A simple approach to the elasto-plastic coupling analyses of circular tunnels in confining pressure-dependent strain-softening rock masses

        Qiang Zhang,Cheng Li,Qiang Guo,Ming Min,Yanning Wang,Binsong Jiang 한국자원공학회 2017 Geosystem engineering Vol.20 No.5

The conventional strain-softening behaviors which assume the strength parameters as the functions of the plastic strain have been studied using various methods. However, rock-like materials have also been found to manifest pressure-dependent behavior for both elastic and plastic rock masses. The realization of the radial stress was found to be continuous, and gradually increased from supporting stress to in situ stress for the circular openings under hydrostatic pressure. The radial stress was spaced as numbers of sections, and each annulus was considered as an ideal plastic rock mass. The close-formed analytical solutions of each annulus can be easily obtained. Therefore, using the displacement continuum and stress boundary conditions, the dimensionless radius corresponding to the spaced radius could be derived. The radial stress and plastic shear strain at the inner radius of the outer adjacent annulus were employed to describe the material property evolution law. Then, the radii could be recursively obtained. Finally, for the conventional strain-softening rock masses, the pressure-dependent elastic rock and elasto-plastic coupling strain-softening rock masses were employed to validate the proposed approach. In this study, having completed the above steps, it was concluded that the results were in accordance with the numerical methods.

Identification and sex expression profiles of olfactory-related genes in Mythimna loreyi based on antennal transcriptome analysis

        Zhang Yun-Ying,Guo Jin-Meng,Wei Zhi-Qiang,Zhang Xiao-Tong,Liu Si-Ruo,Guo Hui-Fang,Dong Shuanglin 한국응용곤충학회 2022 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.25 No.2

To better understand the olfactory mechanism of Mythimna loreyi, a worldwide migratory pest, we for the first time conducted a large scale identification of olfactory-related genes and investigation of their sex expression profiles by transcriptomic analysis. A total of 42,832 unigenes were obtained by transcriptome sequencing, as sembly and annotation, with an average length of 1,229 bp and N50 of 2,086 bp. In particular, 138 olfactoryrelated genes were identified by homologous blasting, including 33 odorant binding proteins (OBPs), 16 che mosensory proteins (CSPs), 63 odorant receptors (ORs), 24 ionotropic receptors (IRs) and two sensory neuron membrane proteins (SNMPs). Further, by using differential gene expression (DGE) and fragments per kilobase per million fragments (FPKM) values to compare the transcript levels between female and male antennae, we found that 22 olfactory-related genes (9 OBPs, one CSP and 12 ORs) were sex biased, with 10 genes being male biased and 12 genes female biased. In addition, sex and tissue expression profiles determined by qPCR of 15 selected genes confirmed the reliability of sex expression profiles obtained by the transcriptomic analysis, and demonstrated that most olfactory-related genes were specifically or primarily expressed in antennae, suggesting their roles in olfaction, while a few genes were highly expressed in other tissues, implying their non-olfaction functions. This study provides an important basis for further functional study of olfactory genes in M. loreyi.

A Potent Brucella abortus 2308 Δery Live Vaccine Allows for the Differentiation between Natural and Vaccinated Infection

        Junbo Zhang,Shuanghong Yin,Fei Guo,Ren Meng,Chuangfu Chen,Hui Zhang,Zhi-qiang Li,Qiang Fu,Huijun Shi,Shengwei Hu,Wei Ni,Tiansen Li,Ke Zhang 한국미생물학회 2014 The journal of microbiology Vol.52 No.8

Brucellosis is a globally distributed zoonotic disease that causes animal and human diseases. However, the current Brucella abortus vaccines (S19 and RB51) are deficient; they can cause abortion in pregnant animals. Moreover, when the vaccine S19 is used, tests cannot differentiate natural from vaccinated infection. Therefore, a safer and more potent vaccine is needed. A Brucella abortus 2308 ery promoter mutant (Δery) was constructed to overcome these drawbacks. The growth of the Δery mutant was significantly attenuated in macrophages and mice and induced high protective immunity in mice. Moreover, Δery induced an anti-Brucellaspecific IgG (immunoglobulin G) response and stimulated the expression of interferon-gamma (INF-γ) and interleukin-4 (IL-4). Furthermore, the expression of EryA antigen allowed for the serological differentiation between natural and vaccinated infection in mice. These results indicate that the Δery mutant is a potential attenuated live vaccine candidate against virulent Brucella abortus 2308 (S2308) infection.

Immunization of BALB/c mice with Brucella abortus 2308DwbkA confers protection against wild-type infection

        Zhi-qiang Li,Dan Gui,Zhi-hua Sun,Jun-bo Zhang,Wen-zhi Zhang,Hui Zhang,Fei Guo,Chuangfu Chen 대한수의학회 2015 Journal of Veterinary Science Vol.16 No.4

Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease that causes animal and human diseases. Vaccination is a major measure for prevention of brucellosis, but it is currently not possible to distinguish vaccinated animals from those that have been naturally infected. Therefore, in this study, we constructed the Brucella (B.) abortus 2380 wbkA mutant (2308DwbkA) and evaluated its virulence. The survival of 2308DwbkA was attenuated in murine macrophage (RAW 264.7) and BALB/c mice, and it induced high protective immunity in mice. The wbkA mutant elicited an anti-Brucella-specific immunoglobulin G response and induced the secretion of gamma interferon. Antibodies to 2308DwbkA could be detected in sera from mice, implying the potential for use of this protein as a diagnostic antigen. The WbkA antigen would allow serological differentiation between infected and vaccinated animals. These results suggest that 2308DwbkA is a potential attenuated vaccine against 16M. This vaccine will be further evaluated in sheep.

무형문화유산에 대한 중국의 시각 -무속 관련 무형문화유산을 중심으로-

장국강 ( Guo Qiang Zhang ) 경상대학교 남명학연구소 2015 남명학연구 Vol.45 No.-

By analyzing the current situations and problems of folklore-related cultural heritage, this article probes into the formation process of protection policies and features of intangible cultural heritage in China. Entering the 21st century, traditional cultures have been laidemphasison by Chinese government and listed as “Great Chinese Heritage”. Since China’s joining into United Nations Protection Organization of In tangible Cultural Heritage, then umber of in tangible cultural heritages that have been explored and arranged has a mounted to 8328. The folklore-related intangible cultural heritage in China includes Shamanism in the North and Nuo in the South. While most of Shamanism has lost in touch in North, researches on Nuo became the key and have been done in the forms of traditional dances and traditional dramas. The protection of Nuo-related intangible cultural heritage from both national and local governments has eradicated people’s bais towards Folklore Culture and stablized its cultural value. However, as a traditional belief rooted into people’s mind, the essence of Folklore Culture can not be fully identified if it is only classified into two simple forms of dances and dramas.

A New Control Strategy for a Three-Phase PWM Current-Source Rectifier in the Stationary Frame

        Qiang Guo,Heping Liu,Yi Zhang 전력전자학회 2015 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.15 No.4

This paper presents a novel power control strategy for PWM current-source rectifiers (CSRs) in the stationary frame based on the instantaneous power theory. In the proposed control strategy, a virtual resistance based on the capacitor voltage feedback is used to realize the active damping. In addition, the proportional resonant (PR) controller under the two-phase stationary coordinate is designed to track the ac reference current and to avoid the strong coupling brought about by the coordinate transformation. The limitations on improving steady-state performance of the PR controller is investigated and mitigated using a cascaded lead-lag compensator. In the z-domain, a straightforward procedure is developed to analyze and design the control-loop with the help of MATLAB/SISO software tools. In addition, robustness against parameter variations is analyzed. Finally, simulation and experimental results verify the proposed control scheme and design method.

      • Genetic Variations in the HIF1A Gene Modulate Response to Adjuvant Chemotherapy after Surgery in Patients with Colorectal Cancer

        Zhang, Yi,Wang, Peng,Zhou, Xing-Chun,Bao, Guo-Qiang,Lyu, Zhuo-Ming,Liu, Xiao-Nan,Wan, Shao-Gui,He, Xian-Li,Huang, Qi-Chao Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.11

Background: Hypoxia-inducible factor $1{\alpha}$ (HIF-$1{\alpha}$) plays an important role in regulating cell survival and angiogenesis, which are critical for tumor growth and metastasis. Genetic variations of HIF1A have been shown to influence the susceptibility to many kinds of human tumors. Increased expression of HIF-$1{\alpha}$ has also been demonstrated to be involved in tumor progression. However, the prognostic value of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) inthe HIF1A gene remains to be determined in most cancer types, including colorectal cancer (CRC). In this study, we sought to investigate the predictive role of HIF1A SNPs in prognosis of CRC patients and efficacy of chemotherapy. Materials and Methods: We genotyped two functional SNPs in HIF1A gene using the Sequenom iPLEX genotyping system and then assessed their associations with clinicopathological parameters and clinical outcomes of 697 CRC patients receiving radical surgery using Cox logistic regression model and Kaplan Meier curves. Results: Generally, no significant association was found between these 2 SNPs and clinical outcomes of CRC. In stratified analysis of subgroup without adjuvant chemotherapy, patients carrying CT/TT genotypes of rs2057482 exhibited a borderline significant association with better overall survival when compared with those carrying CC genotype [Hazard ratio (HR), 0.47; 95% confidence interval (95% CI): 0.29-0.76; P < 0.01]. Moreover, significant protective effects on CRC outcomes conferred by adjuvant chemotherapy were exclusively observed in patients carrying CC genotype of rs2057482 and in those carrying AC/CC genotype of rs2301113. Conclusions: Genetic variations in HIF1A gene may modulate the efficacy of adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery in CRC patients.
