        Palm prints have been used for personal identification because they are unique to each individual. Palm prints have also been used for diagnosing genetic disorders and for revealing physical anthropological characteristics, due to their specific appearance characteristic of genetic factors and nationality. Therefore, several analytical methods of palm prints have been developed and applied for the purpose described. However, in the previous reports, the analytical methods of palm prints and the numbers of subjects were insufficient to find Standard values for Korean palm prints. In this study, in order to determine the Standard value for Korean palm prints, we examined palm prints of 3216 Korean adults (2095 males and 1121 females), analyzed the data according to sex and side of hand, and compared with those of foreigners. The results are s follows: 1) The incidence of 7, 9, and 11 of D was 41.8%, 33.5%, and 20.4%, respectively. Comparing the incidences 017, 9, and 11 of D in Koreans with those of foreigners, the Korean belong to the Asians including the Japanese, the Chinese, and the Philippine, however, the Korean was doser to the Blacks and distant from the Whites than the other Asians. 2) The palm prints were classified into the open type in which B terminates at the ulnar border of hand, and the dosed type in which B does not. Open type, 7-5-5 (male 37.6%, female 39.5%) and 9-7-5 (male 23.9%, female 25.5%), was more frequent in female than in male, while dosed type, 11-9-7 (male 9.8%, female 9.1%), was more frequent in male than in female. Also, open type, 7-5-5 (right 28.9%, left 47.6%), was more frequent in left hand than in right hand, while dosed type, 11-9-7 (right 17.1%, left 2.1%), was more frequent in right hand than in left hand. Consequently, open type was more frequent in the weak hand, whereas dosed type was more frequent in strong hand. 3) Because a-b (39.2) and c-d (35.0) were more numerous than b-c (27.8), distance between a and b and between c and d were longer than that between c and d. The long distance of a, b and c, d could be resulted by wide moving range of second finger and fifth finger, respectively. Also, there was a tendency that the palmar ridge counts of right hand was more numerous than those of left hand, which could be resulted by wide moving range of right fingers in the right-handed persons who were more frequent than the left-handed persons. 4) O, in which there was no triradius, and X, in which dermal ridge from a triradius was blocked and terminated at the other dermal ridge, were frequent in C (O 7.8%, × 7.2%) than in D (O 0.1%, × 0.1%) or in B (O 0.4%, X 1.2%). The frequency of 0 and X in C was thought to be related with the location of ein the narrow space between d and b. The narrow space between d and b was known because c-d and b-c was less numerous than a-b. 5) The distances between adjacent triradii were longer in male than in female, however, the palmar ridge counts for a-b, b-c, and c-d were less numerous in male than in female. Consequently, dermal ridges were thought to be thicker in male than in female. The Standard values of Korean palm prints obtained from this study are expected to be used for both diagnosing genetic disorders and for revealing physical anthropological characteristics in Korea. Further studies to clarify the relationship between the palm prints and the power of hand as well as the moving range of fingers are in need.

      • 微生物 有機質肥料의 施用이 토마토의 收量과 土壤環境에 미치는 影響

        몇가지 土壤微生物劑 處理가 토마토의 收量과 土壤의 化學成分, 그리고 微生物相에 미치는 影響을 調査하였다. 모둔 微生物劑 處理區에서 無處理에 비하여 收量이 增加하는 傾向이 있었고, 특히 MPK+Compost 處理區가 가장 높았다. 土壤의 化學成分에서는 Tomi 處理區에서 K와 Mg의 含量이 높았으나, 다른 處理區에서는 差異가 없었다. 土壤의 微生物相을 調査한 結果, 總細菌數에서는 Tomi 處理區가 가장 높았고 Husk+Palma 및 MPK+Husk+Palma 處理區에서도 높게 나타났다. Bacillus는 MPK+Husk+Palma 處理區가 가장 높았고 Husk=Palma와 Tomi 處理區에서도 몹시 增加되었다. Actionmycetes와 fungi에서도 tomi 處理區가 매우 增加하였으나, 다른 處理區 間에는 差異가 없었고, pseudomonas에서도 却 處理間에 差異가 없었다. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of microbial fertilizers on yields of tomato. Six microbial fertilizers, MPK+Husk+Palma, Husk+Palma, MPK+Compost, Compost, Bio livestock cattle system (BLCS) cattle dropping, and Tomi, were used. All of the microbial fertilizers were tend to increase yields of tomato, especially MPK+Compost treatment was most effective. In a chemical components of soil, concentrations of K, Mg were increased with Tomi treatment, however, the other concentrations of soil chemical components were not different. In a microbial floras of soil, Tomi, Husk+Palma, and MPK+Husk+Palma treated plots increased in numbers of total bacteria and bacillus. Tomi treated plot increased in numbers of actinornycetes and fungi, also. The other microbial floras of soil were not different, however. The microbial fertilizers may affect the useful microbial floras, therefore, it would be increase yeld of tomato treated with them.

        1. Conclusion This study is focused on the plans to overcome physical difficulties of the middle, elderly people such as 『various diseases (especially from lack of exercise), stress of tension』, and to lead a more healthy life through the literature study of 'Taekwondo Pumsae' and 'Kikong' practice. Below are the results of the literature study. 1)'Taekwondo' and 'Kikong' have a close relation between. These two have come up to now in defferent realms in spite of development almost at the same time. The former has developed as a self-defense instinct, with the prosperity and decline of nation, while the latter has developed toward safety of mind, medical treatment, and physical health. However, both have developed through the process of becoming congruous into one by the depth of practice and, also, are rooted deep in orientalism 2)'Pumsae' practice of 'Taekwondo' and 'Kikong' practice are aimed at physical sturdiness of higher level. 3) The ultimate purpose of 'Taekwondo' and 'Kikong' practice is reaching the stage of right 'Do'. This can be realized by the fact that 'Kikong' is used both in the practice method of taoism, the zen sect of Buddhism, and Buddhism and in the practice of military arts 'Kikong'. 4) 'Kikong' practice is unconsciously performed in 'Taekwondo' pratice. Taken for examples are the preparatory acts to relax the body in 'Taekwondo' practice, the breath actions taken in 'Pumsae', and the mind and breath anangement in long-relayed actions which are intermittent in 'Pumsae'. 5) There are some points in the methods of 'Kikong' practice which need improving because of Pumsae characteristics in 'Taekwondo Pumsa-e'. 2. Improvement Plans of 'Kikong' practice in 'Taekwondo' will be considered on the basis of these aspects. Hypotheses below are set up because the 'Ki' practice is closely related to breathes, and the former itself can never be materialized without the latter; also, many physical problems, as explained in the pervious chapter, are brought up as a man ages. 1) Rapidity or intenseness of action should be removed of the previous 'Pumsae'. 2) A breath is taken for the beginning and end of an action each. 3) The foot is raised with its end unfolded and power is added to its end at the last point of time, as to the speed and the location of the foot end in the action of 'Palchaki'. 4) 2 to 3 actions which are sequentially taken at one verbal order in the present 'Pumsae' should be all divided, and executed at one breath. 5) The hand movement are calmly connected into a half circle in the time of breath. 6) Division of actions is maintained uniformly to breathes. 7) Preparatory actions are slowly taken in the power-removed condition, and power is exerted at the last part in the offense action. 8) The fists are lightly clenched, not firmly, and power is exerted on them in the 'Jirki' action at the same last part as in the 'Palchaki' action. After the hypotheses above is materialized a definite approach can be tried to 'Taekwondo' and 'Ki'. Below are the definite plans. First, restore the function of breath from the beginning before the entrance into 'Palchaki' -a practical action of 'Taekwondo', or a preparatory attitude. This means the practice of breathe-in and breath-out, implying that one breathes consciously to have breathes reach the navel and the abdomen. Second, the slackening exercise of the body is added to the previous preparatory exercise-the 'Yoga' exercise. Third, 'Taekwondo' is the physical sport in movements and one needs to learn how to breathe to the basic actions. One breathes in at preparatory actions and breathes out in the progress. A little breath should remain at the end of the last action. Fourth, current of actions should be as natural as water once in the practical 'Pumsae', and should not face the situation like a rush of blood in the face, or the out-of-breath situation. Fifth, although even better is raising the foot as high as possible by skill, it is generally lifted to one's waist and, then power is given to its end. Sixth, in the performance of every action one tries to let the physical actions done softly and naturally, not by force.

        무균돼지 사육시설 계획을 위한 사례연구 : 공간구성 및 동선계획을 중심으로

        According to the increase of demand for human organs such as kidney, heart, pancreas, joint, and cornea for therapeutic transplantation, the production of alternative organs based on Gnotobiotic Pigs gains a lot of concerns all over the world. However, it is not common to design and build Gnotobiotic Pigs' facility, and there are only a few those facilities and planning principles for them. Considering the situation above, this paper tries to develop planning guidelines for space organization and circulation system of standardized Germ Free Pig's facility on the bases of case analysis. The results of this study are as follows. At first, four swine farms including a Gntobiotic Pig's facility has been analysed from the point of space organization and circulation system. Secondly, the space zoning of Gnotobiotic Pigs' facility has been proposed into 5 groups : pigs' area, adminstration area, operating room and laboratory, service area, and mechanical area. Space components of each group have been presented also. Finally, circulation system of Gnotobiotic Pigs' facility has been explored from a operational point of view. This, also, includes human circulation, pig's circulation, and goods' circulation. This study has some limitations because it does not consider the SOPs(standard operational policies) of that facility to the fullest measure and does not suggest space area of each part, either. Despite of some weaknesses, it is expected that this study can give some useful guidelines for the design and planning of Germ Free Pigs' facilities.

        백서의 심실세동성 심정지 모델에서 해마신경세포 손상에 대한 단백질 합성저해제의 효과

        Background: The goal of successful resuscitation is not only to stop the process of ischemia as soon as possible but also to overcome the secondary injury process after resuscitation, which involves a complex interplay of mechanisms. Brain damage accompanying cardiac arrest and resuscitation is frequent and devastating. Cells die by one of two mechanisms: necrosis or delayed neuronal death. Delayed neuronal death may require protein synthesis. Neurons in the CA1 subfield of the hippocampus are selectively vulnerable to death after injury by ischemia and reperfusion. Death of these neurons occurs after an interval of 1 or 2 days. We assessed the effects of a protein synthesis inhibitor, cycloheximide(CHX), on hippocampal neuronal death of rats by using the ventricular fibrillation cardiac arrest(VFCA) model. Methods: The effect of CHX(3 mg/kg, s.c.) on hippocampal neuronal death was studied in two groups of 18 rats each, one group being subjected to a 2-min VFCA and the other to a 3-min VFCA. Each group was divided into three subgroups: control(groupⅠ,Ⅱ) without subcutaneous injection of CHX, "esp-12" of group Ⅰ/Ⅱ treated with CHX 12 hours after return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), and "exe-24" of group Ⅰ/Ⅱ treated with CHX 24 hours after ROSC. The coronal sections of the hippocampus levels were stained with hematoxylin-eosin after 72 hours of survival. The histologic damage score(HDS) was used to assign a score to the total number of damaged neurons counted in each of the hippocampal CA1 subfields. Results: 1. There were not significant differences in heart rates, blood pressures, blood sugar, and blood gas in group I & Ⅱ during the pre-arrest steady state or at 5 min and 30 min after ROSC. 2. In group I & Ⅱ, the HDS, were significantly reduced in rats(I exp-12, 1.1 ±0.6;Ⅰexp-24, 1.3 ±0.5;Ⅱ exp-12, 1.4±0.7; and Ⅱ exp-24, 1.8±0.8) treated with CHX 12 hours or 24 hours after ROSC than control rats(1,2.5 ±0.9;Ⅱ,2.9±0.8)(p<0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that delayed hippocampal neuronal death from ischemic insult after ventricular fibrillation cardiac arrest followed by resuscitation can be prevented by a protein synthesis inhibitor, CHX. Further experimental studies of the action mechanism of protein synthesis inhibitors to delayed neuronal death and clinical applications are required.

        Diabetic complication is one of major risk factors leading to vascular disease Such as atherosclerosis stroke, coronary heart disease and etc Several factors affecting the acceleration of diabetic vascular complication have been known such as hypertension hyperlipidemia, immune complex and genetic factors To screen and develop new therapeutics agents for diabetic vascular complication, it is strongly needed to develop animal models for diabetic complications However in rodents models, diabetic complications is not well developed Furthermore to asses¢ the possibility of new therapeutics for diabetic vascular complications, diabetic animal models which have the risk factors of diabetic complications is needed We aim to develop and establish an diabetic animal model which have diabetic complications with hyperlipidemia which is one of risk factors for diabetic complications We induced insulin-dependent diabetes by intra venous injection of streptozotocin (35 mg/kg/day) in RICO rats which is a spontaneous animal model for hyperlipidemia Our models (STZ RICO) showed hyperglycemia, persistent high level of plasma cholesterol and triglyceridemia with severe diabetic renal changes until 28 weeks after induction of diabetes STZ-RICO rats could be used for the evaluations of newly developed diabetic drugs.

        레니텍^(�) 정(말레인산 에날라프릴, 10mg)에 대한 에나레이스 정의 생물학적 동등성

        The purpose of present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two enalapril maleate tablets, Renitec^(™) (MSD Korea Ltd.) and Enalace ^(™) (Welfide Korea Ltd.), according to the guidelines of Korea Food Drug Administration (KFDA). Twenty-four normal male volunteers, 22.33±2.55 year in age and 66.54±8.30 ㎏ in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized 2×2 cross-over study was employed. After two tablets containint 10 ㎎ of enal-april maleate per tablet wre orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and concentrations of enalapril in plasma were determined using LC-MS-MS. Pharmacokinetic parameters such as AUC_(t), C_(max) and T_(max) were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters using logarithmically transformed AUC_(t) and C_(max) untransformed T_(max). There were no sequence effects between two formulations in these parameters. The 90% confidence intervals for the log transfored data were acceptance range of log0.8 to log1.25(e.g., log1.02∼log1.14 and log1.03∼log1.19 for AUC_(t) and C_(max), respectively). The major parameters, AUC_(t) and C_(max), met the criteria of KDFA for bioequivalence indicating that Enalace^(™) tablet is bioequivalent to Renitec^(™) tablet.

        타리비드 정(오플록사신 100㎎)에 대한 파비드 정의 생물학적동등성

        The purpose of the present study was designed to evaluate the bioequivalence of two ofloxacin tablets, Tarivid (Jell Pharm. Co., Ltd.) and Favid (ILHWA Co., Ltd.), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Twenty-four normal male volunteers, 23.67±3.12 year in age and 68.50±7.23 kg in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized 2x2 cross-over study was employed. After four tablets containing 100 mg of ofloxacin were orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and concentrations of ofloxacin in plasma were deter mined using HPLC. Pharmacokinetic parameters such as AUC_(t) and T_(max) were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters using logarithmically transformed AUC_(t), and C_(max) and untransformed T_(max). There were no sequence effects between two formulations in these parameters. The 90% confidence intervals for the log transformed data were acceptance range of log 0.8 to log 1.25 (e.g., log 0.94-log 1.04 and log 0.90-log 1.07 for AUC_(t) and C_(max) respectively). The major parameters. AUC_(t) and C_(max) met the criteria of KDFA for bioequivalence indicating that Favid tablet is bioequivalent to Tarivid tablet.
