        만화수용자 분석을 위한 연구방법론

        이 논문은 한국만화시장의 현황분석을 전제로, 국내 만화수용자 연구의 필요성을 제기하고, 만화수용자연구의 차별적인 연구방법론 제시를 통해 국내만화시장의 대안을 제시하는 연구이다. 기존 조사 연구되었던 만화수용자 연구성과를 토대로 변화하는 만화수용자의 현황을 체계적으로 분석할 수 있는 연구의 틀을 문화연구의 수용자론에 근거하여 제시한다. 그리고, 그러한 이론적 연구를 통해 급변하고 있는 만화의 패러다임의 변화에 맞춘 수용자의 환경분석과 수용행태분석의 틀을 마련하자는 것이다. 현재 국내 만화수용자는 이미 만화에 대한 적극적인 소비행위를 시도하고 있으며, 보다 다양한 시장접근방식을 통해 만화상품의 정보와 만화를 통해 시도할 수 있는 개인적 사회참여를 의도하고 있다. 그러한 수용자의 기호와 수용행태를 분석하는 것이 만화기획에 필요한 사전단계이며, 연구방법론이 필요한 이유이다. This study analyzes current situation of Korean comics market, emphasizes the necessity of studying comics audience. Presenting the differentiated methodology for comics study, the alternative solution for Korean comics market is given. The theoretical foundation is based on the cultural approach for audience studies. This study aims to find out the changing environment of taking comics contents and using behavior of it. Most audience of comics make use of them in various ways and try to use them in new experimental method. To analyze the tastes and using behavior of comics audience is necessary for preplanning of comics production.

        Methods of Improving Mechanical Integrity of Center-Link Chains for a Trolley Conveyor System

        The purpose of this study is to identify the causes of the continuous failure of center-link chains for a trolley conveyor system by analyzing their failure characteristics under static and dynamic loading conditions and to propose methods for securing their mechanical integrity. For this purpose, center-link chains were minimally processed to prepare testing specimens with their original surface property and structural dimension maintained. These specimens were used to measure the tensile strength (1172.1 MPa), elongation (8.7%), yield strength (1073.4 MPa), hardness (44.1 HRC), and surface roughness (\(R_{a}\) = 10.5 μm). A three-point bending fatigue test (R = 0.1) resulted in a fatigue limit of 746.7 MPa. The results confirmed that the rough surface of the center-link chain caused a reduction in the elongation and fatigue limit and an increase in the scattering of the surface hardness and fatigue life, which were the direct causes of frequent chain failure in the field. To improve the fatigue life of the center-link chain, two methods were reviewed in this study. The first method was to reduce its surface roughness through surface machining of the center-link chain, and the second was to modify its shape design to allow improved structural integrity, even if the current surface roughness is retained. In the case of the first method, the results of the fatigue test using the specimen with reduced surface roughness (from \(R_{a}\) = 10.5 to 0.9 μm) by surface machining demonstrated reduced scattering and increased fatigue limit (from 746.7 to 920.3 MPa). As for the second method, a stiffener was added and two design variables (slope angle and fillet radius) of the stiffener were selected to propose a new design that can reduce the maximum stress ~ 1.6 times compared to the conventional design. While both methods for improving the structural integrity of the center-link chain were effective enough to improve the fatigue life of the chain, the second method, which requires only the initial mold manufacturing cost for modifying the shape design of the chain, was finally selected, because it exhibited better economic feasibility than the first method that increases the product cost and overall process time due to addition of the surface machining process.

        애니메이션 산업의 대안적 연구 - 아바타 서비스의 소비자 고착화(lock-in) 전략을 중심으로

        This study analyses the avatar service, which is recognized as an alternative strategy of animation industry. The research questions of this study are following: (1) How have the avatar services been developed and what are the present dominant types? (2) Which structural characteristics of e-business environment are needed for the success of avatar services? (3) What is the economic characteristics of avatar business model? To solve these research questions, the basic conditions and the structural characteristics of avatar services have been investigated. In the first place, two forms of avatar service are classified. One is the internet service site whole primary service is to provide chatting service based on avatar service. The other is the portal site in which many kinds of products and services are presented as bundles to meet the needs of internet users. So avatar service is one of bundles which those portal sites are providing with. In this study, the big five internet service sites are selected based on the profits they earned through the sales of avatar service. The result of analysis is that the pricing strategy of those big five sites is very different from those of traditional off-line markets. The pricing mechanism are based on the value which internet users endow with the avatar items, not based on the costs of making the products. Avatar is the representative informative goods. The informative goods have the original cost structures, constant fixed costs and zero marginal costs, so the providers of avatar services make much of the subjective values of consumers. The sayclub, which is the most successful avatar service site and earn the average sales of 3 billing won a month, takes the aggressive strategy of pricing avatar items at highest price in the industry. The avatar service providers which make lots of profits are planning of making differentiate the services, introducing well-known brand items and star-named items. Nevertheless, the fact that the members of the sayclub are not decreasing means that the network effect of the site is so strongly manifest. Moreover, the costs the members have paid for the avatar items are so big not as to switch from one site to the other site, it can be very costly. These switching costs are endemic in high-technology industries and digital contents industries. It can be so large that switching suppliers is virtually unthinkable, a situation known as 'lock-in'. When switching costs are substantial, competition can be intense to attract new customers, since, one they are locked in, they can be a substantial source of profit. The consumers of avatar items have switching costs if they subscribe for the new avatar service site. The switching costs can be subscription costs as well as the costs of giving up the items they already paid for. One common example of switching costs involves specialized supplies, as with inkjet printer cartridges. In this example, the switching cost is the purchase of a new printer. The market is competitive ex ante, but since cartridges are incompatible, it is monopolized dx post. So the providers of printer/cartridges set pricing printer so cheap and cartridges expensive. On the contrary, since the avatar service can be successful with the strong network effect, the providers of avatar services have to compete aggressively for new customers. So they allow the subscription at a low price(almost marginal cost) in the early market. The network effect can be maximized when the members are sufficiently growing. The providers which have the monopoly power with sufficient subscribers. begin to raise the prices over the lifetime of the product and make profits.

        프랑스 '안시'라는 소도시에는 2년마다 전세계 애니메이터들과 만화영화기획자, 만화영화제작업자 등이 한자리에 모이는 거대행사가 열린다. 20회째를 맞은 이번 페스티벌은 1,240여편의 작품이 출품, 상설 견본시장에서 상호계약도 이뤄졌다. 이러한 페스티벌은 곧 출판만화와 애니메이션으로 연계되는 만화산업의 방향성을 제시한다는 점에서 고무적이다.
