stage. The leaf began to regain green color with leaf maturation but the stem did not gain purple color. The applications of BA and ABA combined with GA showed almost the same effect in dormacy breaking as GA application. In these cases color development of stem and leaf was good cmpared with that of GA application. Even with some side-effects such as elongation and poor color development of stem and leaf, GA might be applied for dormancy breaking of new buds substituting for the low temperature in winter.
Ciprofloxacin 제제의 생물학적 동등성에 관한 연구

국내 시판중인 ciprofloxacin 제제인 Citopcin®(250㎎ tablet)의 동등성을 검토하기 위해 제조원인 Bayer사의 Citopcin®(250㎎ tablet)를 기준제제로 하여 18명의 건강한 남성 피험자를 대상으로 500㎎ 1회 교차 경구 투여후 약동학적 성상을 분석비교한 결과는 다음과 같다. 시험제제의 생체 이용율의 지표인 AUC, C_(mao), T_(max) 및 MRT들의 평균치는 백분율차이에 있어 모든 기준제제 지표의 ± 20% 이내였으며, 이들 생체 이용율 지표들은 분산분석 검정에서 차이를 인지할 수 없었다.생체 이용율 지표들의 기준제제에 대한 백분율 90% 대칭 신뢰구간 검토시 모든 경수들에서 ± 20% 이내의 조건을 만족하였으며 AUC의 경우에는 대칭형 신뢰구간으로 변환시 95% 신뢰구간에서도 동등성의 조건을 만족하였다, 이상의 시험결과로 시험제제인 Citopcin®은 기준제제인 Ciprobay®와 생물학적 동등한 제제로 판단되었다. The pharmacokinetics of ciprofloxacin was studied for the evaluation of the bioequivalence of the generic ciproflocacin products. Two single doses of 500㎎ each of ciprofloxacin(Ciprobay® 250㎎ tablet as a reference compound and Citopcin® 250㎎ tablet s a test compound) were administered orally to ighteen male volunteers in a balanced, randomized crossover design. Pek plasma levels of ciprofloxacin were observed about 1 hour after the doses and the peak concentrations of both products were similar(Ciprobay®, 3.18㎍/㎖; Citopcin®, 2.89㎍/㎖). The values of other pharmacokinetic parameter of ciprofloxacin computed for Ciprobay® are presented in that order: AUC=13.53:12.47㎍·h/㎖, T_(max)=1.28:1.14 hours; MRT=5.30:5.08 hours; t_(1/2)β=3.65:3.47 hours. No satistically significant, differences were detected when AUC and the other parameters were compared with the method of ANOVA. Using the criteria of 90% confidence interval for the assessment of bioequivalence al the parameters were acceptable. The products were found to be equivalent on the premise that no significant difference was detected when the relevant pharmacokinetic parameters were compared, and the confidence limit analysis showed acceptable results.
Bicycle Ergometer를 통한 고교남자 태권도·필드하키선수의 Cardiorespiratory 및 Cardiocirculatory 운동부하능력 비교 연구

본 연구는 실내에서 주로 이루어지는 태권도와 실외 운동인 필드하키 남자 고교선수의 운동능력을 운동생리학적으로 분석하여 스포츠종목에 따른 운동능력의 차이와 한계가 어느 정도인지를 명확하게 구분하는데 목적이 있다. 연령과 성별에 따른 다른 스포츠 종목의 운동생리학적 스포츠의학적 운동부하능력 구분은 이미 60년대부터 있었으나 태권도를 실외 스포츠와 비교한 연구는 전무하고, 태권도가 건강을 증진에 기여하는 스포츠 종목으로 정립하고, 태권도와 필드하키가 가지는 운동 생리학적 특성을 분석하여 상호 미진한 부분을 보완하는 계기를 마련하는 자료를 도출하는데 두 번째 목적이 있다. 본 연구에 참여한 피검자로는 부산지역의 K고교 1,2학년 태권도 선수와 경남 K고교 필드하키 선수 1, 2학년을 종목별 8명을 대상으로 선정하였다. 인제대학교 스포츠의학실험실의 검진도구(서독의 Jaeger사의 Alpha Oxycon과 네덜란드산 Lode의 Bicycle Ergometer)를 이용하여 매 2분마다 1Watt/㎏ BW의 점진적인 운동부하의 증가방법인 NOWACKI의 Protocol에 따라 운동검진에 참여한 선수가 주관적 또는 객관적으로 탈진상태(all out)에 이를 때까지 심장순환계(HRmin^-1), 최대산소섭취량(V˚O_2max.), 상대적 최대산소섭취량(V˚O_2max/㎏.BW), 1회 심장의 박동에 따른 산소의 섭취량(O_2/HR), 산소섭취량에 따른 이산화탄소 배출량(RQ)과 분당 호흡수(BFmin^-1)를 운동시 2분, 4분, 6분, 8분, 최대운동, 운동 후 휴식기 1~5분을 관찰하였다. 검진에서 얻어진 모든 데이터는 Windows용 SPSS 통계프로그램을 이용하여 분석하고 태권도 선수와 필드하키 선수를 변인들간의 차이를 기준으로 t-test로 유의검증을 하고 결과를 해석하였다. 연구의 검진에서 얻어진 데이터의 분석결과 태권도 선수보다 필드하키 선수가 각 변인들 심장순환계(HR), 최대 산소 섭취량(V˚O_2max), 상대적 최대산소섭취량(V˚O_2max/㎏.BW), 1회 심장의 박동에 따른 산소의 섭취량(O_2/HR)등의 운동부하능력에 있어서 좋은 결과를 보일 것으로 예상했으나 평균값에서 태권도 선수가 높게 나타났다. 그래서 원인이 될 근거를 탐색한 결과 첫째, 태권도 선수의 운동경력이 필드 하키선수보다 더 많았고, 둘재, 실험방법에 있어 자전거 에르고미터(Bicycle Ergometer)의 이용이 필드하키 선수보다 태권도 선수에게 더 유리하게 작용했으며, 셋째, 태권도선수가 하키선수보다 신장과 체중이 크고 많이 나가는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 태권도 선수의 경우 고정된 자세에서 하지의 근력을 많이 사용하는 반면에 필드하키선수는 동적인 자세에서 다리의 근력이 사용되는 이유로 앉아서 행하는 자전거 에르고미터(Bicycle Ergometer)에 필드하키 선수의 적응이 부정적으로 작용한 것으로 여겨진다. 그래서 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과로 다음과 같은 제안을 하고자한다. 즉 스포츠 종목의 특성에 따라 나타난 운동 생리학적 결과로 평소 스포츠 종목의 특징에 따른 국한된 트레이닝보다 다양한 프로그램의 적용을 통한 훈련 이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
위암 환자의 복강내 투여를 위한 Activated Charcoal-Alginate Bead 제형으로부터 Mitomycin C의 용출 거동

Locoregional recurrence is the most common type of recurrence in surgical operation of gastric adenocarcinoma, and peritoneal dissemination is one of the most difficult problems in advanced gastric adenocarcinoma treatment. Because the peritoneal cavity is the most common site of the first recurrence after gastric cancer resection, intraperitoneal chemotherapy seems a logical choice for cancer chemotherapy. In this study, Mitomycin C (MMC)-activated charcoal (CH)-alginate (ALG) beads were prepared by the mixtures of CH particles adsorbed with MMC as an anti-cancer drug and aqueous alginate solution. The alginate is recognized as biodegradable, nontoxic, and biocompatible. The release of MMC from the beads in 0.1 M Tris buffer was stable and continuous until about 1 week. The MMC-CH-ALG beads can be applied in the peritoneal cavity for intraperitoneal chemotherapy since they provide a good adhesiveness on the tissue and controlled release pattern of the drugs.

全北 平野地인 裡里地方에서 옥수수의 播種期와 地上部生育 및 種實收量과의 관계를 調査하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 播種期의 早晩이 莖葉의 生育 및 種實收量에 크게 영향을 끼치며 播種이 늦어질수록 出雄, 出絲, 生育日數가 짧아지고 地上部生育은 떨어지는 경향이다. 2. 莖葉生育은 4月 20日 播種을 基點으로, 種實收量은 5月 5日 播種을 基點으로 各各 減少되었다. 3. 地上部諸形質과 種實收量간에는 高度의 正의 相關이 인정되며 種實增收를 위하여는 莖葉生育은 크게 할 필요가 있다. Some results were gained through the experiment that was carried out with a single cross cultivar, Suweon 19, of maize (Zea mays L.) in Iri, the Jeonbug plain area, in 1980, to check relationships between growth characters at different sowing dates. 1. The foliage growth and grain yield were greatly influenced with planting season. The number of days to tasseling, silking, or maturing shortened and the growth of maize decreased as sowing was delayed. 2. The threshold sowing date for foliage production seemed to be April 20 and that for grain yield, May 5. 3. Highly significant positive correlation existed between vegetative growth and grain yield. This may mean that increasing vegetative growth is prerequisite to better grain yield.
新品種 밀 "早光"의 沓裏作 播種期 및 播種量에 관한 硏究

This experiment was carried out under different seeding dates(October 10, Oct. 20 or November 10) and seeding rates (20, 30, 35 ℓ 10a) from 1976 to 1977 in Iri in order to study the suitable seeding date and seeding rate for Jokwang, the newly developed wheat variety, in double cropping paddy field. 1. Number of days to seedling emergence both on Oct. 20 and Oct. 30 were 14 days, but that of Nov. 10 was prolonged due to comparatively low temperature and about 37 days. 2. The heading date and the maturing date seemed to be shortened by 1 or 2 days in accordance with the earlier seeding date and the larger amount of seeding. 3. Number of panicles per square meter seeded on Oct. 20 was 506 which marked the most among the three seeding dates. 30ℓ 10a plot showed the most in panicle number among three seeding rates. 4. Number of grains per panicles was increased by 1 or 2 grains with hastened seeding date, but it was decreased by 2 or 3 grains with the increase in seeding rate. 5. The weight of 1,000 grains of the plots both seeded on Oct. 20 and Oct. 30 was about 38.0 g. and that of Nov. 10 was 35.0g. On the other hand, there were almost negligible differences in 1,000 grains weight between seeding rates at the same seeding date. 6. The yield of the plot seeded on Oct. 20 was 359 ㎏ 10a which marked the highest among the three seeding dates. Among seeding rates, 30 ℓ/10a plot showed the highest yield of 351 ㎏ 10a. However, the highest yield among all treatments, seeding dates and seeding rates, was 382 ㎏ 10a which was obtained from the plot seeded on Oct. 20 with the seeding rate of 30 ℓ/10a. 7. Therefore, it was considered that the suitable seeding date for Jokwang, the newly developed wheat variety, in double cropping paddy field in Iri area was Oct. 20 and its seeding rate was 30ℓ/10a.

A common form of relapse in adenocarcinoma of the stomach is intraperitioneal dissemination, in fact, among gastric adenocarcinoma patients who have undergone surgery intended to cure, approximately 50% of the patients develope initial recurrence in the peritoneal cavity regardless of the anatomic site of the primary tumor within the stomach. The efficacy of systemic postoperative chemotherapy to prevent peritoneal recurrence of gastrric adenocarcinoma is not satisfactory. There is still a great need for improved therapeutic strategies on the disseminated microscopic disease and small miliary nodules remaining on the peritoneal surface or lymphatics after operation. The authers have made fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid composite disks(Fu-PGA disks) with fluorouracil and biodegradable polymer: polyglycolic acid for more effective intraperitoneal chemotherapy. We inserted the Fu-PGA disk(s) in the peritoneal cavity of rat and pharmacokinetic study was performed to measure fluorouracil concentration in the peritoneal fluid, plasma, liver, kidney and heart tissue at 24 hour, 72 hour and 168 hour after insertion of Fu-PGA disk(s). Myelosuppressive action of this composite also was determined following its administration. The data of this study suggested that Fu-PGA composite will be a new device releasing drugs in a controlled manner and having targetability to peritoneum, and this device will be improving the efficacy of intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric adenocarcinoma.
Rat의 복강내에 투여한 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid 제형이 장기에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

For more effective intraperitoneal chemotherapy, the authers made 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid composite disks(FU-PGA disks) with 5-fluorouracil and polyglycolic acid, a biodegradable polymer. We inserted the FU-PGA disk into the peritoneal cavites of Sprague-Dawley male rats, the control and three experimental groups; one FU-PGA disk insert group(300mg/kg), two FU-PGA disk insert group(600mg/kg), and three FU-PGA disk insert group(900mg/kg). The control group received a similar number of PGA disk inserts. A pharmacokinetic study was performed to measure the 5-fluorouracil concentration in the peritoneal fluid, blood, and tissues(liver, kidney and heart) at 24 hours, 72hours and 168 hours after insertion of the FU-PGA disk. Light and electron microscopic studies were done. The results were as follows: 1) The number of white blood cells and platelets decreased after FU-PGA insertion. The degree was proportional to the duration and amounts inserted. The change in the number of red blood cells varied slightly. 2) Light microscopically, slight changes were noted at 168 hours in the 3 disk insert group (900mg/kg). Mild fatty change and hepatocyte degeneration around the central veins of the liver were noted, with vacuolar degeneration in the proximal convoluted tubules of the kidney. 3) Electron microscopically,the liver showed focal increases of lipid droplets in the hepatocytes, and irregular nuclear membrane with focal nucleolar segregation of the fibrillar and granular elements. Also the double membranous structure of the hepatocytes and Kupffer cells was widened with bleb formation. The kidney showed wide separation of the nuclear double membrane in the proximal convoluted tubular cells and mesangial cells, with vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the proximal convoluted tubular cells, at 72 hours and 168 hours in the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. The heart showed focal loss of cristae,vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. In conclusion, despite the large amont of FU-PGA inserted, the histopathological changes in the liver, kidney and heart were slight, and consonant with the very low amount of 5-fluorouracil concentrations detected in the liver, kidney and heart. The above results suggest that the FU-PGA composite can serve as a new device for releasing drugs in a controlled manner and easily targeted to intraperitoneal organs. This device can improve the efficacy of intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric cancer.
