        Multiple Agree to Double Objects in English

        In this paper the structures of double object constructions are considered through the several data, especially English, French, and German. I will show differences among them and present the different Case assignment of them The two following issues are reviewed with regard to the double object constructions: (1) Do all the double object constructions have the same structures? (2) How can the features of the two arguments in the double object construction can be checked under the minimalist theory? Question (1) has an answer. Through the examples on the double object constructions in German, we can find two kinds of double object constructions. One is the dative-accusative argument structure and the other is double accusative argument structure. The latter is the same structure with English double object constructions. I will show each structure and its derivations based on the minimalist theory. For the question (2), there is a DP unit in English double object constructions. I will assume this DP unit appears just in the double object constructions which don't have any inherent Dative Case. I will prove that a DP unit can appear in the double object constructions which just have structural accusative arguments. The features of the two arguments in the DP unit can be matched and agreed with a ditransitive verb containing [+multiple uCase], a multiple uninterpretable and valued Accusative Case feature, under the Multiple Agree by the Generalised One-Fell Swoop Principle. On the other hand, the double object construction that has the dative-accusative argument structure does not allow Multiple Agree. The indirect argument is assigned an inherent dative Case from the verb containing an inherent dative Case. That is the why that, in the passive sentence, the indirect object containing the inherent Case still keeps the dative Case in the subject position. However, in the same passivisation, the two arguments in the DP unit are assigned the structural nominal Cases from the functional category T under the Multiple Match and Agree. Based on the locality principle, the first argument, indirect object, moves to the subject position. All these differences come from the different Case checking in the different structures of double object constructions.

      • 비상대응 활동계획 수립에 요구되는 자원 기반의 방지벽 분석 방안 연구

        BPM과 ERP를 도입하여 업무 프로세스를 분석하면 기업 내부에서 일어나는 모든 일을 모니터링 할 수 있으며 분산 데이터나 어플리케이션들을 기능적으로 통합하여 프로세스를 정의하고 관리하는 것은 기업의 의사결정이나 전략 수립에 사용되어진다. 특히 다른 시스템과의 상호처리가 빈번히 발생하지 않는 시스템인 레가시시스템에서 중요하게 사용되어진다. BPM과 ERP가 모두 업무 프로세스의 관리에 초점이 맞추어져 있긴 하나 프로세스를 정의하거나 관리하는 방법은 상호 차이가 있다. 이때 사용되는 데이터베이스를 통한 리엔지니어링은 새롭고 좀 더 간단한 프로세스를 설계하여, 한 번의 조직적 변화 프로그램을 통하여 구현하는 것이다. 비즈니스 프로세스 리엔지니어링에 관련된 문제점들을 개선하기 위해 개발된 시스템이 ERP시스템은 한 번 도입된 ERP 시스템은 유연하게 프로세스를 수정하기 힘든 단점을 가지고 있다. 프로세스 리엔지니어링에 의한 재설계에서 그치지 않고 프로세스를 좀 더 쉽게 변화하고 파트너들의 프로세스와 통합되는 등 프로세스를 가치사슬 전체로 협업될 수 있게 해야만 한다. 그러기 위해선 비즈니스 프로세스를 어플리케이션에서 분리하여 관리하는 것인데 BPM은 ERP에서 소스 코드 속에 숨어있던 프로세스를 분리하여 관리할 수 있게 하므로 기업에서 필요한 프로세스의 관리를 가능하게 하고 있다. ERP의 공정은 소프트웨어 어플리케이션에 포함되어 있어 ERP시스템을 제공하는 벤더들이 특정 산업 영역의 기업에서 필요로 하는 최적화된 어플리케이션을 가지고 있으며 이 어플리케이션 소스에 프로세스가 포함되어 있다. 본 고에서는 ERP 시스템과 BPM 시스템 개념 비교를 통해 차이점을 정의하고, 특히 비상대응 계획과 같은 프로세스 설계의 근원인 공정 분석시 만나게 되는 방지벽 문제를, 자원관점에서 접근 및 분석하는 사례를 제시하고자 한다.

        Subjective Case Errors in Finite Clause in Child English

        Syntactic Case errors which infants and young children produce in learning their first language are considered within some language acquisition theories. In addition, this paper also discusses why Korean primary school students make few syntactic Case errors in subject positions during the process of their learning English. Considering some examples related to Case errors, it has been argued that all such syntactic errors result from the some underspecified features of T. On the other hand, in the case of Korean primary school students, since they are more than 10 years old, they have the complete functional categories containing the all specified features in their first language grammar. T is also included in such functional categories. Thus, such Case errors are rare at subject positions in finite clauses among Korean primary school students.

        EBSe 교과서영어 프로그램 개선 방향 연구

        This study aims to analyze the current use and efficacy of the EBSe English Textbook program to facilitate the continued development and improvement of the program. The survey respondents were students, parents, and teachers who have used the EBSe English Textbook program for teaching and learning English. This survey sought to gain feedback on three main categories: current usage, satisfaction and efficacy, and suggestions for improvements to the EBSe English Textbook program. A total of 1,947 responses to the survey were collected. The analysis of the survey data reveals that many students, parents, and teachers used the EBSe English Textbook program. In addition, most of users who have used the program were highly satisfied with the effectiveness of the EBSe English Textbook program. The efficacy of the program was shown to be positive in the following four major objectives: showing complementary effect on school English education, forming a regular habit of English learning, increasing interest in learning of English, and reducing the cost of private education. But EBSe program was still insufficient to solve the problem of private education expenses, and there were many requests for improvement and update. Respondents showed great interest in the EBSe English Textbook program and suggested several areas of improvement. Based on these findings, we suggest further improvement and development of the EBSe English Textbook program to facilitate an brighter future for the program.

        On the Linking Mechanism in Sinhala Wh-Questions

        Hong, Sun-Ho. 2006. On the Linking Mechanism in Sinhala Wh-Questions. The Linguistic Association of Korea Journal, 14(2), 151-166. Sinhala, an Indo-European language spoken in Sri Lanka, seems to share with other wh-in-situ languages like Japanese and Korean the basic word order SOV, and the property of scrambling. Sinhala does not have obligatory movement of a wh-expression in wh-questions. I will consider syntactic effects which are related to syntactic movement in Sinhala Wh-Questions. Through the related empirical examples in Sinhala, I will argue that its linking mechanism between a question particle and wh-expressions is different from those of other wh-movement languages and wh-in situ languages.

        Binding Principle A in English and Northeast Asian Languages

        In this paper, a long distance binding of reflexives in Northeast Asian languages such as Korean, Japanese and Chinese is revisited with Binding Principle A in Chomsky (1981). It is argued that the apparent differences between English and Northeast Asian languages result from the interaction of the ECP, depending on whether Infl is a lexical or a functional category. In addition, it is assumed that reflexives can be divided into two different forms: nonphrasal forms (casin, zibun, ziji in Northeast Asian langauges) vs. phrasal forms (himself, myself etc. in English). Nonphrasal form reflexives can be either local or long distant, whereas phrasal form reflexives are strictly local. Thus, seemingly different bounded dependencies between reflexives and their antecedents can be accounted for by the same principle with parameters.

        역전파 알고리즘을 사용한 지능형 철도 운영 시스템 개선방안

        Recently, the development of the advanced intelligent systems based on virtual situations and job training has been conducted by several countries of Europe complying cross-country interoperability standards. Thus, Korea Railroad, which will link with the Eurasian railway in the future, must prepare the conversion of current education and training systems based on experience into future systems base on the advanced intelligent operations. To this end, this study investigated the functions of railway operation and the jobs of train drivers required for the development of learning model associated with the artificial neural network theory. In the study, the application of the index task management function based on decision task models was proposed. In addition, the onboard field logical model, which is one of safety barrier of high speed rail system, and the parity model were constituted as case studies of intelligent training models. Then, the effects appling the backpropagation algorithm to these models were checked. Finally, we proposed to extend the need for an intelligent system in accordance with the training needs of systemic administration. 최근 유럽 등 국가간 상호운영성 규격을 준용하는 철도 운영기관들을 중심으로 가상 상황 기반의 직무 훈련과 진보된 지능형 시스템의개발이 동시에 진행되고 있다. 향후 대륙 철도 연계를 준비하고 있는 국내철도에서는 현재의 경험 기반의 교육훈련체계를 향후 지능형시스템과의 연계를 고려한 훈련체계로의 전환을 준비할 시점이다. 이를 위해 인공신경망 학습 대상 모델 개발에 필요한 기관사의 직무와 열차시스템의 기능을 조사하였으며, 이를 체계적으로 관리하기 위한 의사결정이론기반의 학습관리모델을 제시한다. 또한 고속 열차의 안전방지벽을 적용한 논리모델과 패리티모델을 학습 사례모델로 구성하여, 역전파 알고리즘의 적용 효과를 확인하고 체계적 훈련 니즈 관리와 지능형 시스템의 구축 방안을 제안하였다.
