ACTH 및 Prostaglandin F_2α 의 投與가 Rat의 內分泌臟器에 미치는 影響

An experiment was conducted to determine the effects of subcutaneously administration of adreno-cortictropin (ACTH) and prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) on the endocrines in adultrats. One hundred and twenty adult rats were assigned randomly to receive S.C. one of three treatments and were treated as follows: ACTH treated group (A group) were injected subcutaneously with 4 unit of corticotropin twice daily for 12 days. ACTH and PGF2α treated group (AP group) were injected S. C. with 4 unit of corticotro-pin for 8 days. After treatment of ACTH, PGF2α (1,000㎍ in 0.25m1 saline) was injected S.C. once a day for 4 days. Control rats (C group) were injected S.C. with 0.25m1 of physiological saline twice daily for 12 days. The body weight and endocrines weight, as well as number of corpora lutea were investigated. Ovaries were examined by light microscopy. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. Body weight in A and AP group of administration of ACTH alone or in combination with PGF2α was not significantly different from that of controls. 2. The ovarian weight was more (p<0.01) in rats receiving ACTH and PGF2α than those treated with corticotropin or the control. There was no significant difference between A and C group. 3. The uterine weight were not affected either by corticotropin or PGF2α treatment. 4. The adrenal weight was significantly (p<0.01) increased in A group receiving 4 unit of corticotropin when compared with the controls. 5. Number of corpora lutea were decreased markedly (p<0.01) in the two gorups of rats of administration ACTH or in combination with PGF2α compared to the controls.
