The block assembly of ship consists of a series of heat processes such as cutting, bending, welding, residual stress relaxation and fairing. With the fast development of computers, the thermal elasto-plastic analysis method has become a versatile tool for practical applications in the ship production. If numerical analysis is proved to be an advantageous tool to predict the residual deformation due to various heat processes, the optimum methods which can remove the welding distortion can be presented at each assembly stage, which will result in great progress in improving the accuracy of block assembly. In order to minimize the weld-induced angular distortion in thick weldments, this paper proposes the optimum groove design for various plate thickness as the distortion control method. The validity of this method has been substantiated by a number of numerical simulations and experiments.

During the process of oxide removal from work rolls in sheet metal manufacture, filamentary brushes frequently exhibit a bouncing or chatter behavior. The dynamics of this phenomenon is investigated through the development of expressions for the non-linear contact stiffness between the brush and the roll. With formulation of simple structural models, the time responses in the presence and absence of friction under random excitation are investigated. Possible solutions for the minimization or avoidance of this bouncing or chatter problem are also suggested.
차세대 IoT Infrastructure 인증 프로토콜에 대한 취약점 분석

The transition to 6G and IoT is expected to replace existing infrastructure, but the benefits can only be realized when users' privacy and security are guaranteed. Smartcard-based remote user authentication protocols can speed up the transition, but due to instability and over-calculation, most protocols are not meeting the requirements of next-generation networks. Recently, Lana and others have proposed a safe and light remote user authentication protocol for the next-generation IoT infrastructure by improving various security vulnerabilities. The proposed protocol claims to be safe from major security threats and suitable for IoT infrastructure. In this paper, we analyze the operational processes and vulnerabilities of the protocols proposed by Rana et al. and find that the proposed protocols are vulnerable to offline smart card attacks, complete forward secret racks, DOS attacks, bit mismatch, and insider attacks.

The welding distortion of a hull structure in the shipbuilding industry is inevitable at each assembly stage. This geometric inaccuracy caused by the welding distortion tends to preclude the introduction of automation and mechanization and needs the additional man-hours for the adjusting work at the following assembly stage. To overcome this problem, a distortion control method should be applied. For this purpose, it is necessary to develop an accurate prediction method which can explicitly account for the influence of various factors on the welding distortion. The validity of the prediction method must be also clarified through experiments. For the purpose of reducing the weld-induced bending deflection, this paper proposes the plastic counter-deforming method (PCDM) using the line heating as the optimum distortion control method. The validity of this method has been substantiated by a number of numerical simulations and actual measurements.
A Study of Hull Stress Monitoring System Considering Thermal Effect

This paper presents hull stress monitoring system installed in LNGC damaged by a Typhoon. Elongation/contraction of removed areas has been assessed in terms of possible residual stress that will take place in replaced blocks when the applied load is removed. The bending moment of a vessel changes actually in terms of loss of longitudinal members and the change of weight distribution in repair procedure. The change of bending moment affects mainly in hull stress of longitudinal members. Hull stress monitoring system was installed on upper deck to prove LNGC stable in the criteria to be less than 40MPa during the period of repair procedure. A temperature measuring system was also installed to exclude the additional stress due to thermal effect from the measured hull stress. As a result, the hull stress was modified with the data measured by the temperature measuring system. This hull stress considering thermal effect was used as a guide stress to check the safety of LNGC during the period of repair procedure. 선체구조설계를 위한 Aframax급 유조선의 구획배치 자동화 알고리즘 개발

Optimum structural design has been developed to apply actual ship structural design. Nowadays, optimum structural design technique has had application for the preliminary design focused on minimum weight and minimum cost of midship section. However, to reduce design man-hour and develop more efficient design technique, designer needs to combine optimized compartment arrangement with optimized ship structural design. Optimum structural design algorithm developed before could minimize weight and cost on fixed compartment arrangement. Therefore optimum structural design has been only available without modification of compartment arrangement and reinforcement types of transverse strength members. So, in this study, automated algorithm for compartment arrangement was developed to apply preliminary structural design. The developed algorithm was verified with Aframax oil tanker constructed by STX shipbuilding Co.,Ltd.
