최근 딥 러닝을 이용한 방법들이 이미지 분류에서 뛰어난 성능을 보임에 따라, 복잡한 특징을 담고 있는 얼굴 이미지에 대해 이를 적용하려는 시도가 늘어나고 있다. 특히, 이미지로부터 주요한 특징들을 추출하여 간결하게 이미지를 대표할 수 있는 이미지 기술자 (Image descriptor)를 딥러닝을 통해 생성하는 연구가 인기를 끌고 있다. 이는 딥 러닝 끝 단에 있는 Fully-connected layer 의 출력으로 얻을 수 있으며 이미지의 의미론적 상관관계를 이용하여 학습된다. 구체적으로, 이미지 기술자는 실수형 벡터 데이터로서, 한 장의 이미지를 수치화 하여 비슷한 이미지 사이에는 벡터 거리가 가깝게, 서로 다른 이미지 사이에는 벡터 거리가 멀게 구성된다. 본 연구에서는 미리 학습된 인공 신경망을 통과시켜 얻은 얼굴 이미지 기술자를 활용하여 멤버 분류를 위한 두 개의 인공 신경망을 학습하는 것을 목표로 한다. 제안된 방법을 검증하기 위해 얼굴 인식에 널리 사용되는 벤치 마크 데이터셋을 활용하였고, 그 결과 제안된 방법이 높은 정확도로 멤버를 분류할 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다.
Differential Effects of Obesity on Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome according to Age

Objective: To evaluate the effect of obesity on obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) by age in relation to anthropometric measurements. Methods: The medical records of 1,110 participants diagnosed with OSAS were analyzed according to age. All participants underwent nocturnal polysomnography and had their body mass index, waist circumference, neck circumference (NC), and waist-to-hip ratio measured. Results: According to the multiple linear regression analysis model for the natural logarithm of the apnea-hypopnea index treating all four anthropometric measurements and gender as covariates, the final stepwise model accounted for an increasing percentage of the variability in the severity of OSAS as a function of age: 7.0, 9.1, 14.5, and 25.6% for those aged <30, 30–39, 40–49, and 50–59 yrs, respectively. It accounted for a decreased percentage among those 60–69 (20.3%) and 70 yrs or older (3.9%). The correlation between NC and the severity of OSAS linearly increased as a function of age for those aged 30–59 yrs, peaked among those in their 60s, and dramatically decreased thereafter. Conclusion: Middle-aged patients with OSAS were more likely to be obese, as measured by anthropometric measurements, than were younger or older OSAS patients. In particular, the predictive value of NC was significantly lower for younger and older OSAS patients.

Because photovoltaic technology applied to the building is intended for long-term use, it is important to undergoes sufficient test before installation. In general, testing of photovoltaic technology is mainly performed on the components of the system. However, because each component is combined with the building’s applied solar technology, various tests are required in its combined state with the building. Therefore, in this study, the current status of photovoltaic technology, procedures, and related facilities were investigated to derive the requirements of the building application test for photovoltaic technology. Based on the results of the investigation, test requirements were derived, such as content to be considered when testing building-applied photovoltaic technology and facility requirements for testing and certification.
뉴실버세대의 행복에 영향을 미치는 요인 : 2017 한국미디어패널조사를 활용하여

The purpose of the current study was to examine the interaction effect between newly appeared communication tools and happiness factors such as self-esteem, positive emotion, and life satisfaction for the baby boom generation as new silver generation. The raw data of ‘2017 Korea Media Panel Survey’ presented by the Korea Information Society Development Institute(2017) were used for the study. To achieve the goals, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, t-test, Multi-way ANOVA were conducted using the SPSS 24.0 version. The results were as follows: First, self-esteem and life satisfaction of the economic activity group were higher than non-economic activity group. Second, life satisfaction of the group without companion animal(s) was higher than the group with them. Third, self-esteem, positive emotion, and life satisfaction of the group using the SNS(social network service) were higher that the other group. Fourth, self-esteem, positive emotion, and life satisfaction of the healthy group were higher that the ill group. Fifth, self-esteem, positive emotion, and life satisfaction tended to increase as people had the economic activity, and used the SNS, and had the fitness. The baby boom generation has to employ an appropriate communication tool in order to lead a healthy and happy life. 본 연구의 목적은 뉴실버세대로서 베이비붐 세대의 새로운 의사소통 도구가 자아 존중, 긍정 감정, 삶의 만족과 같은 행복요인과 어떠한 상호작용 효과가 있는지 검증하고자 진행하였다. 이를 위해 정보통신정책연구원(2017)에서 발표한 ‘2017 한국미디어패널조사’의 원자료를 활용하여 분석하였다. 이를 위해 SPSS 24.0 ver을 사용하였고, 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, t-검정, Multi-way ANOVA를 실시하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경제활동을 하는 집단이 하지 않는 집단보다 자아 존중과 삶의 만족이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 반려동물이 없는 집단이 있는 집단보다 삶의 만족이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, SNS활동을 하는 집단이 하지 않는 집단보다 자아 존중, 긍정 감정, 삶의 만족이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 운동능력이 좋은 집단이 그렇지 않은 집단보다 자아 존중, 긍정 감정, 삶의 만족이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 경제활동과 SNS활동을 하며 반려동물이 있고, 운동능력이 양호할수록 자아 존중, 긍정감정, 삶의 만족이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 수년간 쌓은 삶의 경험과 지혜로 말미암아, 보다 더 적절한 의소소통도구를 선정하여 건강하고 행복한 삶을 영위할 수 있도록 하는데 그 역량이 기대된다.
Will a U.S. Earned Ph.D. Help a Teacher Educator Apply Theory to Practice in Korea?: A Case Study

As great attention is given to a high quality of English education in Korea, more and more in-service and pre-service English teachers are looking for an opportunity to study in an English speaking country to become better qualified teachers. However, after receiving a degree in an English speaking country, many teachers fail to apply what they have learned to their own teaching due to their tensions of identity, beliefs, knowledge, and professionalism within the changes of sociocultural settings. By using sociocultural theory as a theoretical framework, this paper explores how formal training and Ph.D. studies in the U.S. have influenced a Korean teacher educator in applying theory to practice in relation to her identity, beliefs, knowledge, and professionalism during 30 years of her teaching experience. Rather than facing tensions, the teacher educator has been willing to change her roles, broaden and deepen her beliefs in teaching and knowledge about theory of teaching and learning, and continue her professional development. Limitations and implications of the study are provided.
