The study departs from an awareness of problems involved in an estrangement of architecture from the city, which has massively produced solid bounds between buildings and the street while disregarded diverse everyday patterns influencing activities on the streets. This study attempts to reinterpret Gordon Cullen’s principle of scenic elements in his Townscape theory from the phenomenological viewpoint rather than from one dimensional angle of visual perception, and to verify that the composition principle of scenic elements through soft interfaces generated between streets and buildings is a fundamental and effective method of creating vitalized streetscape that is closely related to human behaviors. The thesis takes the ‘Canal City’ at the International Free Economic Zone in Songdo, as the subject of the study, which has established and promoted a detailed and consistent cityscape plan, and applies the analytic frames acquired from an exploration of Gordon Cullen’s principle of scenic elements to the real site, to see the effectiveness. The main purpose of the study is accordingly to inquire how to create streetscape not as a visually oriented physical space but as a place accompanying the street experiences and activities, and to provide the Street Vitalization Plan of the City presently proceeded with a methodological frame.

Recent discourse on architectural perception tends to deal with sensuous experience rather than rational to develop the idea how bodily interaction intervenes between architectural space and human being. Even though such conceptual shift has led to phenomenological concern and discourse of body in the realm of architectural theory, the problem is that, while the thoughts and cognition on the basis of the ‘body’, the main arguments in most studies have been focused on phenomenological perceptual experiences, especially on sense and perception through the body. Why is it the problem?Though spatial characteristic in relation to bodily perception is to disclose the visual differences, such narrow point of view tends to generalize such spatial characteristic to either sensual space or technical phenomenology while disregarding the investigation on the trait of visual perception through bodily interaction The goal of the study is to establish a methodological frame for design through distinguished notion of phenomenology. The study attempts to investigate meaning and characteristics of the ‘bodily visuality’, character of visual perception through a body, on the basis of Merleau-ponty’s theory of bodily perception, and to infer the meaning of bodily visuality more clearly through comparative analysis on Steven Holl whose approach is rather epistemological and Daniel Libeskind who approaches with ontology of bodily perception.
단락판을 갖는 이중 원추형 광대역 안테나의 반사손실 특성

본 논문에서는 UWB 통신 시스템에 사용할 수 있는 소형 · 입체형 구조인 이중 원추형의 광대역 안테나를 검토하였다. 이중 원추형 광대역 안테나의 반경, 높이, 단락판의 개수 등의 안테나 구조 변화에 따른 반사손실 특성을 FDTD 법을 사용하여 계산하였다. 그 결과, 안테나의 구조 변화에 따른 광대역 안테나의 최적 구조가 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며, 최적 구조에서 안테나의 방사 지향성은 다이폴 안테나와 유사한 8자형 방사지향성 패턴을 나타내고 있었다. 반사손실의 측정 결과를 이론 계산치와 비교하여 이론 해석의 타당성도 검토하였다. This paper presents the characteristics of a double-cone broadband antenna with compact and three-dimensional structure that can be used in UWB system. The theoretical analysis is conducted using a finite difference time domain(FDTD) method. The parameters are the radius, a height of broadband double-cone antennas with shorting plate, and the number of plates on a ground plane. This paper examines influence of structural parameters on return loss. The results show that a condition for an optimum structure of broadband double-cone antennas with shorting plate exists. It also shows that the broadband double-cone antennas with shorting plate have radiation patterns similar to those of a dipole antenna. To verify the theoretical analysis, computed results are compared to experimental results.
