Using low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD), TiN thin films as field emitter array were fabricated. In this Work, a method was transfered to a substrate and the wet-etching of the silicon substrate instead of fabricated method of mold shape was using in generally but we have fabricated gated field emitter tips as using mold shape of the new method that using a side wall space structure. Following sequences such as LPCVD method of a gate electrod and gate oxide on a silicon substrate and defesited BPSG thin film as a high temperature was flowed by the mold shape of a sharpen, the TiN as a materials of emitter tips was deposited after was bounded by anodic bonding and the wet-etching of the silicon substrate by using KOII solution, the last have fabricated a gated field emitter arrays of a sharpen. These emitters were estmated by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction.

Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) have therapeutic potential for repairing tissue damage and are involved in immune regulation. MSCs are predominantly isolated from bone marrow (BM), adipose tissue or placental tissue. Further to these well-known sources, the isolation of MSCs from human tonsils was previously reported. The aim of the present study was to investigate a potential role for tonsil-derived MSCs (T-MSCs) in BM reconstitution and application towards supplementing hematopoiesis in a mouse model of BM transplantation (BMT). Eight-week-old BALB/c female mice received 80 mg/kg busulfan (Bu)/200 mg/kg cyclophosphamide (Cy) conditioning chemotherapy for BM ablation. Subsequently, human T-MSCs were injected into the Bu/Cy-treated mice with or without BM cells (BMCs) obtained from allogeneic C57BL/6 male mice. After 3 weeks, peripheral blood and BM was collected for analysis. The red blood cell count in the group that received BMCs had almost returned to normal, whereas mononuclear cell counts and BM cellularity were most improved in the T-MSCs + BMCs group. These results indicate that the T-MSCs enhanced myelopoiesis in the allogeneic BMT mouse model, as evidenced by the restoration of BM with hematopoietic cells, as well as increased myeloid colony formation in vitro. Therefore, T-MSCs may provide a source of MSCs to facilitate myelopoiesis and megakaryocytosis following BMT.

The root-bark of the mulberry tree has been used as a medicine with antitussive, antiphlogistic, diuretic etc. in Korea. Among many kinds of mulberry trees, Morus Lhou has been widlly cultivated in our country. In this experiment, thee substances were obtained from the root-bark of Morus Lhou removed its cork layer by column chromatography of methanol extract. One of the substances was supposed as α-amyrin acetate, another was alyceride, the other was confirmed as β-sistosterol by chemical and physical methods.

Soil burial is the most widely used disposal method for infected pig carcasses, but composting has gained attention as an alternative disposal method because pig carcasses can be decomposed rapidly and safely by composting. To understand the pig carcass decomposition process in soil burial and by composting, pilot-scale test systems that simulated soil burial and composting were designed and constructed in the field. The envelope material samples were collected using special sampling devices without disturbance, and bacterial community dynamics were analyzed by high-throughput pyrosequencing for 340 days. Based on the odor gas intensity profiles, it was estimated that the active and advanced decay stages were reached earlier by composting than by soil burial. The dominant bacterial communities in the soil were aerobic and/or facultatively anaerobic gram-negative bacteria such as Pseudomonas, Gelidibacter, Mucilaginibacter, and Brevundimonas. However, the dominant bacteria in the composting system were anaerobic, thermophilic, endospore-forming, and/or halophilic gram-positive bacteria such as Pelotomaculum, Lentibacillus, Clostridium, and Caldicoprobacter. Different dominant bacteria played important roles in the decomposition of pig carcasses in the soil and compost. This study provides useful comparative date for the degradation of pig carcasses in the soil burial and composting systems.

Body surface potential map, an electric potential distribution on the body torso surface, enables us to infer the electrical activities of the heart. Therefore, observing electric potential projected to the torso surface can be highly useful for diagnosing heart diseases such as coronary occlusion. The BSPM for the heart of a patient show a higher level of sensitivity than 12-lead ECG. Relevant research has been mostly based on clinical statistics obtained from patients, and, therefore, a simulation for a variety of pathological phenomena of the heart is required. In this study, by using computer simulation, a body surface potential map was implemented according to various occlusion locations (distal, mid, proximal occlusion) in the left anterior descending coronary artery. Electrophysiological characteristics of the body surface during the ST segment period were observed and analyzed based on an ST isointegral map. We developed an integrated system that takes into account the cellular to organ levels, and performed simulation regarding the electrophysiological phenomena of the heart that occur during the first 5 minutes (stage 1) and 10 minutes (stage 2) after commencement of coronary occlusion. Subsequently, we calculated the bipolar angle and amplitude of the ST isointegral map, and observed the correlation between the relevant characteristics and the location of coronary occlusion. In the result, in the ventricle model during the stage 1, a wider area of ischemia led to counterclockwise rotation of the bipolar angle; and, during the stage 2, the amplitude increased when the ischemia area exceeded a certain size.

Benzalkonium chloride, diazolidinyl urea, and imidazolidinyl urea are commonly used preservatives in cosmetics. Recent reports suggested that these compounds may have cellular and systemic toxicity in high concentration. In addition, diazolidinyl urea and imidazolidinyl urea are known formaldehyde (FA) releasers, raising concerns for these cosmetic preservatives. In this study, we investigated the effects of benzalkonium chloride, diazolidinyl urea, and imidazolidinyl urea on ROS-dependent apoptosis of rat neural progenitor cells (NPCs) in vitro. Cells were isolated and cultured from embryonic day 14 rat cortices. Cultured cells were treated with 1-1,000 nM benzalkonium chloride, and $1-50{\mu}M$ diazolidinyl urea or imidazolidinyl urea at various time points to measure the reactive oxygen species (ROS). PI staining, MTT assay, and live-cell imaging were used for cell viability measurements. Western blot was carried out for cleaved caspase-3 and cleaved caspase-8 as apoptotic protein markers. In rat NPCs, ROS production and cleaved caspase-8 expression were increased while the cell viability was decreased in high concentrations of these substances. These results suggest that several cosmetic preservatives at high concentrations can induce neural toxicity in rat brains through ROS induction and apoptosis.
