To reduce the particulate matter and nitrogen oxides by diesel engine, many studies are proceeding and being accomplished practically. In this situation CNG engine has very important meanig both as a clean fuel and as a alternative energy. In order to present the direction and application, we have to understand the property of CNG fuel and then predict the performance with using CNG engine simulation program.<br/> From the simulation program we can get some results as heavy duty vehicles could be modified to CNG engine. Also it was proved that the optimum-combustion start angle was about 11° at 2200rpm from the pressure and power diagram.<br/>

Since the 1980's, the environmental pollution has been the major issue throughout the world. Specially, air pollution caussed by the vehicle emission has been recognized as the main source for the air pollution of the urban area. Therefore many countries have been strengthening the vehicle emission regulation. In this study, we have studied the theoretical analysis on the emission reduction principle and the factors affecting catalyst performance and tested the engine performance and exhaust emission in a midium duty diesel engine equipped with oxidation catalyst.<br/>
터보 과급기와 중간 냉각기 장착에 의한 디젤기관의 성능 예측과 배출 특성에 관한 연구

Turbocharger has been one of the methods to increase the performance of diesel engine past for years, especially ship engine. But recently, it is adopted not only agricultural engine but also automobile. To improve the performace of diesel engine, it is necessary to overcome the reduction of A/F ratio in high speed. Turbocharger is well know for its' cost effectiveness, reliability, and duration. In this study, an experiment was conducted for varification of performance simulation program and compared the differences between natural aspiation and turbocharged engine. In order to estimate the characteristic of exhaust gas, D-13 mode is selected. Power, torque, BSFC of turbocharged engine is more progressed than natural aspiration engine about 48%, 33%, 5%, respectively. Among the exhaust component, turbocharged engine is satisfied with 2000 regulation, except for NOx.<br/>
小型 디젤機關에서 FTP-75 모드에 따른 디젤酸化觸媒裝置의 排出가스 低減에 關한 實驗的 硏究

Recently, increasing usage of diesel vehicle, many countries try to reduce the pollutant materials by emission regulation standard. Particularly, in our country, the supplement ratio of diesel vehicle is high, and air pollution by particulate matter is very serious. So, in theoretical study we analyzed the formation principle of gaseous emission and particulate matter, the characteristics of FTP-75 mode. In experimental study, we tested exhaust gas reduction of diesel oxidation catalyst by FTP-75 mode in light duty diesel engine.<br/>
