To manufacture hightech easycare wool, there are several methods which use strong oxidising agent or the resin treatment, however, neither are environmentally friendly methods. Moreover it may deteriorate the handle. The aim of this study is to manufacture the hightech easycare wool using the modified Fenton method which can be formed by hydrogen peroxide and ferric sulfate and enzyme treatment. The method was pretreated by ferric sulfate on the wool surface and then the surface of wool scale was selectively removed by ferric ion catalyst. Subsequently the Enchiron which is one of the proteolytic enzymes was treated on the wool surface. The treated wool had the result of having optimum weight loss and excellent whiteness and good handle. Therefore implications of these results suggest that this method using the modified Fenton method and enzyme treatment may be one way of manufacturing the hightech easycare wool.

Poly(oxyethylene) alkylamine type nonionic surfactants were used in order to investigate their retarding, migration, and reserving effects on silk fabrics which were dyed with milling type acid dyes. Three different alkylamines (stearylamine, oleylamine, and laurylamine) and different numbers(10, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 60) of ethylene oxide groups were used for this purpose. The poly(oxyethylene) stearylamine with 10 moles of ethylene oxide groups showed the best results in terms of retarding and reserving effects. The poly(oxyethylene) laurylamines with various numbers of ethylene oxide groups were also found to be unsuitable as a levelling agents for silk fabric due to its low retarding effect. Both poly(oxyethylene) stearylamine and poly(oxyethylene) oleylamine were found to be suitable as levelling agents for silk fabric due to their moderate adhesion with dyes.
Use of a Foley Catheter for Anal Sacculectomy in Dogs
한태성,김중현,조기래,이혜연,김근형,최석화 한국임상수의학회 2007 한국임상수의학회지 Vol.24 No.1
Eight dogs were presented with anal sacculitis with purulent exudates and/or open in the right or left analed with closed anal sacculectomies, in which the balloonof a Foley catheter (No. 6, 1.5 ml) was used to facilitate surgical dissection of the sac. In all cases, the Foley cathetersuccessfully distended the anal sac during its removal. Clinical signs associated with the diseased anal sac were abatedin the all dogs for a follow-up period of one-to-three months. Anal sacculectomy is a good therapeutic option forcases of chronic anal sacculectomy or impaction. The use of a small Foley catheter to distend the anal sacs duringsurgery was easy, inexpensive, and successful.

This study has been conducted to compare the efficacy of sodium carboxymethylcellulose (SCMC) and hyaluronic acid (HA) on prevention of adhesion after artificial wound was induced in intestine. 1 % SCMC and 0.3% HA solution and saline solution were respectively administered to abdominal cavity. Each of the three groups consists of 11 rats. The abdominal cavity of each rat was coated with 2 ml of the allocated solution just after the abdomen was cut open, and it was coated with each solution of 1 ml before abrasion were caused on the cecum, the ascending colon and the transverse colon. Then, an additional 1 ml solution was injected before the abdomen was closed. On day 14 after the operation, each adhesion formation was evaluated at the score of 0-4. The HA group and SCMC group showed significantly lower adhesion scores than control group in all regions(P< 0.05). The adhesion scores of ascending colon, transverse colon and no abrasion region of the viscera showed little difference between HA group and SCMC group(P< 0.05), but the effect of adhesion reduction showed higher tendency in the HA group than the SCMC. The adhesion score of the cecum was significantly lower in HA group than SCMC group(P< 0.05). In conclusion, the SCMC solution and HA solution were effective on prevention of abdominal adhesion resulting from the celiotomy. Among of them, the HA solution could be more effective on prevention of adhesion than SCMC solution.
