Cheonggukjang and chaga mushrooms have numerous health benefits, and have been used in alternative medicine. Therefore, a powder mixture of 98: Cheonggukjang and 2: Chaga extracts was fermented with Lactobacillus acidophilus KCTC3925 (FCC) and its anti-obesity effects in high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obese mice were determined. Five-week-old male ICR mice were fed a normal diet or HFD in the presence or absence of 3% and 5% FCC by weight (n = 10 per group). After 12 weeks, the mice were sacrificed, and the serum and tissue samples were collected for analysis. Body weight and epididymal fat pad weight were significantly lowered in the 3% and 5% FCC groups compared with those in the HFD control group (p < 0.01). FCC supplementation suppressed serum triglyceride and increased serum HDL-C levels (p < 0.01). Serum GOT, GPT, and leptin levels, hepatic COX-2 mRNA expression, and splenic COX-2 and IL-4 mRNA expression were significantly higher in the HFD groups than in the control group (p > 0.05); however, except for splenic IL-4 levels, the increases were significantly attenuated by FCC supplementation. Expression of ICAM-1, an aortic inflammatory marker, was significantly increased in the HFD group; this effect was suppressed in the 3% FCC group (p < 0.01) but not in the 5% FCC group. FCC suppressed the body weight and epididymal fat pad weight gain, as well as inflammatory responses in the liver and spleen of HFD-fed mice. Thus, FCC supplementation will be beneficial for the treatment of obesity-related effects.

수은이 함유된 방전등과 같은 조명기구의 사용이 제한되는 특수구역의 산업용 조명설비로 200 W 이상의 높은 소비전력의 백열등기구들이 사용되고 있다. 인공광원으로 백열전구는 매우 낮은 발광효율로 전력소모가 많고, 높은 방사열로 인해 화재의 염려가 있어 램프보호유리구를 장착하므로 낮은 조명률로 광 손실이 높게 발생한다. 또한 산업지역 내에서는 일반적으로 각종 전동기 및 공기조화 설비의 가동으로 진동이 심하며 여기에 백열전구 사용 시 당초 예상되는 수명보다 더욱 단축되고 있다. 이러한 지역에 설치된 백열등을 조명등기구 효율(Luminaire Efficacy)이 높은 친환경 에너지 절감형 차세대 광원인 LED조명등으로 대체하여 산업설비 지역 내 공급되는 조명용 소비전력을 크게 줄여 에너지 절약효과를 높임과 동시에 양호한 조명율의 LED등기구를 사용함으로써 실내조도를 향상 시키며, 백열전구 대비 색온도가 높은 LED광원을 사용함으로써 조명환경 개선에 따른 작업능률을 높이기 위해 특수지역의 산업용 LED조명등을 개발하였다.
Pore Structure Control of Ordered Mesoporous Silica Film Using Mixed Surfactants

<P>Materials with nanosized and well-arranged pores have been researched actively in order to be applied to new technology fields. Especially, mesoporous material containing various pore structures is expected to have different pore structure. To form a mixed pore structure, ordered mesoporous silica films were prepared with a mixture of surfactant; Brij-76 and P-123 block copolymer. In mixed surfactant system, mixed pore structure was observed in the region of P-123/(Brij-76 + P-123) with about 50.0 wt.% while a single pore structure was observed in regions which have large difference in ratio between Brij-76 and P-123 through the X-ray diffraction analysis. Regardless of surfactant ratio, porosity was retained almost the same. It is expected that ordered mesoporous silica film with mixed pore structure can be one of the new materials which has distinctive properties.</P>

본 연구에서는 중학교 국어 교과과정에 있어서 부진아 학생을 위한 부진 영역을 진단을 지원할 수 있는 시스템을 제안하였다. 제안된 시스템을 학교 수업 현장에 적용함으로써 학습부진 학생들의 수준에 맞는 보충ㆍ심화학습이 이루어져 학습결손과 학습부진을 최소화하여 교수ㆍ학습의 목표를 달성하고 학업성취도를 향상시킬 수 있도록 하였다. 이 시스템에서의 입력은 36가지 변수가 제안된 코팅 기법을 이용하여 시스템을 위하여 학습데이터와 테스트데이터가 인코딩된다. 이 인코딩된 변수의 값들은 시스템의 입력 층의 값이 된다. 은닉 층의 뉴런 수는 학습 데이터를 이용하여 학습한 후 가장 좋은 성능을 보여주는 결과를 이용하여 결정하였다. 출력 층의 뉴런 수든 각 영역에 하나의 뉴런을 할당하여 4개의 뉴런을 사용하였다. 본 시스템을 개발하기 위해 다층 퍼셉트론 구조와 오류 역진파 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 영역진단 지원 시스템을 위해 학습 데이터로써 2,008개를 사용하였고, 테스트를 위하여 380개의 데이터를 사용하여 실험한 후 성능을 평가하였다. In this paper, we proposed the system that supports underachievers realm decision of Korean language curriculum in the middle school. Learning disability and stagnation should be minimized by using and applying the proposed system. The input layer of the system contains 36 variables, which can be specific items in the Koran language curriculum. The variables are encoded with the specific coding schemes. The number of nodes in the hidden layer was determined through a series of learning stage with best result. We assigned 4 neurons, which correspond to one realm of the curriculum to output layer respectively. We used the multilayer perceptron and the error back propagation algorithm to develope the system. A total of 2,008 data [or training and 380 for testing were used for evaluating the performance.
중국인 학습자의 한국어와 중국어 유사발음 비교 분석 및 발음지도 연구 : 폐쇄음을 중심으로

본 논문은 중국인학습자를 대상으로 한국에서 사용하는 한자와 중국어의 유사 · 비유사성이 한국어를 학습하는데 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 진행하였다. 실험대상은 중급단계(한국어학습1년정도)의 중국인학습자이며 실험에 사용한 한자어는 국립국어원에서 제시한 학습용어휘에서 선별하였다. 음성실험범위는 한국어 자음 중 폐쇄음(어두초성)을 대상으로 하였다 음성분석은 컴퓨터상의 WaveSurfer 1.8.5를 사용하였으며 스펙트로그램내 VOT를 측정하였다. 그 밖에 청취실험을 진행하고 이를 통계로 처리하였다. 연구자는 발음이나 의미가 유사한 경우 모국어의 영향으로 발음습득에 효과적이며 유사성이 낮을수록 습득에 어려울 것으로 예상하였다. 실험 결과 중국어의 음운체계에 없는 한국어 발음도 중국어와 발음이 유사한 경우 중국인 학습자의 오류가 낮게 측정되었다. 반면 청취실험에서는 이러한 오류들이 자세히 나타나지 않았는데 이는 한국인의 청취범위가 넓기 때문으로 보인다. 본 연구에서 살펴본 바, 한자 학습은 발음이 유사한 경우에는 한국어 학습에 더 효과적이다. 중급단계로 진행되어 실험대상자의 개인적인 격차가 있었으나 전반적으로 많은 학습자들이 모국어의 영향으로 쉽게 발음을 익힐 수 있었다. 더불어 발음지도시 학습자에게 맞는 교수법을 활용한다면 이러한 격차도 상당히 줄일 것으로 본다. 앞으로 한국어교육에서 한자 교육이 어휘학습 외에도 다양한 학습으로 이용할 수 있도록 발전되기를 바란다. This paper aimed to analyze the influence of similarity of Chinese characters used in Korea and Chinese words used in China on Chinese speakers' learning of the Korean language. The subjects of the experiments were intermediate Chinese learners of Korean (learned Korean about a year) and the Chinese characters used in the experiments were selected from the vocabulary for Korean learning proposed by the National Institute of the Korean Language. Word initial Korean stops were recorded and analyzed. The sound analysis program WaveSurfer 1.8.5 was used for the analysis of the sounds elicited from the experiment and the VOT of each sound was measured. In addition, a sound listening test was conducted. The results of the production and listening tests were statistically analyzed. When the test words are similar in pronunciation or meaning, it is predicted that they would be effective to acquire the L2 pronunciations. On the contrary, when the test words are not similar, they would give the difficulties for the L2 pronunciation acquisition. The outcome of the experiment showed that the Chinese learners could acquire Korean sounds quite well when they are similar to the sounds in Chinese. However this kind of tendency was not clear in the listening test. When the Chinese characters in Korean have the similar sounds to Chinese words, they are effective in Chinese learners' study of the Korean language. Also the appropriate teaching methodology in relation to the sound of the Chinese characters for Chinese learners would be useful. We wish it to be developed in the near future.

Purpose: The tumor suppressor gene p53 has been shown to be a factor in the carcinogenesis or progression of gastric cancer. The mutant p53 has been reported to cause a higher risk of lymph-node metastasis. Futhermore, mutation of the p53 has been linked to a poor prognosis for gastric cancer. The heat shock protein-27 (HSP27), a stress protein, has also been reported to be a poor prognostic factor in ovarian and breast cancers. However, in gastric-cancer patients, controversies exist as to its influence on the prognosis. In the present study, we used an immunohistochemical stain to observe the effects of p53 and HSP27 on the clinicopathological factors and on the prognosis for gastric-cancer patients. Materials and Methods: To evaluate the significance of p53 and HSP27 in gastric cancer patients, we analyzed 212 cases of gastric cancer (stage I.IV). Tissue samples of 212 patients were stained immunohistochemically for the mutant p53 protein and for HSP27. The correlations between protein expression and the clinicopathological factors were investigated. Results: The overall expression rates for p53 and HSP27 were $36.9\%\;and\;27.8\%$, respectively. p53 and HSP27 were correlated to each other because the HSP27 expression rate was higher in the p53-positive group (P=0.046). Statistically, the p53 and the HSP27 expression rates were significantly increased in the case of tumor invasiveness, lymphatic metastasis and vessel involvement. Therefore, they play a role in cancer progression. The 5-year survival rates of the p53-positive and the p53-negative groups were $62.8\%\;and\;60.1\%$, respectively (P=0.793) while the 5-year survival rates for the HSP27-positive and HSP27-negative groups were $54.2\%\;and\;63.1\%$, respectively (P=0.090). Conclusion: p53 and HSP27 were correlated to each other in our immunohistochemical study of gastric carcinomas and they were not independent prognostic factors in gastric- cancer patients. However, further studies are needed to determine their prognostic values for gastric-cancer patients.

Isomotiol(fern-8-en-3-ol) was isolated from the n-hexane fraction of Buphorbia supina Rafin. The structure of Isomotiol was identified by IR, NMR, Mass spectra and compared with the authentic sample. Isomotiol was first isolated from the plants of the Euphorbiaceae family.

We report a case using cerebral oxygen saturation (rCbO2) for off-pump coronary artery bypass graft (OPCAB) surgery in a patient with co-existing Moyamoya disease. The rCbO2 with the routine monitoring for OPCAB surgery were monitored intraoperatively. In spite of infusing nimodipine (0.2 μg/kg/min) and maintaining the end-tidal CO2 tension at 35-40 mmHg, a sudden reduction in the right-side rCbO2 from the base line value of 70-80%/78-83% (Left/Right) to 70-72%/65-70% was developed during the harvesting of the vascular graft. We increased the rate of phenylephrine infusion to increase systemic and cerebral perfusion pressure, and both rCbO2 values were elevated to 80%/70% within 3 minutes. However, the preferential reduction in the right-side rCbO2 compared with the left-side value was not corrected. While suspecting cerebral ischemia due to cerebral vascular spasm, we administered nimodipine 2 mg bolus and increased infusion rate to 0.5 μg/kg/min. Finally, the preferential rCbO2 reduction in the right-side was corrected and both rCbO2 reached 84%/91%. We concluded rCbO2 monitoring is useful for detecting an intraoperative episode of cerebral ischemia and maintaining the optimal cerebral perfusion during OPCAB surgery with Moyamoya disease.
