        In this paper, we present a simulator of flash memory and its card which using USB controller named GDS30C6001. GDS30C6001 for system implementation is a interface controller of MMC and SSFCD card which operated with limit speed 12Mbit/s in USB Ver.1.1 and under circumstances windows 95, 98 and Mac Os 8.1. Using this controller, we implemented functional design such as automatic reading, memory block read/write, memory dump and file property of 8M/16M flash memory and 32M SMC. And with this results, we could effectively process the system design and debugging.

        Real-World Single-Center Experience with Sofosbuvir-Based Regimens for the Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis C Genotype 1 Patients

        Background/Aims: The approval of sofosbuvir (SOF), a direct- acting antiviral, has revolutionized the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV). Methods: We assessed the sustained virological response (SVR) of SOF-based regimens in a real- world single-center setting for the treatment of chronic HCV genotype 1 (G1) patients. This was a retrospective review of chronic HCV G1 adult patients treated with a SOF-based regi-men at Virginia Mason Medical Center between December 2013 and August 2015. Results: The cohort comprised 343 patients. Patients received SOF+ledipasvir (LDV) (n=155), SOF+simeprevir (SIM) (n=154), or SOF+peginterferon (PEG)+ribavirin (RBV) (n=34). Of the patients, 50.1% (n=172) had cirrhosis. The SVR rate was 92.2% for SOF/LDV, 87.0% for SOF/SIM, and 82.4% for SOF/PEG/RBV. Compared with the cirrhotic patients, the patients without cirrhosis had a higher SVR (96.8% vs 85.5%, p=0.01, SOF/LDV; 98.2% vs 80.6%, p=0.002, SOF/SIM; 86.4% vs 75.0%, p=0.41, SOF/ PEG/RBV). In this study, prior treatment experience adversely affected the response rate in subjects treated with SOF/ PEG/RBV. Conclusions: In this single-center, real-world set-ting, the treatment of chronic HCV G1 resulted in a high rate of SVR, especially in patients without cirrhosis. (Gut Liver 2017;11:711-720)

        Case Reports : A case of Leukemoid reaction in a patient with sarcomatous hepatocellular carcinoma

        A leukemoid reaction is defined as reactive leukocytosis exceeding 50,000/mm3, with a significant increase in early neutrophil precursors, and can be a paraneoplastic manifestation of various malignant tumors. A 71-year-old male patient complained of decreased appetite, fatigue, and abdominal fullness. He had a palpable, firm liver, and laboratory investigations suggested leukemoid reaction. Liver dynamic computed tomography revealed a hypervascular mass, and an ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration of the mass confirmed hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with a sarcomatoid component. The leukocyte count of the patient had increased to 147,800/mm3, and he died 10 days after admission. This is a rare case of leukemoid reaction in a patient with sarcomatous HCC.         소화기내과 전임의 수련에 대한 COVID-19의 영향

        목적: COVID-19 유행은 다양한 사회 문화적 변화를 야기하였지만, 소화기내과 전임의 교육에 대한 영향에 대한 연구는 거의 없었다. 이번 연구에서는 소화기내과 전임의 수련에 대한 COVID-19의 영향에 대해 조사하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2021년 2월 15일부터 3월 15일까지 국내 소화기내과 전임의들에게 온라인 기반 설문조사를 발송하였다. 설문은 소화기내과 전임의의 특성, COVID-19의 유행에 대한 인식도, COVID-19과 비대면 진료의 소화기내과 전임의 교육에 대한 영향에 대한 내용으로 구성되었다. 결과: 111건의 설문 결과들 중 94건의 설문 응답을 분석하였다. 소화기내과 전임의들은 COVID-19 유행에 대해 충분한 정보를 제공받고 있었으며(74.7%), 개인보호장구 착용에 대해 잘 교육받고 있었고, 충분히 제공받고 있었다(각각 74.7% 및 83.9%). 하지만, 외래 진료 스케줄과 환자 수는 각각 25.5%와 37.8%의 응답자들이 감소하였다고 응답하였고, 소화기 내시경 검사 세션과 환자 수도 각각 51.1%와 65.6%의 응답자들이 감소하였다고 응답하였다. 그 결과, 응답자들의 78.9%는 COVID-19의 유행으로 교육에 부정적인 영향을 받았다고 답변하였다. COVID-19 유행 동안에 도입된 비대면 진료가 각각 환자와 의사 측면에서 긍정적인 면이 있다고 답변한 응답자들은 불과 20.0%와 10.6%에 불과하였다. 게다가, 응답자들의 25.9%만이 수가가 적절하게 보상되더라도 비대면 진료를 이용하겠다고 응답하였으며, 68.2%의 응답자들은 비대면 진료가 교육에 부정적인 영향이 있다고 응답하였다. 결론: COVID-19 유행은 외래 진료 감소, 소화기 내시경 검사 감소, 온라인 컨퍼런스, 비대면 진료 도입을 통해 국내 소화기내과 전임의들의 교육에 부정적인 영향이 있었다. COVID-19와 같은 감염병 유행 시에 소화기내과 전임의 교육에 대한 대책 마련이 필요하다. Background/Aims: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak caused numerous social and cultural changes, but few studies focused on their effects on gastroenterology (GI) fellowship training. This study evaluated the impact of COVID-19 on GI fellowship training. Methods: A web-based questionnaire was sent out to GI fellows in Korea between 15 February and 15 March 2021. The questionnaire included questions regarding the characteristics of GI fellows, perception of COVID-19 outbreak, impact of COVID-19 outbreak, and telemedicine on the education of a GI fellowship. Results: Among 111 answers, 94 respondents were analyzed. The GI fellows were provided with sufficient information about the COVID-19 outbreak (74.7%), well educated, and provided with personal protective equipment use (74.7% and 83.9%, respectively). On the other hand, outpatient schedule and volume decreased in 25.5% and 37.8% of respondents, respectively. Moreover, endoscopy sessions and volume decreased in 51.1% and 65.6% of respondents, respectively. As a result, 78.9% of respondents were concerned that the COVID-19 outbreak adversely affected their education. Telemedicine utilization was introduced during the COVID-19 outbreak, but only 20.0% and 10.6% of respondents agreed that telemedicine has benefits from the patient’s and doctor’s perspectives, respectively. In addition, only 25.9% of respondents were willing to continue telemedicine if adequately reimbursed, and 68.2% of respondents were concerned that it adversely affected their education. Conclusions: The COVID-19 outbreak has adversely affected GI fellowship training in Korea for outpatient clinics, gastrointestinal endoscopy, educational conferences, and telemedicine. This study highlights that GI fellowship training needs more attention in the COVID-19 outbreak. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2021;77:205-213)

        전자선 가교된 유리섬유 강화 나일론 12의 열적 거동 및 내마모 특성

        나일론 12의 열적 거동 및 내마모 특성을 확인하기 위해서 100∼600 kGy로 조사선량을 달리 하여 전자선가교 반응을 진행하였다. 가교효과를 증대시키기 위해서 TAC, TAIC, TMPTMA의 가교제를 추가로 사용하였다. 나일론 12는 200 kGy 이상 전자선 가교가 진행되어야 높은 젤화율을 보이며, 조사선량이 증가할수록 결정성이 낮아져 T(m)과 DSC 피크 면적이 서서히 감소되는 것을 확인하였고, 또한 열분해 온도가 상승하여 열적 안정성이 우수 해짐을 확인하였다. 그리고 나일론 12의 내마모 특성도 향상되어 가교 전과 비교하였을 때 마모량, 마모계수가 감소하는 경향을 나타내었고, 마모 표면을 SEM 분석을 통해서 확인하였다. 나일론 12에 첨가된 가교제는 전자선 가교 시 우수한 가교 효과를 나타내며, 열적, 내마모 특성을 향상시키는 것으로 확인되었다. In this study, the effects of the electron beam irradiation on the thermal behavior and the abrasion properties of the glass fiber reinforced nylon 12 was investigated. The electron beam irradiation was carried out over a range of irradiation dose from 100 to 600 kGy with additive crosslinking agents such as triallyl cyanurate (TAC), triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) and trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TMPTMA) for enhancing the crosslinking effects. The gel contents were increased dramatically above 200 kGy. It was verified that the degree of crosslinking depends on the radiation dose. The decreases of the melting temperature and the area of endothermic peak were observed as increasing the absorbed dose in the results of DSC analysis. The enhanced thermal stability was confirmed by the increases of decomposition temperature by electron beam irradiation. Furthermore, the negative deviations of the abrasion loss and the abrasion coefficients confirmed the improvement of the abrasion properties of irradiated nylon 12, as evidenced by SEM observation on the abrasion surfaces. The addition of the crosslinking agents to nylon 12 during effectively improved the thermal behavior and the abrasion properties of nylon 12 by the electron beam irradiation.

      • Isolation of cellulose fibers from kenaf using electron beam

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Cellulose fibers were isolated from a kenaf bast fiber using a electron beam irradiation (EBI) treatment. The methods of isolation were based on a hot water treatment after EBI and two-step bleaching processes. FT-IR spectroscopy demonstrated that the content of lignin and hemicellulose in the bleached cellulose fibers treated with various EBI doses decreased with increasing doses of EBI. Specifically, the lignin in the bleached cellulose fibers treated at 300kGy, was almost completely removed. Moreover, XRD analyses showed that the bleached cellulose fibers treated at 300kGy presented the highest crystallinity of all the samples treated with EBI. Finally, the morphology of the bleached fiber was characterized by SEM imagery, and the studies showed that the separated degree of bleached cellulose fibers treated with various EBI doses increased with an increase of EBI dose, and the bleached cellulose fibers obtained by EBI treatment at 300kGy was separated more uniformly than the bleached cellulose fiber obtained by alkali cooking with non-irradiated kenaf fiber.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P><P>► This study was to provide a progressive and convenient cellulose isolation process. ► Using an electron beam irradiation, we can obtain cellulose fibers using only water without chemicals during cooking process. ► We think that this cellulose isolation method will have an effect on enormous environmental and economic benefits.</P>

        Effect of electron beam irradiation on polyimide film

        The effects of electron beam radiation on polyimide films were investigated through dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), in which the energy of the electron beam was set to a voltage of 1 MeVand a beam current of 4 mA. The b2 sub-glass relaxation temperature of polyimide decreased with irradiation dose, consisting with formation of free radicals at the ends of the molecular chains. The glass relaxation temperatures are not influenced as a function of increasing electron beam exposure because imide rings prevent structural damage by electron beam irradiation. Furthermore, decomposition temperatures of the irradiated polyimide slightly decrease, from 571.42 to 570.67 8C and the residue weight also decreases.
