Synergistic Effect of PVA Fiber and PTB Emulsion on Mechanical Properties of Cementitious Composites for Damage Repair in Operating Tunnels

        Chunyu Zhang,Mengjun Chen,Rentai Liu,Xiuhao Li,Jia Yan,Zhijing Zhu,Fengshuai Fan 대한토목학회 2022 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.26 No.12

Operating tunnels are often located in complex geological conditions and are prone to various types of damage. Even after structural repair, the repaired material may be vulnerable to secondary damage. It is difficult to effectively repair operating tunnel damage. Hence, developing high-performance repair materials for tunnel structures is critical. This study aimed to develop repair materials by studying the synergistic effects of fiber and polymers. The effectof polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber and PTB (COMPAKTUNA.PRO) emulsion on the compressive strength (40 × 40 × 40 mm, GB/T 17671-2020), flexural strength (40 × 40 × 160 mm, GB/T 17671-2020), uniaxial tensile properties (330 × 60 × 13 mm, JC/T 2461-2018), bond strength (40 × 40 × 160 mm, JC/T 2537-2019), rapid chloride migration coefficient (ϕ100 × 50 mm, GB/T 50082-2009), porosity (40 × 40 × 40 mm, SY/T 6490-2014), and scanning electron microscopy (less than 1 cm3, GB/T 27788-2020) was analysed. The test was completed in the laboratory of our school, and the average value of three specimens per mix ratio was taken. The results indicate that both PVA fiber and PTB emulsion addition reduce the compressive strength but significantly increase the flexural strength, tensile strength, and ultimate tensile strain of cementitious composite. The compressive-to-flexural strength ratio decreases, and the uniaxial compression toughness index increases. The cementitious composites exhibit good integrity after damage. The influence of the PVA fiber is more potent than that of the PTB emulsion. The PTB emulsion increases the impermeability and bonding strength of the cementitious composite and can improve the disadvantages caused by adding the PVA fibers. The bridging effect of the PVA fiber and the membrane-forming effect of the PTB emulsion together influence the performance and cause a synergistic effect to achieve superposition and complementation of advantages. The optimal content of the PVA fiber and PTB emulsion under the synergistic effect can be obtained. The findings can provide a theoretical basis for the optimal design and practical application of restoration materials.

Transcriptionally and Phylogenetically Analyzing the P Protein Gene of Glycine Decarboxylase for Understanding the Evolution of C_3-C_4 Species in Brassicaceae

        Chunyu Zhang,박인애,Fangsen Xu,Maoteng Li,임용표,Jinling Meng 한국원예학회 2011 Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology Vol.52 No.4

Lacking P protein of glycine decarboxylase (GDCP) from the mesophyll cells was one of the major steps for C_3species to evolve into C_3-C_4 species. Previous studies indicated that the lack of P protein in the mesophyll cells of C_3-C_4species of Flaveria is regulated by gene different transcription. In the family of Brassicaceae, most plants show a typical C_3photosynthetic characteristic, which includes some important vegetables and oil crops, while few plants in this family exhibit a C_3-C_4 type of character. To understand the mechanism of difference in distribution of P protein between the 2 different photosynthetic types, a C_3 type of 1.6 kb BnGDCP promoter from Brassica napus was used for detailed analysis in this study. This promoter exhibited the ability to drive beta-glucuronidase gene (GUS) expression in both mesophyll and the bundle sheath cells of C_3 species, Arabidopsis. However, the same promoter was also found to drive GUS expression in both the mesophyll and bundle sheath cells of a typical of C_3-C_4 species such as Moricandia arvensis, which loses the P protein from the mesophyll cells. This implies that in absence of P protein from the mesophyll cells of Moricandia (C_3-C_4 species) may be regulated by differential transcription of the P protein gene as well. And then, a region, which determines a mesophyll cells specific expression, was narrowed down to 135 bp in length through detailed promoter/reporter gene assay. DNA sequences alignment of the 5′-flanking sequences from either a C3 or C_3-C_4 species in Brassicaceae indicated that 2 different nucleotide acids only conserved to C_3 species were revealed. Phylogenetic analysis of those 5′-flanking sequences of GDCP indicated that C_3-C_4 species in the genus of Moricandia might have been evolved from different C_3 ancestors; interestingly, a C_3-C_4species, D. tenuifolia, was indicated to have shared common ancestors with the C_3-C_4 species, M. spinosa, and the C_3 species M. foleyii in Moricandia.

Robustness Analysis of Descriptor Systems with Parameter Uncertainties

        Chunyu Yang,Qing-Ling Zhang,Fuzhen Zhang,Zheng Zhou 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2010 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.8 No.2

This paper investigates the problem of robustness analysis for descriptor systems with parameter uncertainties in both the derivative and state matrices. Using a parameter dependent Lyapunov function, we derive a linear matrix inequality (LMI) based sufficient condition for the admissibility of the system. Unlike the existing results, our criterion has no restriction on the rank of the derivative matrix. Further, we use the obtained method to study interval descriptor systems and multi-parameter singular perturbed systems. The proposed approaches overcome some drawbacks of the existing results. Finally, we present two numerical examples to show the effectiveness of the main results.

Edge Effect Investigation of DP980 Steel Sheet in Multiple Laser Scanning Process

Yajing Zhang,Wenbin Dong,Yinhu Qiao,Chunyu Zhang 한국정밀공학회 2019 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.20 No.3

Due to free spring back, laser forming is an effective non-contact forming technique for hard forming materials. A desired shape is obtained by residual plastic strain which is induced by thermal stresses depending on multiple laser scanning. In this study, the combination of experimental and numerical analysis is employed to investigate the temperature distribution and bending angle of the dual phase (DP980) high strength steel sheet. The edge effect of six cases of laser scanning process involving 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10-time laser scanning are investigated by analyzing their bending angle relative variations and transverse plastic strains. It is found that the edge effect at the middle part of laser scanning line reduces with the increasing number of laser scanning cycles. It is attributed to the fact that the relative variation of the residual plastic strain reduces with the increase of laser scanning cycles. To efficiently reduce the edge effect of DP980 steel sheet, a locally repeated scanning strategy is proposed. The numerical simulation results indicate that the edge effect reduces significantly in the 10-time laser scanning process and the average bending angle simultaneously increases around 20% under the new laser scanning strategy.

Extraction of microbial transglutaminase from Amycolatopsis sp. fermentation broth using aqueous two-phase system

        Nan Shi,Hongwei Xu,Kaiyuan Guo,Chunyu Kang,Wei Zhang,Yingying Zhang,Liping Zhang,Jianxin Tan 한국화학공학회 2017 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.34 No.8

Partitioning of microbial transglutaminase (MTG) from Amycolatopsis sp. in the polyethylene glycol (PEG)/salt-based ATPS was investigated for the first time. The key parameters such as the molecular weight of PEG (PEG 600-6000), the type and concentration of phase-forming salt (ammonium sulfate or phosphates), the pH of system (pH 5.0-8.5), and the concentration of neutral salt (0-6% NaCl, w/w) were determined. The partition coefficient of the enzyme was not linear with PEG molecular weight; PEG1000 gave better yield than others. The concentration of PEG1000, ammonium sulfate and NaCl, and the system pH showed effects with different extents on specific activity (SA) and yield of the enzyme. In the ATPS of 26% w/w PEG 1000 and 19% w/w ammonium sulfate in the presence of 5% w/w NaCl and at pH 6.0, MTG was partitioned into the PEG-rich phase with a maximum yield of 86.51% and SA was increased to 0.83. The results of SDS-PAGE showed the MTG produced by the test strain differed from the enzymes reported before. Thus, this study proves that ATPS can be used as a preliminary step for partial purification of MTG from Amycolatopsis sp. fermentation broth.

      • Shaking Table Test and Seismic Performance Evaluation of Shanghai Tower

Chunyu, Tian,Congzhen, Xiao,Hong, Zhang,Jinzhe, Cao Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat Korea 2012 International journal of high-rise buildings Vol.1 No.3

Shanghai Tower is a super high-rise building of 632 m height with 'mega frame-core- outrigger truss' structure system. Due to the complexity and irregularity of structure, shaking table test was carried out to investigate its seismic performance. A 1/40 scaled test model was designed, built and tested on shaking table under earthquake of small, moderate and large levels. The experimental results showed that the structure can meet the requirements of Chinese codes and reach scheduled performance objectives. Elastic and plastic time-history analysis on the structure were carried out and the results were compared to experimental results. Based on the research results some suggestions were proposed to contribute favorable effect on the seismic capacity of the structure.

Synchronization of two non-identical coupled exciters in a non-resonant vibrating system of plane motion

Chunyu Zhao,Qinghua Zhao,Yimin Zhang,Bangchun Wen 대한기계학회 2011 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.25 No.1

In the average method of modified small parameters, the synchronization of two coupled exciters is converted to a problem on the existence and stability of zero solutions for the average differential equations of small parameters over the average period of two exciters. To implement frequency capture, the torque of frequency capture should be greater than or equal to the absolute value of the difference between the residual electromagnetic torques of the two motors. Because each exciter is involved in the motion of the vibrating system it has excited, its relative moment of inertia is reduced. The reduction is proportional to half its coefficient of cosine effect of phase angles (CCEPA). Because one of the exciters is involved in the motion excited by the other, a coupled moment of inertia exists for the two exciters. The stability of the synchronization of the two exciters is affected by the reduction of their relative moments of inertia and their moment of coupling inertia. For the synchronization to be stable, two conditions must be satisfied: (1) the non-dimensional relative moments of inertia of the two exciters are all greater than zero, and (2) four times the product of their non-dimensional relative moments is greater than the square of the coefficient of coupled cosine effect (CCCPA). The stability of synchronization depends solely on the ratios of the masses of the two exciters to the mass of the vibrating system and the ratio of the distance between one exciter and the centroid of the rigid frame to the equivalent rotating radius of the vibrating system about its centroid of the rigid frame, and is independent of the parameters of the two induction motors.

Synthesis of Zirconium Oxides on silicon by Radio - Frequency Magnetron Sputtering Deposition

        Chunyu Ma,Qingyu Zhang 한국진공학회(ASCT) 2003 Applied Science and Convergence Technology Vol.12 No.S1

Zirconium oxide films have been synthesized by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering deposition on n-Si(001) substrate with metal zirconium target at variant O₂ partial pressures. The influences of O₂ partial pressures of the morphology, deposition rate, microstructure, and the dielectric constant of ZrO₂ have been discussed. The results show that deposition rate of ZrO₂ films decreases, the roughness, and the thickness of the native SiO₂ interlayer increases with the increase of O₂ partial pressure. ZrO₂ films synthesized at low O₂ partial pressure are amorphous and monoclinic polycrystalline in nanometer scale at low O₂ partial pressure. The relative dielectrics of ZrO₂ films are in the range of 12 to 25.
