Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine structural abnormalities of brain in patients with pathological gambling(PG) using voxel-based morphometry. Methods : We compared gray matter(GM) volumes between 10 patients with PG and 14 age- and IQ-matched healthy controls and examined the relationship of GM volumes with clinical variables in patients with PG. Results : We found significant increase of GM volume in the superior, middle, and inferior frontal gyri, the midbrain, the middle temporal gyrus, the precuneus, and the fusiform gyrus of patients with PG. A significant decrease of GM volume was observed in the parahippocampal gyrus and the lingual gyrus of the patient group. In addition, GM volumes in some of these regions were positively associated with South Oaks Gambling Screen score and negatively with age of onset in patients with PG. Conclusion : Current findings indicate that structural abnormalities in the fronto-temporal cortex, the midbrain, and the precuneus might be involved in the pathophysiology of PG, and contribute to some of the behavioral changes observed in patients with PG.

중국과 대만의 사회연결망에 대한 비교

This study compared the social networks of China and Taiwan with some facts. The main results are summarized as follows. First of all, when comparing China and Taiwan in relation to the perception of life satisfaction and achievement of goals, Taiwan, which has a relatively high economic level, appears to be higher than China in overall life satisfaction. This was appearing higher than Taiwan. Looking at subjective health status and level of perception of household balance, it was found that Taiwan and China were good. We believe that the state of health is a result of reflecting the situation closely related to the economic level. Next, when looking at the perceptions related to the income gap, the recognition level of the need to bridge the gap was also relatively high in China and Taiwan, where the perception of the excessive income gap was relatively high. At the level of recognition of government responsibility for bridging the gap, China, a socialist country, was relatively strong, while Taiwan, a liberal state, was relatively weak. Next, in terms of social isolation-related perception, China was relatively high in isolation-related perception, and Taiwan was relatively low. It can be seen that there is a difference in perception related to social isolation between China and Taiwan, which can be regarded as the same culture. In conclusion, China and Taiwan’s social network is considered to be a situation where Taiwan, which is better than China at the economic level, is particularly superior to China in social networks. 본 연구에서는 중국과 대만의 사회연결망에 대해 몇 가지 사실을 가지고 비교해 보았다. 그 주요한 결과를 요약하여 제시하면 다음과 같다. 먼저 생활만족과 목표달성에 대한 인식과 관련하여 중국과 대만을 비교해 보면, 경제수준이 상대적으로 높은 대만이 전반적인 생활만족도에서 중국보다 높게 나타나고 있는 것으로 보이고, 목표달성 수월정도에서는 상대적으로 활력이 높은 중국이 대만보다 높게 나타나고 있었다. 주관적 건강상태 및 가계수지 균형에 대한 인식수준을 보면, 대만, 중국 순으로 양호한 것으로 나타나고 있었다. 건강상태는 경제수준과 긴밀하게 연관되어 있는 정황이 반영되는 결과라고 본다. 다음으로 소득격차와 관련한 인식을 보면, 소득격차 과다에 대한 인식수준이상대적으로 높은 중국과 대만에서 격차해소 필요성 인식수준 또한 상대적으로높게 나타나고 있었다. 격차해소에 대한 정부책임 인식수준에서는 사회주의 국가인 중국이 상대적으로 강하게 동조하고 있는 반면 자유주의 국가인 대만은상대적으로 약하게 동조하고 있었다. 다음으로 사회적 고립감 관련 인식을 보면, 고립감 관련 인식에서 중국이 모두 상대적으로 높은 수준을 보이고 있었고, 대만은 상대적으로 모두 낮은 수준을 보이고 있었다. 같은 문화권이라고 볼 수 있는 중국과 대만 사이에서 사회적 고립과 관련한 인식에 차이가 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 결론적으로 중국과 대만의 사회연결망은 경제수준에서 중국보다는 사정이 나은 대만이 사회연결망에 있어 중국보다 특별히 우월하다고 할 만한 처지는 아니라고 판단된다.

갑상선에 생긴 원발성 편평세포암에 관한 고찰

Background and ObjectivesZZSquamous cell carcinoma of thyroid is uncommon and accounts for less than 1% of all primary thyroid malignancies. Clinical features mimic the natural course of anaplastic carcinoma. This study reviewed the clinical course of six cases of primary squamous cell carcinoma of thyroid. Subjects and MethodZZWe diagnosed six cases of primary squamous cell carcinoma of thyroid diagnosed from 1999 to 2006 at the College of Medicine Department of Pathology. Clinical data, treatment modality, and pathologic test results from medical records were retrospectively analyzed. ResultsZZWe found five women and one man (with the mean age of 52.1 years) with squamous cell carcinoma of thyroid. The main presenting features were abruptly enlarging neck swelling and obstructive symptom. Pre-operative needle aspiration biopsy revealed papillary carcinoma in five cases. Only one patient was diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma through pre-operative needle aspiration biopsy. Three patients had massive adjacent organ invasion, and four patients had lymph node metastasis according to the pathology review. There were no cases of distant metastasis at the time of treatment. All patients received surgery and adjuvant therapy (radiation therapy, chemotherapy, radioiodine therapy). Three patients are still alive with a mean follow up period of 47.3 months (range, 44-49 months). The other three patients died within one year post-operatively. ConclusionZZPrimary squamous cell carcinoma of thyroid should be considered in patients diagnosed with papillary carcinoma and who exhibit aggressive clinical behavior. Complete tumor resection and radiotherapy should be performed if thyroid squamous cell carcinoma is confirmed.

Rapid-Onset Hyponatremia Induced by Duloxetine in a Middle-Aged Male with Depression and Somatic Symptoms

Duloxetine is a relatively balanced selective serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor. We report a case of hyponatremia induced by duloxetine developed rapidly after starting the medication in a middle-aged male with multiple somatic symptoms and depression. Two days after discontinuation of duloxetine and management with hypertonic saline as well as fluid restriction, the serum sodium level normalized. The patient had two risk factors for developing hyponatremia, such as severe body weight loss and pneumonia. Therefore, when treating patients with depression and somatic symptoms, especially with risk factors for developing hyponatremia, close monitoring for clinical and laboratory evidence of hyponatremia may be essential.

해운기업의 핵심역량이 해사대 학생들의 승선기업 선택에 미치는 영향 분석

This study is to analyze the effects of the shipping company's core competencies on the satisfaction of the cadets who have completed the consignment practice at the shipping company and on the long-term boarding and onboard company choice after graduation. To do this, the survey was conducted on 211 cadets who completed consignment practice by setting up questionnaires based on prior research. the results of the verification by setting up the hypothesis were then derived as follows: First, the value and persistence of the shipping companies’s core competences have a impact on the satisfaction of the boarding practice, with an influence of 32.4% and 32.7% respectively. Second, the satisfaction of boarding practice had a significant impact on the choice of the boarding companies after graduation, with an influence of 49.7%. Third, it has been found that there is a low influence of 4.5% between the satisfaction of boarding practice and the long-term boarding. Fourth, it was found that 74 percent of the high influence was forming between the selection of the boarding companies and the long-term boarding. Based on research results, it was confirmed that the shipping company would need an effort to improve the satisfaction level of cadets are needed to increase core competencies and to retain excellent crews in order to improve the capability of ship management. 본 연구는 해운기업의 핵심역량이 해당 기업에서 승선실습을 마친 실습생들의 만족도와 이것이 졸업 후 승선 기업선택 및 장기승선에 미치는 영향을 연구하는데 있다. 이를 위해 선행연구 등을 바탕으로 설문 문항을 설정하여 위탁실습을 마친 실습생 211명을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하고 가설을 설정하여 검증한 결과, 다음과 같은 연구 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 기업의 핵심역량에 해당하는 가치성과 지속성은 승선 실습의 만족도에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치며, 이들에 대한 영향력은 각각 32.4%와 32.7%로 나타났다. 둘째, 승선실습 만족도는 졸업 이후 승선기업 선택에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 이들에 대한 영향력은 49.7%로 나타났다. 셋째, 승선실습의 만족도와 장기 승선간에는 4.5% 수준의 낮은 영향력이 형성되고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 넷째, 승선기업 선택과 장기 승선간에는 74%의 높은 영향력이 형성중인 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로 해운기업은 선박관리 능력 향상을 위해 핵심역량을 증대시키고, 우수한 해기인력을 수급받기 위한 실습생 만족도 향상 노력이 필요하다는 것을 확인하였다.

중국 리엔화(联华)기업의 경영전략에 관한 연구

본 논문에서는 우선 중국경제의 발전방식 전환에 따른 유통산업의 중요성, 권역별 성시구분 등을 중심으로 중국 유통기업의 중서부지역 진출의 중요성 및 필요성에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 다음으로 중국 리엔화(联华)기업의 중서부 지역에 대한마케팅전략을 분석하기로 하겠다. 이에 대한 분석도구로는 리엔화 기업의 SWOT 분석과 마케팅수단인 STP전략을 포함한 영업전략을 활용하기로 하겠다.
