This study is concerned with the anisotropy which affects the workability of several different sheet metals. To do this, authors studied the earing through the deep drawing process, using the results which were obtained by studying the effect of the anisotropy of sheet metal in tensile yielding. The results through this study are as follows; 1) The corresponding maximum errors of the theoretical and experimental results in steel, brass, and aluminum plates in tensile yielding are 16%, 6%, and 5% respectively. 2) The earing of steel, brass and copper plates whose thickness are 0.62㎜ are two or three times as high as those of corresponding plates whose thickness are 0.34㎜. 3) The assumption of costa is satisfied in steel plate, but it is not satisfied in brass plate. It is hoped that the results of this study will be made reference to other works of sheet metal.

The purpose of this research was to investigate effects of Sa-Kunja-Tang(SKT) on immune cells of L1210 cell-transplanted mice. The apoptosis and T lymphocytes subopoulation were tested using a flow cytometry, and the proliferation was tested using a MTT assay. Nitric oxide production from mouse peritoneal macrophage was tested using a Griess reagents, and the phagocytic activity of mouse peritoneal macrophage was tested using a lucigenin chemiluminescence. SKT suppressed apoptosis of T-lymphocytes induced by L1210 transplantation. SKT decreased nitric oxide production from mice peritoneal macrophages increased by L1210 transplantation, and the phagocytic activity decreased by L1210 transplantation. These results suggest that SKT suppresses T lymphocyte apoptosis and macrophage activity in L1210 transplanted mice.

The carrier-based space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM), which is considered as highly simple and efficient PWM technology, can be also used in multilevel inverters The method was originally designed for the two-level inverter and developed to the diode clamped multilevel inverter structure However it may be noted that it also cause bad switch utilization in cascaded multilevel inverter This paper introduces an improved carrier-based SVPWM scheme, which is fully suitable for cascaded multilevel inverter topologies because it can achieve the optimized switch utilization through the redistribution of the triangular carrier waves considering leg voltage redundancies while having the advantages of the conventional carrier-based SVPWM Using simulation and experimental results, the superior performance of new PWM method is shown.
Clinical and histological effects of topical epidermal growth factor on acne and acne scar

Background: Acne is a chronic skin disorder, and its inflammatory lesions leave scars which greatly affects the quality of life of patients. Currently, treatment options targeting both acne and acne scars are still lacking. Objectives: To evaluate clinical efficacy of topical epidermal growth factor ointment (EGFO) on acne lesions and scars. Methods: The study design was 12-week, prospective, split-face, non-blind. The 36 adult patients with mild to moderate acne vulgaris applied EGFO on one side of the face and vehicle ointment on the other side twice daily. Patients were assessed every 4 weeks by acne lesion and scar counts, investigator’s global assessment for acne (IGA) and scar (SGA), and ECCA scar grading scale. Skin biopsies were performed before and after treatment. Results: The severity of acne and acne scars were significantly improved in EGFO-treated sides, while control sides were not. Acne lesion and scar counts were significantly reduced after 4 weeks, while IGA, SGA, and ECCA grades significantly decreased after 8 weeks. Immunohistochemistry showed decreased expression of keratin 16, NFkBp65, IL-1α in acne lesions, and increased expression of elastin, collagen type 1, 3 in acne scars after treatment. Conclusion: EGFO can be a treatment option for acne and acne scar.

Background: Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic, devastating inflammatory skin disease with frequent recurrence. Various systemic treatments and procedures have been applied to HS, yet the efficacy of fractional microneedling radiofrequency (FMR) has not been reported. Objectives: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of FMR in the treatment of HS lesion. Methods: The study design was 8-week, prospective, split-body, non-blind. The 10 adult patients with mild to moderate HS received 3 sessions of FMR biweekly. The severity of HS was assessed by the number and types of lesion, hidradenitis suppurativa physician global assessment (HS-PGA) and modified Sartorius score (mSS). Skin biopsies were performed before and after the procedure. Results: The severity of HS was significantly improved in FMR-treated sides, while control sides were not. Inflammatory HS lesions were significantly reduced after 4 weeks, while HS-PGA and mSS significantly decreased after 6 weeks. Immunohistochemistry staining showed decreased expression of inflammatory markers including neutrophil elastases, IL-8, IL-17, TNF-α, TGF-β1 and MMPs after treatment. Conclusion: FMR can be a treatment option for mild to moderate HS patients.

Background: Granulomatous rosacea (GR) is a rare inflammatory skin disease which is considered as a variant of rosacea, apart from other types of rosacea. Objectives: This study aimed to summarize the characteristics of Korean patients diagnosed with GR by combining clinical and histological findings. Methods: Fifteen cases, both clinically and histologically consistent with GR, were selected and were subsequently analyzed to describe clinical and histological characteristics. Results: Total 20 patients showed granulomatous infiltration in skin biopsies but only 15 of them were clinically consistent with GR. Five patients who showed granulomatous inflammation was clinically consistent with erythematotelangiectatic or papulopustular rosacea. Among 15 patients, 13 (86.7%) were female and 2 (13.3%) were male. Most frequently involved area was cheek and none of the patients showed extrafacial lesions. There seems to be a possibility that treatment duration may be associated with the treatment response. Conclusion: This study confirms clinical characteristics of GR based on the diagnosis combining both clinical and histological findings. Even previously diagnosed GR with compatible histologic finding may not be true GR.
