<P>본 연구는 수박 탄저병 저항성 고정계통 육성을 위해서 수행하였다. 병저항성 검정으로 수집한 유전자원을 평가하여 저항성이 강한 ‘AU-Producer’를 선발하였다. 또한, 고품질 고정계통인 ‘920532’와 ‘920533’을 반복친으로 선발하였다. 이들을 양친으로 이용하여 교배, 여교잡과 병저항성 검정 및 선발 과정을 수행한 후 탄저병 저항성이며 품질이 우수한 개체를 선발하였다. 이러한 과정의 결과로써 탄저병 저항성이며 품질이 우수한 고정 계통 1, 2, 3, 4, 5호와 6호를 선발하였다. 선발된 계통들의 평균과중은 5.3~6.8㎏ 범위의 중대과종이며 과육색은 적색이다. 이들 과실의 당도는 9.6~11.3°Bx 범위로 과실의 표피에 뚜렷한 줄무늬가 있다. 본 연구의 수행으로 개발된 탄저병 저항성 계통들은 수박 F₁ 품종 육성을 위한 저항성 친으로 활용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.</P>

우리나라 수박 주산단지에 심한 피해를 주고 있는 수박 탄저병에 대한 저항성 계통 육성을 위하여 국내·외에서 수집한 수박 유전자원의 병 저항성 검정으로 탄저병 저항성이 강한 ‘AU-Producer’를 선발하여 저항성 친으로, 고품질 계통인 ‘920533’을 반복친으로 1993년 인공교배를 하였으며 1994년 부터 1998년까지 BC4F1세대를 진전하였다. 1998년부터 2001년까지 원예적 특성 고정을 위해 6회 자가수분하여 세대를 진전하였으며 원예적 특 The incidence of Anthracnose causing severe damage to the foliage and fruit in watermelon has increased in some major watermelon producing areas in Korea. To develop anthracnose resistant line, ‘AU-Producer’ having resistant gene to anthracnose was selected from germplasm and crossed with high quality line ‘920533’. Following the initial cross, backrossing and disease screening were performed to select resistant lines that produced high yields with excellent quality fruit. As a results of these procedure, a mid maturing watermelon line, ‘Hangyeol’ with resistance to anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare) race 1 and 3 was developed at the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science, Rural Development Administration (RDA). It has red flesh and commonly produces fruit with clear stripes on skin between 5.3 to 10.1 kg. Average soluble solid contents are ranged from 9.8 to 11.8°Bx. The yield and quality of ‘Hangyeol’ is comparable to or better than those harvested from the popular commercial cultivars. The achievement of this experiment could contribute to provide the resistant parents in an anthracnose resistance breeding program in watermelon.
수박 탄저병 Race 3 저항성 중만생종 수박 “한빛” 육성

탄저병 저항성 수박 계통을 육성하기 위하여 저항성 계통인 ‘AU-Producer’를 선발하여 탄저병 저항성 친으로, 고품질 계통인 ‘920533’을 반복친으로 1993년 교배하여 F1세대를 작성하였으며, 1994년부터 1996년까지 BC3F1세대를 진전하였고 중만생종인 ‘920532’를 반복친으로 추가하여 1997년 BC4F1세대를 작성하였다. 1998년부터 2001년까지 원예적 특성 고정을 위해 6회 자가수분하여 세대를 진전하였으며, 원예적 특성이 우 Anthracnose is a major limiting factor of the watermelon production in Korea. A mid-late maturing watermelon line, ‘Hanbit’ with resistance to anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare) race 1 and 3, was developed by the cross between anthracnose resistant cultivar ‘AU-Producer’ and high quality inbred line ‘920533’ at the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science, Rural Development Administration (RDA). ‘Hanbit’ produces 5.4 to 9.5 kg of red flesh fruits with clear stripes on skin. Average soluble solid contents are ranged from 10.4 to 11.2°Bx. The yield and quality of ‘Hanbit’ was comparable to or better than those harvested from the popular commercial cultivars. ‘Hanbit’ can be cultivated in open fields and under the protected green house condition. In addition to the commercial production, it can be used as a resistant material in F1 hybrid breeding program.
무우子葉生長을 利用한 生檢에 미치는 몇가지 要因에 關한 硏究

Experiments were conducted to find out the effect of several environmental and cultural factors on the growth of excised cotyledons of radish (Raphanus sativus L.). Among the 9 cultivars tested, 'Sinjinju' and 'Sachulyulmoo' were highly suitable for bioassay based mainly on the uniform seed germination, seedling vigor, and higher response to applied cytokinins. The growth of excised radish cotyledons was enhanced when the solution pH was increased from 4.0 to 6.0 but significantly suppressed in solutions of higher pH value. Incubation period of 72 hours, under the conditions of 24℃ and continuous illumination of fluorescence light at 1000 to 2000 lux, was proven to be most appropriate in terms of the duration and efficiency of the experiment. The cotyledons of dark-grown seedlings responded better to the applied cytokinins compared to the light-grown ones. Red fluorescence lighting was better than the white fluorescent or incandescent lightings when compared at the same intensity. Among the cytokinins compared, zeatin showed the best response followed closely by BA. Kinetin and 2-ip were less effective for increasing cotyledon growth as compared to zeatin and BA. Adenine sulfate suppressed the growth, though not effective at lower concentrations. Brassinolide significantly promoted the cotyledon expansion at low concentrations. At higher concentration (1 ppm), however, apparent toxicity symptoms, such as degreening and tissue softening, were noticed. The growth promoting effect of BA could be effectively countered by high concentrations of 2,4-D. The enhancing effect of BA was further maximized by the addition of brassinolide, thus showing the maximum growth promoting response at BA 1 ppm and brassinolide 10^(-3) ppm.

This study aimed to select resistant inbred lines against anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare) in watermelon (Citrullus lanatus). Based on the screening procedures, ‘AU-Producer’ with resistance to anthracnose was selected from the evaluated germplasm. We selected two high quality inbred lines, ‘920532’ and ‘920533’, as recurrent parents. Initial crosses, backcrossing, and disease screening programs were followed by the selection of disease resistant seedlings. As a result of these procedures, anthracnose resistant No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 were selected for high quality and showing resistance to anthracnose. Selected inbred lines of watermelon produced those fruits of red flesh with the size from medium to large as the mean fruit weight of 5.3 to 6.8 ㎏. Those fruits had the characteristics with the soluble solids content of 9.6 to 11.3°Bx and clear stripes on skin. The achievement of this experiment could contribute the possible practical applications on providing the resistant parents in the breeding program for F₁ cultivar of watermelon with the resistance to anthracnose.
