Difference of the Naltrexone’s Effects in Social Drinkers by Spicy Food Preference

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in subjective acute effects ofalcohol and naltrexone among those who prefer spicy food to varying degrees. Acutebiphasic alcohol effects scale (BAES), visual analogue scale for craving (VAS-C), bloodalcohol concentration (BAC) and food preference scale were measured in 26 men. Repeated measures ANOVA (2 preference groups × 4 time blocks) on the stimulativesubscale of BAES revealed a significant group by block interaction in naltrexone condition(N+) (P < 0.001), but not in non-naltrexone condition (N-). Furthermore, repeatedmeasures ANOVA (2 drug groups × 4 time blocks) on the stimulative subscale of BAESrevealed a significant group by block interaction in strong preference for spicy food (SP)(P < 0.001), but not in lesser preference for spicy food (LP). The paired t-test revealed thatsignificant suppression of the stimulative subscale of BAES was observed at 15 min(P < 0.001) and 30 min (P < 0.001) after drinking when N+ compared with N- in SP. Forthose who prefer spicy food, the stimulative effect of acute alcohol administration wassuppressed by naltrexone. This result suggests that the effect of naltrexone may varyaccording to spicy food preference.

In general, small and medium-sized computer rooms do not have access floors for reasons of increased floor height and increased construction cost. Therefore, the air conditioning method used here applies the method of directly blowing the cold air of the air conditioner into the computer room. In this case, the hot/cold air is not separated, and as the hot air is recirculated, it is re-introduced to the front of the server rack, resulting in a problem that the server cooling efficiency is decreased. In addition, in such a computer room structure, it is difficult to configure and install a containment system. In this study, we tried to understand the problem of the formation airflow in the case of using the existing air conditioning method, and to find a method of configuring the air conditioning environment to improve the cooling efficiency. The purpose of this study was to understand the airflow/temperature distribution in the computer room using the CFD simulation method. In addition, the thermal characteristics of various air-conditioning environments such as the location of the CRAC cold air discharge location, the layout between server rack and CRAC and the containment were reviewed.
수평 회전 히트파이프에서 내부 삽입 코일이 유동 형태 및 열전달 성능에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험 연구

The effects of an inserted coil on flow patterns and heat transport performance for a horizontal rotating heat pipe have been studied experimentally. Especially, the present study is to see an internally inserted helical coil inside a RHP would lead to the same kind of results as internal fins. Visualization test conducted for an acryl tube, charged water with at a volumetric rate of 20%. When the flow kept pool regime at a low RPM(less than 1,000 RPM), the movement of coil forced the water to flow in axial direction. But this pumping effect of coil disappeared, when the pool regime changed to annular one which could be created by increasing RPM. The pumping effects for RHP with an inserted coil resulted enhancement both in condensation heat transfer coefficient and heat transport limitation, as obtained in case of using internal fins. But all these effects became negligible in the range of higher RPM(above 1,000∼1,200) with the transition of flow regime to annular flow.
약병원성 조류인플루엔자 사독백신개발을 위한 후보주(A0401)의 면역 원성 및 안정성 평가

Avian influenza (AI) virus (AIV) is distributed worldwide and it has been isolated from various species of wild and domestic birds. AI transfers with high speed and shows diverse pathogenicity syndroms. In Korea, several low pathogenic AIV, H9N2, have been isolated from the commercial farms with severe decrease of egg production and mortality resulted in severe economic loss since 1996. Therefore, it has been requested to develop AI vaccines to prevent clinical signs and economic losses from the field infection of AIV. To develop a killed vaccine that efficiently prevents low pathogenic AIV (H9N2), evaluation on the pathogenicity and selection of an inactivator for H9N2 is taking place and is being tested safety and immunogenicity of vaccine produced. Based on the pathogenicity test and viral reisolation test, the ADL0401 isolate is the characteristic low pathogenic AIVs and has fairly similar biologic functions compared with MS96 which is the official low pathogenic AIV (H9N2) and one of the predominant AIV isolated from poultry farms in Korea. In antigenicity tests, the ADL0401 and MS96 virus have no significant antigenic difference. In inactivation tests, the ADL0401 isolates can be easily inactivated with 0.1% Formalin at 37℃ within 1 hour with a little decrease of HA titer. The vaccine developed in the present report has no harmful effect on bird and forms good immune capability. Therefore, the isolates, ADL0401 can be used for a killed vaccine which can reduce the clinical signs and viral shedding in the birds infected with H9N2 low pathogenic AIVs. 본 연구는 약병원성 조류인플루엔자 사독백신 개발을 위하여 백신 후보주(ADL0401)로서의 생물학적 특성 및 개발 백신에 대한 면역원성 및 안전성 평가를 실시하였다. 백신 후보주인 ADL0401의 병원성을 조사한 결과 폐사는 없었으며, 임상증상 및 바이러스 재분리율 양상이 국내 표준야외주인 MS96과 상당히 유사한 생물학적 특성을 나타내어 약병원성 조류인플루엔자의 특징을 갖고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 표준야외주인 MS96과 백신후보주인 ADL0401간의 이종항원의 중화능 실험을 한 결과 r값 = 0.71로 동종항원(r값 = 1)에 비하여 다소 낮은 중화능을 나타내었지만, 두 바이러스간의 항원성엔 큰 차이가 없음을 알 수 있었다. 불활화 능력실험으로 0.1% Formalin을 37℃ 조건에서 처리하였을 때 가장 효과적인 결과를 가져왔으며, MS96은 2시간, ADL0401은 1시간만에 다소의 역가 저하는 있었으나 빠르게 불활화가 이루어짐을 확인하였다. 개발 백신의 면역원성 및 안전성 실험 결과 ISA 70 adjuvant 백신 접종시 백신 접종 전후로 폐사율 및 임상증상은 관찰되지 않았으며, 높은 수준의 항체 역가를 형성함으로써 가장 면역원성이 우수한 것으로 확인되었다.

백신 예방접종의 발전은 인류 역사상 가장 위대한 업적 중 하나로 꼽힌다. 18세기 초반만 해도 몸에 난 작은 상처나 호흡기 전염으로 두창(전연두를 한방에서 이르는 말), 페스트 등이 전염돼 수십만명이 사망하는 경우가 허다했다. 이러한 감염병 및 풍토병에서 인류를 지킨 것이 백신 예방접종이다.
