백하수오(白何首烏)의 항산화활성(抗酸化活性)과 amino acid의 분포(分布)에 관한 실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究)

The aim of the presents study is to investigate and compare the antioxidative effects and qualities of the cultivating root of Cynanchum Wilfori, which is increasingly used in recent days, with those of the wilding root, which has mainly been used in the past in oriental medicine for a tonic and also for prevention and treatment of various geriatric diseases including aging progress. For comparison of their antioxidative effects, the activities of the total extracts on lipid peroxidation and the activity of aldehyde oxidase(EC 1.2.3.1) as well as xanthine oxidase(EC 1.2.3.2) were investigated in vitro. In addition, their inhibitory effects on the activity of 5-lipoxygenase, which is known to induce inflammation and concerned with free radicals, were also determined in vitro. Furthermore, the amino acid contents of both roots were analyzed in order to compare their qualities. The results are as follows: 1. The wilding root inhibited significantly the activity of 5-lipoxygenase, showing five times more portent than the cultivating root. 2. Both of the wilding root and the cultivating root inhibited aldehyde oxidase activity in a dose-dependant manner. The wilding root was more effective than the other. 3. Both of the wilding root and the cultivating root dose-dependently suppressed lipid peroxidation in rat brain, kidney, and liver. 4. The anti-peroxidative effects of both roots appeared to be most strong in brain and least in liver. In particular, the cultivating root exhibited a significant inhibition on brain lipid peroxidation. 5. The cultivating root contained 15 amino acids including five essential amino acids in contrast with the less contents in the wilding root.

A stretchable thermoelectric module consisting of 5 pairs of Bi2Te3-based hot-pressed p-n thermoelectric legs was processed by filling the module inside with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and removing the top and bottom substrates. Its stretchable characteristics and power generation properties were measured. The integrity of the module was kept well even after 10 strain cycles ranging from 0 to 0.1. With increasing the tensile strain to 0.2, the module circuitry became open because of joint failure between Cu electrodes and thermoelectric legs. The stretchable thermoelectric module exhibited an open circuit voltage of 4.6 mV with a temperature difference of 2.2K across both ends of thermoelectric legs, and changes in its open circuit voltage were below 5% for tensile strains of 0~0.1. Being elongated for a strain of 0.1, it exhibited the maximum output power of 18.5 μW with the temperature difference of 2.2K across its both ends. 5쌍의 Bi2Te3계 p-n 가압소결체 열전레그들로 구성되어 있으며 상하부 기판이 없고 내부는 polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)로 충진되어 있는 신축열전모듈을 형성하고, 이의 신축특성과 발전특성을 분석하였다. 신축열전모듈에 변형률0~0.1 범위의 신축변형 싸이클을 10회 인가하여도 모듈의 integrity가 잘 유지되었으며, 인장변형률이 0.2로 증가시 Cu 전극과 열전레그 사이의 접합부 파단에 의해 모듈이 open 되었다. 신축열전모듈은 열전레그 양단간의 온도차가 2.2 K일 때4.6 mV의 open circuit 전압을 나타내었으며, 변형률 0~0.1 범위의 인장변형에 의한 open circuit 전압의 변화는 5% 미만이었다. 신축열전모듈은 0.1의 변형률로 인장된 상태에서 레그 양단간 온도차 2.2 K에 의해 18.5 μW의 최대발전출력을나타내었다.

170[kV] GIB 내에서 건조공기(Dry Air)의 절연파괴 특성

In this paper, we changed $SF_6$ insulation gases used already in the GIB(Gas Insulated Bus, gas insulated busbar) of switching appliances of power grid 170[kV] GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear, Gas Insulated Switchgear) with green insulation dry air gases and studied dielectric breakdown voltage characteristics by the AC voltage withstand test. Withstand test AC voltage applied to the standard KEPCO's 170[kV] GIB with dry air insulation and and the equivalent of dry air and $SF_6$ gas were examined. Breakdown voltage of dry air, using an expression of the experiments were calculated and AC Withstand criterion of dry air insulation for the AC voltage test was derived. Using the criterion, dry air gases can be used instead of the $SF_6$ gas was confirmed in the factory acceptance test at 170[kV] GIB.
