핍지신경교종은 두개강 내 전 종양의 2.2~5.6%를 차지하고 성별의 차이 없이 성인에서 호발하며 주로 전두엽에 흔히 발생한다. 문헌상 20세 이전의 소아에서 발생하는 율은 약 0.9%이며 성인과 비교하여 현저히 낮은 빈도를 보이고 있다. 단순 두개골 X-선 촬영상 40∼60%에서 석회화침착을 보이며 뇌전산화 단층촬영의 도입으로 진단에 많은 발전을 가져왔다. The oligodendroglioma accounts for 2.2~5.6% of all intracranial tumors. It occurs frequently in adult without sexual differences and mainly in frontal lobe. From review of the literature it occurs less frequently in children than in adult, with the percentage of 0.9%. 40∼60% of the oligodendroglioma reveals the calcification density on plain skull X-ray and recently the diagnosis of the tumor has become easier than before by use of CT-scan.

본 교실에서는 1981넌 6월부터 1982년 12월까지 경련 발작을 주소로 본 병원 신경외과에 입원한 환자 34명을 대상으로 임상적 고찰을 하였다. 조사 예에서는 전신 발작이 초점성 발작보다 2배 이상 빈도가 높았고 대발작은 남자에서, 초점성 발작은 여자에서 많이 나타났다. 약 65%에서 전구증상이 있었고, 성별의 차이는 거의 없었다. 34예 중 뇌전산하 단층촬영상 이상 소견을 보인 예는 19예로 55.9%였으며, 원인별로는 뇌낭미충증이 가장 많았다. 입원 당시 이학적 검사상 신경학적 이상소견을 보인 예와 초점성 발작을 보인 예 및 뇌파검사상 이상 소견을 보인 예에서 뇌전산화 단층촬영상 비정상 소견을 보인 예가 월등히 많았으며 뇌파검사상 정상 소견을 보인예에서도 상당수 뇌전산화 단층촬영상 이상 소견이 발견되었다. 뇌전산화 단층촬영 이외에도 경동맥 조영술, 뇌척수액 검사, 전해질 검사 등이 진단에 도움이 되었다. 전체 24예 중 임상적으로 대증성 경련으로 진단된 예는 24예(70.6%), 검사상 아무런 이상 소견을 발견할 수 없었던 소위 특발성 전간은 10예 (29.4%)였다. We have clinically evaluated 34 patients with seizure disorders, who were admitted to our neurosurgical department from June, 1981 to December, 1982. The cases with generalized seizure were over two times as frequent as those with focal seizure. The generalized seizure was more common in male than in female, but the focal seizrue was reversed. About 65% of the cases experienced the prodromal symptoms without sexual difference. 55.9% of the cases showed the abnormal finding in brain CT-scan, in which the most common cause was cerebral cysticercosis. The cases with abnormal findings in neurologic examination and EEG showed abnormal findings in train CT-scan more frequently than the cases with normal findings in the former studies. Other studies, such as carotid angiography, CSF study, and serum electrolyte value were also helpful to evaluate seizure disorders.

<P>The dynamic characterization of two green-sensitive organic photodetectors (OPDs) using nonfullerene small molecules is investigated by analyzing the electrical parameters based on the experimental results and the simulated data. The two OPDs comprise <I>N</I>,<I>N</I>-dimethyl quinacridone (DMQA) as the common donor and dibutyl-substituted dicyanovinyl terthiophene (DCV3T) or boron-subphthalocyanine chloride (SubPc) as respective acceptors. At the applied voltage of −5 V, the device composed of DMQA/SubPc shows a higher frequency response at 148.3 kHz, by 55 kHz higher than the device based on DMQA/DCV3T. The impedance spectroscopy results indicate that the former device exhibits the low resistance due to the high mobility and the low capacitance linked to the dielectric constant. According to the molecular quantum calculation, the linear structure of DCV3T may promote packing of adjacent molecules in the linear direction, resulting in a high polarizability. In contrast, the fused structure of SubPc leads to a decrease in reorganization energy, and its conical shape tends to counterbalance the net dipole at the axial position in the dimer packing configuration owing to the symmetry of the three-branched units in the molecular periphery, which are related to the high carrier mobility and the low dielectric constant. The OPD comprising SubPc, with the dynamic response surpassing the commercialization level of 100 kHz, also exhibits good static performance with an external quantum efficiency of 60.1% at the wavelength of 540 nm, which can be an interesting candidate for potential applications as image sensors.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jpccck/2014/jpccck.2014.118.issue-25/jp5028788/production/images/medium/jp-2014-028788_0008.gif'></P>

Retinoids (vitamin A and vitamin A derivatives), such as retinol (ROL) and retinoic acid (RA), have received a great deal of attention by the cosmetics industry for their use as anti-wrinkle agents. However, neither RA nor ROL are widely used due to skin irritation and poor photostability, respectively. For this reason, safety and photo-stability have been important issues for the continued development of RA or ROL derivatives. To improve the photo-stability of retinol, a new hybrid, retinyl retinoate, was synthesized with a condensing reaction to form an ester bond between ROL (which has a hydroxyl end group) and RA (which has a carboxyl end group); the biological activity of the hybrid was also analyzed. Retinyl retinoate, a novel hybrid derivative, has better chemical stability, reduced skin irritant properties, and higher skin regeneration activity than either ROL or RA alone, and is thus a promising anti-wrinkle agent.

Background : Schizandra chinensis Baillon have five tastes and lately it is using a beverage broadly. Schizandra chinensis is one of the top producing medicinal plant in Korea. Mungyeong of Gyongbuk province produce almost of Schizandra chinensis. Maturity of Schizandra chinensis get 3 years and proliferation of Schizandra chinensis was not a manual. It is needed that a new cultivar has a big fruit and high quality chracteristics using processed food and beverage. Methods and Results : 105 lines of Schizandra chinensis were collected on Mungyeong, Yeongwol, Jinan. It were studied it’ characteristics especially it’s fruit trait. Fruit traits of Schizandra chinensis were researched on fruit length, fruit weight, maturity, number of fruit, male and female ratio, powdery mildew. Fruit length of Schizandra chinensis is relation of fruit weight. It were founded 15 lines of long fruit length. 5 lines were studied high fruit weight and it’s weight were 32 to 41g. Number of fruit has relation with fruit weight and high fruit weight gets many fruits. it’s numer of fruits were 3 to 41. Male and female ratio were very impotant characteristic. High level of female ratio has quantity of fruit. High level of female ratio were founded 2 lines. Finally It was selected 3 good breed lines of Schizandra chinensis. Conclusion : 105 lines of Schizandra chinensis Baillons were collected on Mungyeong, Yeongwol, Jinan. It were founded 15 lines of long fruit length and 5 lines were studied high fruit weight. High level of female ratio were founded 2 lines. 3 good breed lines of Schizandra chinensis were selected.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Skin ulcers, scoliosis, and dropsy-like scale edema were observed in laboratory-maintained zebrafish. Affected fish had multifocal granulomas not only in internal organs such as the liver, intestine, genital organs, kidney, muscle, and spleen but also in the fin, epithelium, gills, and sclera of the eyes. Large numbers of acid-fast-rod-shaped bacteria were observed within the necrotic centers of well-demarcated, multifocal granulomas with Gram's stain and Ziehl–Neelson's stain. The size of the <I>Mycobacterium</I> spp. was 1–2μm×2–3μm with a double-layered cell wall, based upon electron-microscopical features. Definitive diagnosis of these outbreaks was obtained by culture on selective media followed by PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis (PRA) of the <I>rpoB</I> gene for species identification. The amplified 360-bp products of the <I>rpoB</I> gene of mycobacteria isolated from zebrafish were digested with <I>Msp</I>I restriction enzyme, which revealed unique band patterns matching those of <I>Mycobacterium abscessus</I> and <I>Mycobacterium chelonae</I> which are responsible for skin and soft tissue infection caused by rapidly growing mycobacteria in humans. This is the first documentation of the precise identification of zoonotic non-tuberculous mycobacteria isolated from laboratory-maintained zebrafish by the PRA of the <I>rpoB</I> gene; this study thus provides a great deal of useful epidemiological information and reduces the likelihood that epizootics will occur.</P>

Background: Many inflammatory mediators, including various cytokines (e. g. interleukins and tumor necrosis factor [TNF]), inflammatory proteases, and histamine are released following mast cell activation. However, the endogenous modulators for mast cell activation and the underlying mechanism have yet to be elucidated. Endogenous cannabinoids such as palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) and N-arachidonoylethanolamine (anandamide or AEA), were found in peripheral tissues and have been proposed to possess autacoid activity, implying that cannabinoids may downregulate mast cell activation and local inflammation. Objective: In order to investigate the effect of cannabinoid receptor-1 (CB1R) agonists on mast cell activation, AEA-derived compounds were newly synthesized and evaluated for their effect on mast cell activation. Methods: The effects of selected compounds on FcεRI-induced histamine and β-hexosaminidase release were evaluated in a rat basophilic leukemia cell line (RBL-2H3). To further investigate the inhibitory effects of CB1R agonist in vivo, an oxazolone-induced atopic dermatitis mouse model was exploited. Results: We found that CB1R inhibited the release of inflammatory mediators without causing cytotoxicity in RBL-2H3 cells and that CB1R agonists markedly and dose-dependently suppressed mast cell proliferation indicating that CB1R plays an important role in modulating antigen-dependent immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated mast cell activation. We also found that topical application of CB1R agonists suppressed the recruitment of mast cells into the skin and reduced the level of blood histamine. Conclusion: Our results indicate that CB1R agonists downregulate mast cell activation and may be used for relieving inflammatory symptoms mediated by mast cell activation, such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and contact dermatitis.
