Object The usage of agricultural chemical is on the increasing. Use of pesticides has increased agricultural production. However, negative externalities from such use have increased too. Pesticide poisoning is a major public problem. The purpose if this study is to find out the relationship between keeping the safety rules or protective equipments or attending safety education or dose of pesticides use , and poisoning experience. Methods For Gu, H.M. and Pack, S.G. study , we obtained questionnaire data concerning pesticides poisoming. A person interviews on 203 were conducted in two villages in Sinmeari and woulbonri Chunchun , Kangwon province, July 2002. Result 1. 144 people(70.9%) have sprayed pesticides and the rata of experiences of pesticide poisoning was 26% among 144. Spraying time of pesticides was 1-2 hours in 63.9% of farmers. Rate of using the protective equipment was 25.7% (protective clothes), 49.3% (Mask), 48.6 (Gloves), 7.0 (Protective glasses), 64.6% (boots) respectively. 2. Chi-square and multiple logistic regression analysis showed that Duration of spraying per day (<2hr) and using of mask(protective equipment)are significantly association with poisoning experience.(x^2=5.2684 p=0.0217, CI=0.140-0.5853 OR=0.346 p=0.0211 respectively). But no association between poisoning experience and keeping safety rule, attending of safety education. 3. Spraying pesticides. Duration of spraying pesticides, reading manuals and no spraying at fatigue (keeping safety rule) are significantly association with symptom experience(x^2=14.0621 p=0.0002, x^2=7.0639 p=0.0079, CI01.395-10.950 OR=3.908 p=0.0095, CI=0.101-0.726 OR=0.271 0.0094 respectively). But no association between symptom experience and protective equipments, attending of safety education.

Purpose: Trauma is one of the most common causes of death for children, and identifying severely injured children quickly in an overcrowded emergency room (ER) is difficult. Therefore, severe injury must be prevented, and the severity of injuries in children must be determined easily from their general characteristics and pre-hospital factors. Methods: Injured children younger than 15 years of age who visited the ER from June 2011 to May 2013 were enrolled. According to the revised trauma score (RTS) of the patients, the study population was divided in two groups, a severe group (RTS<7) and a mild group (RTS≥7). The general characteristics and the pre-hospital factors were compared between the two groups. Results: Six hundred seventy-three children were enrolled, their mean age was 8.03 (±4.45) years, and 476 (70.73%) patients were male. Of these patients, 22 patients (3.27%) were in the severe group, and 651 patients (96.73%) were in the mild group. Fewer males were in the severe group than in the mild group (50.00% vs. 71.43%, p=0.030), and children in the severe group were younger than children in the mild group (3.50 vs. 8.00 years, p=0.049). In the severe group, toddlers (54.55%, p=0.036) were the most common age group. Severe injuries occurred more often in spring (32.81%) and summer (54.56%) than in autumn (9.09%) and winter (4.55%) (p=0.026). The most common places of injury in the severe group were roads (50.00%, p=0.009), and the most common mechanisms of injury in the severe group were traffic accidents (50.00%), followed by falls (31.82%) (p=0.011). Most severely injured children were transferred by ambulance (72.73%, p=0.000). Conclusion: The results of this study may be helpful for identifying severely injured children quickly in the field and the ER. To prevent severe pediatric injuries, precautions and policies based on these results should be established. [ J Trauma Inj 2014;27:43-49 ]

An experimental study was performed to investigate the effect of swirl condition and secondary air rate on the Ion voltage and CO emission characteristics. In this study, the combustion characteristics were investigated with the variation of swirler diameter, vane angle, suction air rate. The result of this study, the Ion voltage increase with increasing the diameter of the swirler. Additionally with increasing the suction air rate, the Ion voltage is the same. The CO concentration depends on suction air rate. In the other hand, it is almost unaffected by swirler’s diameter. The flame length and Ion voltage decease with decreasing O2 percentage of surrounding air.

Applications of the plate heat exchanger are being expanded in ships and marine plants. Marine engine L.O(lubricant oil) cooler is one of the applications of the plate heat exchanger. It has very important role as engine radiator in the ship. Lubricant oil is flowed inside ship engine like the land engine and temperature is up to 80~90℃. Some L.O coolers are mounted in the front of the engine, and operating pressure is up to 4~8 ㎏/㎠. Because vibration of engine is passed to L.O cooler, anti-vibration is required. New L.O cooler for medium speed marine engine was developed, and its performance was evaluated by test and provided in this paper.

The present report describes a case that showed a normal fetal karyotype in an antenatal genetic study but on abnormal placental karyotype of 46,XX,r (15) on postnatal examination. The pregnancy was complicated by fetal nuchal translucency in the first trimester and intrauterine growth restriction in the second and third trimesters. A 1780 gm female baby was born after 40 weeks of gestation, but died of respiratory distress and sepsis on the 10th day of life. Our case was unique in that the placental chromosomal aberration was a structural abnormality instead of a numerical, aberration that is seen in most reported cases of confined placental mosaicism.
