An RFID system comprises a reader and a tag, and this dissertation focuses on a tag design. A UHF tag is activated by energy supply using electromagnetic waves and energy reflection through impedance mismatching. The tag uses a 0.25㎜ CMOS process and comprises a digital part executing tag protocols, a 512-bit memory, and an analog part comprising a rectifier, a modulation/demodulation unit, a clock generator, etc. The total dimension of the tag, including a saw line, is 750㎽*750㎽ and tag consumption power is about 17.8㎽ at a supply voltage of 2V.

Purpose: There is no effective treatment for patientswith advanced gastric cancer having failed to respond tofirst line chemotherapy. The aim of this study was toevaluate the therapeutic activity, and safety, of a FEPregimen in patients with a recurrence of, or metastatic,gastric cancer that had been unresponsive to primarychemotherapy.Materials and Methods: Recurred or metastatic gastriccancer patients that did not respond to a 5-fluorouracilbased regimen were entered into this trial. The patientswere treated with FEP (5-FU, etoposide and cisplatin) assalvage chemotherapy. The treatment regimen was 5-FU(900 mg/m2/day) by continuous infusion for 3 days, etoposide(90 mg/m2/day) on days 1, 2 and 3, and cisplatin(60 mg/m2/day) on day 2. This treatment was repeatedevery 3 weeks.Results: Between December 1997 and October 2001, 28patients were enrolled to the study. The response rate was32.1% (95% CI 15.5~57.8%). The median times to progressionand survival duration were 23~33 weeks, respectively.Among a total of 187 cycles of chemotherapy, the grade3 and 4 hematological toxicities were leukopenia (6.4%),thrombocytopenia (1.6%), and grade 3 non-hematologicalside effects of nausea/vomiting (17.9%).Conclusion: FEP combination chemotherapy seems tobe an effective treatment regimen for gastric cancer assalvage chemotherapy. To confirm these results, largescale of clinical trials will be required. (Cancer Res Treat. 2002;34:382-387)

In the knowledge-based economy, the technology is very important intangible asset. It is especially true for those small and medium sized enterprises that do not possess significant resources. In order to innovate or enhance the enterprise"s technology, open innovation could be an answer. Open Innovation, an opposite of closed innovation, is often used as a tool in gaining useful resources. University-Industry Cooperation and regionally operated so called, Technopark is most commonly used in industry, academic, and R&D cooperation. This Study reviews and compare two different evaluation models of government supported R&D organizations: University-Industry Cooperation, Technopark. This Study is necessary to obtain overall insights of organizations and their performances. By comparing two different yet, similar in operations could provide the managerial implications to enhance the performances. This Study proposes the performance evaluation model and indexes of University-Industry Cooperation, and it suggests the comparative review of such based on the performance evaluation model of Technopark. University-Industry Cooperation"s performance evaluation model; when it is compared to the Technopark, lacks in leadership, strategy, and process related evaluation methods; therefore, it is difficult to analyze one"s performance accurately and should adapt or apply additional indexes.

Background/Aims: South Korean soldiers are exposed to similar environmental factors. In this study, we sought to evaluate the gut microbiome of healthy young male soldiers (HYMS) and to identify the primary factors influencing the microbiome composition. Methods: We prospectively collected stool from 100 HYMS and performed next-generation sequencing of the 16S rRNA genes of fecal bacteria. Clinical data, including data relating to the diet, smoking, drinking, and exercise, were collected. Results: The relative abundances of the bacterial phyla Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Proteobacteria were 72.3%, 14.5%, 8.9%, and 4.0%, respectively. Fifteen species, most of which belonged to Firmicutes (87%), were detected in all examined subjects. Using cluster analysis, we found that the subjects could be divided into the two enterotypes based on the gut microbiome bacterial composition. Compared with enterotype 2 subjects, subjects classified as enterotype 1 tended to be characterized by higher frequencies of potentially harmful lifestyle habits (current smoker: 55.6% vs 36.6%, p=0.222; heavy drinker: 16.7% vs 3.7%, p=0.120; insufficient physical activity: 27.8% vs 14.6%, p=0.318). We identified a significant difference in the microbiome compositions of current and noncurrent smokers (p=0.008); the former differed from the latter mainly in a relatively lower abundance of Bifidobacterium species and a higher abundance of Negativicutes. Conclusions: A high abundance of Actinobacteria and low abundance of Bacteroidetes were the main features distinguishing the gut microbiomes of HYMS, and current smokers could be differentiated from noncurrent smokers by their lower abundance of Bifidobacterium and higher abundance of Negativicutes. The application of reliability analysis for the design of storm sewer

본 연구에서는 신뢰성해석기법을 이용하여 우수관에 대한 최적설계기법을 제시하였다. 최근 빈번히 일어나고 있는 국지성호우에 대해 기존의 결정론적 설계기법으로는 우수관의 용량을 초과하여 도시침수가 일어나기 쉽다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 우수관의 설계변수들을 확률변수로 인식하는 추계학적 기법이 필요하다. 이를 위해서 본 연구에서는 FORM (First Order Reliability Method)을 사용하여 우수관의 신뢰성해석모 형을 개발하였다. 개발된 신뢰성해석기법은 5개 지역의 실제 구축된 우수관에 적용하여 안전도를 분석하고 공사비증가에 따른 안전도의 변화를 분석하였다. 다섯 개 지역의 빈도별 강우강도를 분석하고 신뢰성해석을 통해 우수관의 용량초과확률을 정량적으로 산정할 수 있었다. In this study, the optimum design technology is suggested by using reliability analysis method. Nowadays, urban flood inundation is easily occurred because of local heavy rain. Traditional deterministic design method for storm sewer may underestimate the size of pipe. Therefore, stochastic method for the storm sewer design is necessary to solve this problem. In the present study, reliability model using FORM (First Order Reliability Method) was developed for the storm sewer. Developed model was applied to the real storm sewers of 5 different areas. Probability of exceeding capacity has been calculated and construction costs according to diameter have been compared. Probability of exceeding capacity of storm sewers of 5 areas have been calculated after estimating the return period of rainfall intensity.
