Vol.8 No.-

Let (Ω.α.Ρ) be a probability space, ℜ_n, n=1,2, ... a sequence of complete sub σ-algebras of α increasing (or decreasing) to a limit sub σ-algebra, ℜ_∞ and f∈L_1(Ω.α.Ρ) We first define a metric, d, on the set of sub σ-algebras of a and then show that if d(ℜ_n,ℜ_∞)→0(n→∞) then the convergence, in a sense which is to be defined below, of E^ℜ_n to E^ℜ_∞f can be given in dependent of f. This property is proved in [1], but Ⅰprove it here by the method suggested by[2].

Vol.23 No.-

In this article, the author's intention is to observe and arrange patriotism in the ancient and modern Sijo, traditional and set-form verse. First of all, if we observe the practical events concerning patriotism by Korean, that appear in the Sijo, we can find two types of patriotism; being loyal to the king, and benefiting one's country. In the ancient Sijo, the above patterns were classified in detail under the items of loyalty to the king, benefiting one's country, statecraft, public spirit, peace, etc. If we observe ancient Sijo closely, most of the Sijo which has motif about the loyalty to the king appeared during the beginning and mid-period of the Ri-dynasty. Particularly, Sijo commoner poets participated in the literary movements to show their patriotic ideas through Sijo poetry in the mid and latter period of the Ri-dynasty. In these points, we can sum up that most of the ancient Sijo motif contains the main ideology of "benefiting one's country" with the concomitant idea of "loyalty to the king" Secondly, in the modern Sijo, we may observe and find many more differentiated types of patriotism than the former. If we observe the works by Nam-seon Chi, Kwang-soo Lee, In-bo Jeong, Yo-han Joo, Een-sang Lee and Byeong-gi Lee, wecan find a firm well to restore the country's independence the Japanese occupation. Under these circumstances, patriotism in the ancient and modern Sijo, mostly, may be classified under two patterns: first, patriotism such as "loyalty to the king" and "benefiting one's country" predominated the others during the Ri-dynasty; and second, patriotism such as "admiration to the country" and "firm will to restore the country's independence from the Japanese occupation" predominated the first pattern during the modern era. A Sincere and firm will to restore the independence has continued from early predecessors, down to the modern day in association with nationalism, and eventually the wills formed generative powers to maintain today's radiant development of Korea.

Vol.17 No.-

As a prearranged study to give wholesale sketches on the contexts Si-Jo, the anthor already suggested to the orthographical transcription that appears in ancient Si-Jo, under the title of "A schematic suggestion to the study of ancient Si-Jo". (A Collection of Themes and Essays in Commemoration of the Dr. Pyung-ki Lee's six-teith Anniversary.) However, in the above article, the author mainly described to the Si-Jo during Koryu dynasty. Meanwhile, in the article, the author attempted to trace orthographical transcription of thirty nine works, those included Si-Jo anthologies, such as Jin-bon Chung-Koo Young-won(珍本靑丘永言), Tai-hak Pon Chung-Koo Young-on(大學本靑丘永言), Hai-dong Ka-yo(海東歌謠), and Ka-kok Won0lyu(歌穀源流), from the beginning of Yi Dynasty to the reign of Myong Jong (1546-1567, A.D.). In the works, the author reached to realize that it is hardly to get any misspelled works due to the works were written by well-known poets and those contained in the Jin-bon Chung-koo Young-on. Even though some minor misspellings were found in part, there were no serious misspellings to affect entire contexts of Si-Jo, except the following Si-Jo, written by Li Hwang and contained in the To-san Sip-I Kok(陶山十二曲). In the above Li Hwang's Si-jo, the last phrase of the last part of the Si-jo, 聾고 지마로리 was misspelled as 聾고 치 리라, in some anthologies. Based on the above circumstances, the author suggest here that to give full study of Si-Jo poetry, it is necessary to collect any misspelled works first.

Vol.14 No.-

Remarks on the origination of Si-jo poetry arouse divided opinions among researchers, and the topics were proven through examinations to the contexts of the Si-joor compositions of Si-jo poets. In the light of facts that Si-jo is one of formative literature, however, origination of Si-jo poetry must be examined in the formal aspects of the poetry. In facts, researchers who support the formal origination of Si-jo poetry has diverse opinions also such as 'Si-jo was originated from Pyul-kok (別曲) in the koryo kynasty' or 'form Chung Chi Sang's (鄭知常) poetry during mid-Koryo kynasty.' In view of periodic characteristics, if Si-fo has originated as a result of decline of Pyul-kok style it must be originated durig mid-Li dynasty and it is indistinct also that what kind of forms are inherited from Pyul-kok style. To adjust these anachronic and vague views, the author intended to trace formal origination of Si-jo in this discussion that externally, Si-jo poetry was originated during mid-Koryo dynasty and deve-loped through Pyul-kok such as Chung-san Pyul-kok(靑山別曲), man-jun Choon Pyul-sa(滿殿春別詞) and Han-lim Pyul-kok(翰林別曲), but internally, the poetry was formulated in Hyang-ka(鄕歌), style and separated from Pyul-kok style during mid and the end of Koryo dynasty by newly appeared Si-jo poets.
