The purpose of this study is to investigate stability of a high speed train and to propose optimal design using sensitivity analysis of suspension design parameters. A form of equations of motion in tangent track and curve track is obtained based on each creep force. Tangent track and curve track equations include lateral, rolling and yawing motions of wheel sets, bogies, and carbodies. Three track cases have been chosen to stability assesment of a high speed train analysis. Sensitivity equations are set up by directly differentiating the equations of motion. This study defined Stability performance index of a high speed train in tangent track and curve track. The relative magnitude of the effect of suspension parameters on the critical speed is computed, and by adjusting these parameters, the increase of the critical speed is achieved.

The human arm is modeled by three rigid bodies(the upper arm, the forearm and the hand)with seven degree of freedom(three in the shoulder, two in the elbow and two in the wrist). The objective of this work is to present a method to determine the three-dimensional kinematics of the human elbow joint using a magnetic tracking device. Euler angle were used to determine the elbow flexion-extension, and the pronation-supination. The elbow motion for the various driving conditions is measured through the driving test using a simulator. Discomfort levels of elbow joint motions were obtained as discomfort functions, which were based on subjects’ perceived discomfort level estimated by magnitude estimation. The results showed that the discomfort posture of elbow joint motions occurred in the driving motion.

In this study, a modeling method of power-assisted steering systems and driver models for vehicle dynamic analysis using AUTODYN7 is presented. Pressure-flow relations of flow control valve are derived, and the equations of motion, of a steering force can be represented as a function of steering wheel angle or tonque. Driver model was modeled based on a PID controller and forward target method. With the steering systems and driver model, various driving tests are conducted using AUTODYN7.

The development of efficient and precise handling of an liquid crystal display (LCD) panel has been addressed as the sizes of LCD panels become much larger than ever. The majority part of LCD panel handling is conducted by industrial robots for the cost reduction and the quality control. A challenging problem, vibration of the panel, can be found when the robots are utilized for handling LCD panels. The vibration causes the poor product precision and the low productivity. The characteristics of LCD panels, which are the high size-to thickness ratio, the high elasticity, and the high brittleness, are the major sources of the vibration This paper introduces the vibration attenuation techniques to overcome the difficulties encountered in the LCD production using the industrial robots.

Carboxy-guns are used for rapid and precise injection of CO2 gas to the target skin area using external power source. In the design of carboxy-gun, the most important thing is how to precisely control injection volume of CO2 gas. This paper deals with the control scheme of injection volume of carboxy-gun using solenoid valve. First the amount of volume that passes through the solenoid valve under on-off time ratio control is estimated based on the assumption of compressible gas flow. The flow rate of gas is experimentally measured under the varying pressure of the gas reservoir. Two results showed good correlation to each other, thus demonstrating the validity of the volume control strategy.
