The cytotoxicological responses to insect growth regulator (IGR), using tebufenozide as ecdysteroid mimic, were investigated in Drosophila Kc cells. Treatment of Kc cells with tebufenozide showed significant growth inhibition and striking morphological changes including aggregation and elongation of the cells. In order to understand the cellular mechanism underlying the response of Drosophila cells to tebufenozide, immunofluorescence microscopy was performed. We found that treatment of Kc cells with tebufenozide enhanced the reorganization of f-actin and stimulated the expression of hsp27. These data suggest a possible association of filamentous actin (f-actin) and hsp27 in the cytotoxicological mechanisms of growth regulators in Drosophila cells.

다중전송률 지원 이동 Ad Hoc 네트워크를 위한 위치 정보 기반 라우팅 프로토콜

이동 Ad Hoc 네트워크(MANET)에서 많은 영역에 걸쳐 다양한 라우팅 프로토콜들이 제안되어 왔다. 다중전송률은 현재 많은 무선 랜 카드에 의해 지원되고 있고, 그 효과에 관한 라우팅 프로토콜 알고리즘들이 연구되고 있다. 다중전송률에서의 high-rate을 이용한 데이터 전송은 일정한 시간 내에 더 많은 데이터를 전송할 수 있기 때문에 높은 throughput을 기대 할 수 있다. 그러나 high-rate을 이용한 데이터 전송의 경우 전송이 가능한 거리가 짧아져 목적노드까지 도달하는 데에 더 많은 홉을 거쳐야 한다. 그로 인해 패킷을 전달하는데 걸리는 시간이 늘어나 전체 네트워크의 성능을 저하시킬 수도 있다. 본 논문에서는 노드들의 이동으로 인한 네트워크의 토폴로지 변화나 채널의 상태에 따라 어떤 전송 속도로 데이터를 전송할 것인가를 결정하기 위해 다중전송률을 고려한 위치 정보 기반의 라우팅 프로토콜을 제안한다.
1H NMR-based metabolite profiling of diet-induced obesity in a mouse mode

High-fat diets (HFD) and high-carbohydrate diets (HCD)- induced obesity through different pathways, but the metabolic differences between these diets are not fully understood. Therefore, we applied proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR)-based metabolomics to compare the metabolic patterns between C57BL/6 mice fed HCD and those fed HFD. Principal component analysis derived from 1H NMR spectra of urine showed a clear separation between the HCD and HFD groups. Based on the changes in urinary metabolites, the slow rate of weight gain in mice fed the HCD related to activation of the tricarboxylic acid cycle (resulting in increased levels of citrate and succinate in HCD mice), while the HFD affected nicotinamide metabolism (increased levels of 1-methylnicotineamide, nicotinamide-N-oxide in HFD mice), which leads to systemic oxidative stress. In addition, perturbation of gut microflora metabolism was also related to different metabolic patterns of those two diets. These findings demonstrate that 1H NMR- based metabolomics can identify diet-dependent perturbations in biological pathways. [BMB Reports 2012; 45(7): 419-424]
