A Mask Wearing Detection System Based on Deep Learning

Yang, Shilong,Xu, Huanhuan,Yang, Zi-Yuan,Wang, Changkun Korea Multimedia Society 2021 The journal of multimedia information system Vol.8 No.3

COVID-19 has dramatically changed people's daily life. Wearing masks is considered as a simple but effective way to defend the spread of the epidemic. Hence, a real-time and accurate mask wearing detection system is important. In this paper, a deep learning-based mask wearing detection system is developed to help people defend against the terrible epidemic. The system consists of three important functions, which are image detection, video detection and real-time detection. To keep a high detection rate, a deep learning-based method is adopted to detect masks. Unfortunately, according to the suddenness of the epidemic, the mask wearing dataset is scarce, so a mask wearing dataset is collected in this paper. Besides, to reduce the computational cost and runtime, a simple online and real-time tracking method is adopted to achieve video detection and monitoring. Furthermore, a function is implemented to call the camera to real-time achieve mask wearing detection. The sufficient results have shown that the developed system can perform well in the mask wearing detection task. The precision, recall, mAP and F1 can achieve 86.6%, 96.7%, 96.2% and 91.4%, respectively.

DHEM: a deep heat energy method for steady-state heat conduction problems

        Huanhuan Gao,Wenjie Zuo,Zengming Feng,Jinxing Yang,Tingting Li,Ping Hu 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.11

Based on the deep energy method recently brought forward to handle linearelastic or hyper-elastic finite deformation problems in solid mechanics, in this paper, we propose a deep heat energy method (DHEM) which is specially tailored to deal with structural steady-state heat conduction problems with the help of deep learning techniques. In our work, the deep neural networks are utilized to construct the admissible temperature fields; secondly, the potential energy functional in the heat conduction process which works as the loss function of the deep neural networks is calculated by numerical integration techniques; finally, the parameters of the network including weights and bias, are optimized by the quasi-Newton method to yield the minimal of the potential energy functional which indicates the heat conduction has entered a steady state. Numerical examples with a diversity of materials, including the isotropic and homogeneous material, the orthotropic material, the non-homogeneous materials and temperature dependent materials, are carried out to illustrate the validity and capacity of DHEM in both linear uncoupled and thermal-material coupling heat conduction problems.

Upregulation of miR-20b Protects Against Cerebral Ischemic Stroke by Targeting Thioredoxin Interacting Protein (TXNIP)

        Dejiang Yang,Yu Tan,Huanhuan Li,Xiaowei Zhang,Xinming Li,Feng Zhou 한국뇌신경과학회 2021 Experimental Neurobiology Vol.30 No.2

Dysregulation of microRNAs (miRNAs) is involved in abnormal development and pathophysiology in the brain. Although miR-20b plays essential roles in various human diseases, its function in cerebral ischemic stroke remains unclear. A cell model of oxygen glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) and A rat model of middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (MCAO/R) were constructed. qRT-PCR and western blot were used to evaluate the expression of miR-20b and TXNIP. Cell viability was detected by MTT assay, and cell apoptosis was evaluated by flow cytometry. Targetscan and Starbase were used to predict the potential targets of miR-20b. Luciferase reporter assay was applied to determine the interaction between miR-20b and TXNIP. Rescue experiments were conducted to confirm the functions of miR-20b/TXNIP axis in cerebral ischemic stroke. MiR-20b was significantly downregulated after I/R both in vitro and in vivo. Upregulation of miR-20b inhibited OGD/R-induced neurons apoptosis and attenuated ischemic brain injury in rat model. Bioinformatic prediction suggested that TXNIP might be a target of miR-20b, and luciferase reporter assay revealed that miR-20b negatively regulated TXNIP expression by directly binding to the 3’-UTR of TXNIP. Downregulation of TXNIP inhibited OGD/R-induced neurons apoptosis in vitro and ischemic brain injury in vivo. Rescue experiments indicated that downregulation of TXNIP effectively reversed the effect of miR-20b inhibitor in neurons apoptosis after OGD/R-treatment and ischemic brain injury in a mouse model after MCAO/R-treatment. Our study demonstrated that upregulation of miR-20b protected the brain from ischemic brain injury by targeting TXNIP, extending our understanding of miRNAs in cerebral ischemic stroke

Multibody dynamics analysis of a silent chain drive timing system

        Jinxing Yang,Zengming Feng,Huanhuan Gao,Tianrui Wang,Kai Xu 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.4

Multibody dynamics analysis of a silent chain drive timing system can quickly detect system defects in the product design stage and shorten the development cycle. At present, most of the research on chain drives focuses on roller chains. A 3D silent chain drive timing system model considering the fluctuation of crankshaft sprocket speed and camshaft sprocket torque was established in this paper based on recursive algorithm and Hertz contact theory. The accuracy of the model was verified by comparing the experimental and simulation results of the chain tension. The simulation results show that the chain tension fluctuation with time is obviously affected by the camshaft torque fluctuation, and the maximum chain tension ranges from 233 N to 1202 N, which is less than the safe rotation fatigue limit 1600 N. When the crankshaft sprocket speed is 6000 r/min, the maximum contact force between the chain and crankshaft sprocket and slack guide is 751 N and 588 N, respectively. The maximum chain fluctuation caused by meshing impact between chain and sprocket and polygon effect is 0.52 mm and 0.48 mm, respectively. The system transmission error ranges from 0.14° to 0.38°, which is less than 1° of the maximum allowable transmission error.

Reliable control of magnetic vortex chirality in asymmetrically optimized magnetic nanodisk

        Zhang Huanhuan,Yu Hai,Zhang Xue-Feng,Yang Xiao-Xue,Shim Je-Ho,Ma Xiao-Ping,Piao Hong-Guang 한국물리학회 2022 Current Applied Physics Vol.43 No.-

Magnetic vortex has attracted attention in the field of information storage because their topological spin structures with chiral bistable states. If the vortex core polarity and vortex circulation sense can be controlled simultaneously in a nanodisk, which will be more beneficial to realize the multi-bit ultrahigh density storage. In this paper, a reliable control scheme for magnetic vortex chirality is proposed by optimizing the structure of Pac- Man-like nanodisk. The results show that the polarity and circulation of the vortex can be controlled simultaneously by changing the direction of the global magnetic field, and even the chiral states of the vortex can be determined by detecting the stray field distribution on the surface of the nanodisk. The optimized Pac-Man-like nanodisk provide an experimental method for the control and detection of magnetic vortex chirality, which will be beneficial to the realization of multi-bit magnetic storage or magnetic logic technology in the future.

Biocontrol activity of volatile organic compounds from Streptomyces alboflavus TD-1 against Aspergillus flavus growth and aflatoxin production

        Mingguan Yang,Laifeng Lu,Jing Pang,Yiling Hu,Qingbin Guo,Zhenjing Li,Shufen Wu,Huanhuan Liu,Changlu Wang 한국미생물학회 2019 The journal of microbiology Vol.57 No.5

Aspergillus flavus is a saprophytic fungus that contaminates crops with carcinogenic aflatoxin. In the present work, the antifungal effects of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from Streptomyces alboflavus TD-1 against A. flavus were investigated. VOCs from 8-day-old wheat bran culture of S. alboflavus TD-1 displayed strong inhibitory effects against mycelial growth, sporulation, and conidial germination of A. flavus. Severely misshapen conidia and hyphae of A. flavus were observed by scanning electron microscopy after exposure to VOCs for 6 and 12 h, respectively. Rhodamine 123 staining of mitochondria indicated that mitochondria may be a legitimate antifungal target of the VOCs from S. alboflavus TD-1. Furthermore, the VOCs effectively inhibited aflatoxin B1 production by downregulating genes involved in aflatoxin biosynthesis. Dimethyl trisulfide and benzenamine may play important roles in the suppression of A. flavus growth and production of aflatoxin. The results indicate that VOCs from S. alboflavus TD-1 have tremendous potential to be developed as a useful bio-pesticide for controlling A. flavus.

Preparation and Investigation of Reinforced PVP Blend Membranes for High Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membranes

        Xiaorui Ren,Huanhuan Li,Ke Liu,Hongyi Lu,Jingshuai Yang,Ronghuan He 한국섬유공학회 2018 Fibers and polymers Vol.19 No.12

Poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP), as the low-cost and commercial material, exhibits superior phosphoric acid doping capability due to the presence of heterocycle and carbonyl groups in the repeat unit. However, it can’t be used as the high temperature polymer electrolyte membrane (HT-PEM) alone because of its significant hydrophilicity and poor mechanical stability. In the present work, polyethersulfone (PES), polysulfone (PSU), polyetherketone-cardo (PEK-c), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PHFP), five kinds of engineering thermoplastics with excellent mechanical properties and chemical inertness, are chosen to prepare a series of PVP blend membranes by the polymer blending method in order to enhance the dimensional and mechanical stabilities of PVP based membranes. The influence of structures of enhanced polymers on properties of HT-PEMs was investigated systematically. PVP blend membranes with aromatic polymers (i.e. PES, PSU and PEK-c) exhibited decreased volume swellings, increased acid doping contents, superior conductivities and improved mechanical strengths, which determined that they are more suitable for electrolytes of fuel cell applications comparing with PVP/PVDF and PVP/PHFP membranes blended with aliphatic polymers.

Analysis of Peripheral B Cell Subsets in Patients With Allergic Rhinitis

        Jing Luo,Huanhuan Guo,Zhuofu Liu,Tao Peng,Xianting Hu,Miaomiao Han,Xiangping Yang,Xuhong Zhou,Huabin Li 대한천식알레르기학회 2018 Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Research Vol.10 No.3

Purpose: Recent evidence suggests that B cells can both promote and inhibit the development and progression of allergic disease. However, the characteristics of B cell subsets in patients with allergic rhinitis (AR) have not been well documented. This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of B cell subsets in the peripheral blood of AR patients. Methods: Forty-seven AR patients and 54 healthy controls were enrolled in this study, and the B cell subsets in peripheral blood of all subjects were analyzed by flow cytometry. Moreover, the serum total immunoglobulin E (IgE) and IgE concentrations secreted into the cultured peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were measured by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: We found the peripheral blood of AR patients contained higher percentages of memory B cells, plasma cells, and CD19+CD24hiCD27+ regulatory B cells (Bregs) than those of age-matched healthy controls (P<0.05), while the percentages of naïve B cells and CD19+CD24hiCD38hi Bregs were significantly lower in AR patients than in healthy individuals (P<0.05). In addition, the serum total IgE and IgE concentrations secreted into the cultured PBMCs were elevated in AR patients than in the healthy controls (P<0.05). Conclusions: Our findings indicate that AR patients were characterized by increase in terminally differentiated memory B cells or plasma cells and decreases in CD19+CD24hiCD38hi Breg cells in the peripheral blood.

QoS-Aware Approach for Maximizing Rerouting Traffic in IP Networks

( Wenyan Cui ),( Xiangru Meng ),( Huanhuan Yang ),( Qiaoyan Kang ),( Zhiyuan Zhao ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.9

Network resilience provides an effective way to overcome the problem of network failure and is crucial to Internet protocol (IP) network management. As one of the main challenges in network resilience, recovering from link failure is important to maintain the constancy of packets being transmitted. However, existing failure recovery approaches do not handle the traffic engineering problem (e.g., tuning the routing-protocol parameters to optimize the rerouting traffic flow), which may cause serious congestions. Moreover, as the lack of QoS (quality of service) restrictions may lead to invalid rerouting traffic, the QoS requirements (e.g., bandwidth and delay) should also be taken into account when recovering the failed links. In this paper, we first develop a probabilistically correlated failure model that can accurately reflect the correlation between link failures, with which we can choose reliable backup paths (BPs). Then we construct a mathematical model for the failure recovery problem, which takes maximum rerouting traffic as the optimizing objective and the QoS requirements as the constraints. Moreover, we propose a heuristic algorithm for link failure recovery, which adopts the improved k shortest path algorithm to splice the single BP and supplies more protection resources for the links with higher priority. We also prove the correctness of the proposed algorithm. Moreover, the time and space complexity are also analyzed. Simulation results under NS2 show that the proposed algorithm improves the link failure recovery rate and increases the QoS satisfaction rate significantly.

Purification, characterization and action mechanism of plantaricin JY22, a novel bacteriocin against Bacillus cereus produced by Lactobacillus plantarum JY22 from golden carp intestine

        Xinran Lv,Luhuan Miao,Huanhuan Ma,Fengling Bai,Yang Lin,Mengtong Sun,Jianrong Li 한국식품과학회 2018 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.27 No.3

A novel bacteriocin-producing strain, Lactobacillus plantarum JY22 isolated from golden carp intestine, was screened and identified by its physiobiochemical characteristics and 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. This bacteriocin, named plantaricin JY22, was purified using ethyl acetate extraction and gel filtration. Its molecular weight was approximately 4.1 kDa by SDS-PAGE analysis. The partial amino acid sequence of plantaricin JY22 was DFGFDIPDEV. It was highly heat-stable and remained active at pH range from 2.5 to 5.5, but was sensitive to protease. Plantaricin JY22 had a bactericidal mode. Scanning electron microscope analysis indicated that plantaricin JY22 damaged the morphology of cells and spores for Bacillus cereus. Moreover, the plantaricin JY22 destroyed cell membrane integrity as confirmed by the leakage of electrolytes, the losses of Na?K?-ATP, AKP, nucleic acids (OD260nm) and proteins. SDS-PAGE of B. cereus proteins further demonstrated that plantaricin JY22 had a remarkable effect on bacterial proteins.
