This study aims to analyse previous research on discourse and pragmatics in Teaching Korean as a Second Language. 294 studies on the education of discourse, pragmatics, and speech acts published in 7 major journals, and academic dissertations in the field of Teaching Korean as a Second Language made up this study. This research was analysed based on topic and chronology. 15 research topics in discourse category, 8 in pragmatics category, and 11 in speech acts category were discovered in this study. 66% of all the research in these three categories were studied during the past 6 years, 2006~2011. The number of research topics were increased from 22 to 32 in the past 7 years(2005~2011). Politeness(36), discourse markers(28) and interlanguage speech acts(27) were the 3 most frequent research topics in the previous studies.

This paper presents an analysis of pragmatic problems in the discussions of advanced Korean language learners by focusing on the learners' use of discourse markers. The purpose of this study is to analyse the characteristics and problems in the learners' use of discourse markers and to present useful data for advanced learners' speech education. The discussions of 70 advanced Korean language learners from 11 countries, divided into seven groups, were transcribed and analysed. The results reflect three characteristics of the learners' discussions.: 1) Time-saving markers(67%) appeared the most frequently, and topic development markers(16%) and turn-taking markers(8%) appeared with subsequent frequency. 2) Some of the markers were used in various functions, especially in the case of 'yes(네)', which was used in seven different functions. 3) Pragmatic problems appeared frequently, and were divided into five types: (a) misuse of functions, (b) use of the first language, (c) use of misform, (d) omission, and (e) overuse.

This paper presents a study on developing the speech test tools for learners of Korean for Academic purpose. The purpose of this study is to suggest a sample of useful proficiency test tool sets for evaluating communicative competence of the learners of Korean who prepare to enter Korean colleges. The research is composed of 4 chapters. The first chapter presents the purpose this study. The second chapter focuses on the theoretical background of the study, especially on the content and the assessment categories of the speech test tools, the task·function lists for academic purpose, and the proficiency level for studying in colleges. The third chapter is composed of three sub-chapters which show the assessment criteria, types of question forms for the speech test, and the samples of the test tool set. In the last chapter a brief summarization of this study is made and some suggestions are offered. (Yonsei University)

The present study aims to present the principles of developing a video content for mobile-learning and to show the implementation process of the content, focusing on intermediate TOPIK comprehension section. This study reports four major principles of mobile content development; student-centeredness, motivation, input-efficiency, and authenticity. First, to keep the learning process student-centered, a variety of question types were formed for the learners to organize and decide the order and method of learning for themselves, while self-evaluation stage was set up for the learners to check what they have learned. Next, to build and constantly maintain the learners’ motivation and interest, learning strategies were constructed by the ARCS (Attention, Relevance, Confidence and Satisfaction) motivation theory. Also, strategic learning methods were invented in the input process to improve the learners’ inner cognitive processing ability. Lastly, all the texts were constructed to have authenticity in meaningful contexts. Under these principles, the video content consists of the following six stages; 1) learning objective 2) strategies for solving the question 3) applying the strategies 4) language learning strategy 5) expected questions 6) self-evaluation.
사회복지사의 감정노동이 소진에 미치는 영향 - 슈퍼비전과 인권의 조절효과를 중심으로 -

본 연구의 목적은 사회복지사의 감정노동이 소진에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 슈퍼비전과 인권이 조절기능을 하는지 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 국가인권위원회(2013)의 ‘사회복지사 인권상황 실태조사 보고서’에 사용된 전국 사회복지사를 대상으로 조사한 2,295명의 데이터를 활용하였다. 분석결과, 개인 지원에 초점을 두는 슈퍼비전은 유의미한 조절효과를 보이지 않았으며, 조직시스템에 기반 하는 인권 요인인 권리침해경험, 상사 및 동료의 폭력, 클라이언트 폭력은 모두 유의미한 조절효과가 나타났다. 연구결과, 사회복지사의 감정노동으로 인한 소진 완화를 위해서는 사회복지사들의 인권보호를 위한 조직시스템을 강화할 필요성이 제시된다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 사회복지사들의 인권강화를 위한 제도적 보완책으로 사회복지사들의 인권과 노동법 교육의 의무화, 사회복지사들의 안전권 확보를 위한 기관의 노력 강화, 감정노동자를 보호하는 구체적인 법안 마련 등의 실천적, 정책적 방안을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of emotional labor on burnout for social worker focused on moderating effect of supervision and human rights. For this, the data of 2,295 social workers on national wide which was used in The Report of Actual Situation Survey of Social Worker’s Human Rights by National Human Rights Commission of The Republic of Korea in 2013 were analyzed. The results showed that the supervision which focus on supporting individual were not significant moderating effect to social worker’s emotional labor lead to burnout, while factors related on human rights were all significant moderating effects. Factors related on human rights were included such as the experience of infringement of basic right, the experience of violence from peer and superior in the workplace and also from clients. According to the study, it is concluded that reducing the burnout caused by emotional labor could be achieved through strengthening organization system to protect social worker’s human rights. This study was meaningful to examine empirically how alleviate burnout caused by emotional labor, distinctively both by supporting individual social worker and by improving the system. This study suggested practical and political way to enhance human rights for social workers, including mandatory education on human rights and labor law for them, the enforcement of the duty for social work organization to improve worker’s safety rights and legislation specifically to protect the emotional labor.
고급 한국어 학습자의 토론 담화에 나타난 조사 오류 양상 분석

The purpose of this study is to analyse the errors on the usage of particles in the discussion of advanced Korean Language Learners. Since there are few studies on analysis of particle errors focusing on spoken language of advanced learners, the current is one of the first studies that examine the aspects of particle errors of advanced Korean learners` spoken products. The discussions of 70 advanced learners of Korean language from 11 countries, divided into seven groups, were transcribed and analysed. The results show that there are three characteristics in their use.: 1) the rate of particle error occurrence(9.2%) of the advanced learners` discourse is lower than those of the results of previous researches on the advanced Korean learners` written texts(12.0%~12.9%), and the intermediate learners` spoken (10.2%) & written materials(10.4%). 2) the highest rate of error occurrence is the subjective particle ‘이/가’(17.2%), the adverbial particle ‘에’(12.6%), and the objective particle ‘을/를’(11.8%) in order. 3) among the six types of errors(errors of substitution, ommission, addition, form, paraphrasing, and pronunciation) substitution errors has the highest frequency of occurrence.

A Research on the development of the online Korean Curriculum. Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, 37, 411~448. This is a research on the development of the online Korean curriculum of the Korean Language Institute(KLI), Yonsei University, focusing on the educational contents comprising the KLI online Korean program and the principle of LMS development. In chapter two, we examined the concepts of e-learning, e-learning 2.0 and smart-learning, and the characteristics of e-learning activities. In chapter three, the principles of developing online contents for Korean language education were investigated by holistically examining the content composition along with a model unit. In chapter four, the principles of LMS development were demonstrated and plans for program implementation were suggested. Finally, in chapter five, we summarized our study and established and explained its significance.
