Characteristics of the additional rail stress and displacement were investigated to suggest a design chart for railway bridge. Numerical interaction analysis between track and bridge was conducted for conventional line as well as high speed line. Various parameters such as structure configuration, ballast type, stiffness of deck and support were considered in numerical analysis. Action due to changes in temperature, bending of the deck, braking and acceleration were taken into account in analysis.

HEMU-400X train have been developed and will be operated over 350km/h. In this paper, the influence of vertical alignment on running behavior and safety for HEMU-400X train was instigated by numerical analysis. The wavelength and amplitude of vertical alignment were considered in scenario of this numerical analysis. This research is based on just numerical analysis and the final result which include measurement will be published in the future.

Vehicle dynamic behavior should be investigated to establish the track irregularity criteria because they have an impact on vehicle dynamic behavior. The tilting train which have been developed in Korea will be operated on the conventional line. Therefore, it should be checked that the track irregularity criteria of conventional line is still available for the new vehicle. In this paper, the influence of vertical alignment on running behavior and safety for tilting train was instigated by numerical analysis. The wavelength and amplitude of vertical alignment were considered in scenario of this numerical analysis. This research is based on just numerical analysis and the final result which include measurement will be published in the future.

It is highly important to make a track irregularities standars appropriately considering the running behavior of the vehicle as well as the maintenance policy for the track. In this paper, the relationship between track irregularities and the acceleration of KTX were investigated to show how the longitudinal level and alignment influence on the lateral and vertical acceleration of KTX. using the measurement data in Kyeongbu high speed line.

In recently, rail deteriorations -rolling contact fatigue, wear, etc- arise as hot issue of track maintenance by speed increasing of railway. And the relative importance of the rail maintenance in concrete track, which is adopted as a track system for 2nd phase of Kyung-Bu and Ho-Nam high speed line, will be increased much more. Furthermore the rail maintenance trouble was already serious in Metro by excessive wear of rail profile, and excessive noise in sharp curve line. But effective scheme for the rail maintenance is established yet in our country. To work out such a problem by laboratory test or simulation, the wheel-rail contact simulator was developed. The simulator was developed to test various phenomena on wheel and rail surface by contact of wheel and rail at speed of maximum 400㎞/h using real scale wheel and rail which are also variable. And, using the simulator, it can be investigate deterioration phenomena of wheel and rail under various contact angle, attack angle, running speed, environmental condition, wheel and thrust load condition. The test results using the machine can be used for improvement of profile of wheel and rail, estimation of life period of rail and wheel etc, and, after all, it leads effective maintenance of wheel and rail.

경부고속철도 1단계 구간은 장대터널 3개소를 제외하고 모두 자갈도상궤도로 건설되었다. 고속열차의 주행과 자갈도상궤도의 특성으로 인하여 개통 초기부터 유지보수 비용이 발생하고 있다. 특히 자갈궤도는 다른 환경적인 영향도 많이 받으며, 잦은 궤도틀림이 발생하여 이로 인한 추가적인 유지보수가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 궤도틀림에 영향을 미치는 환경요인을 분석하는 기초연구로써 계절변화에 따른 궤도품질 변화를 살펴보았다. The ballast track was constructed in full operation line excpet of 3 long tunnels in Gyeongbu - high speed railway 1st stage section. Due to the characteristics of operation of vehicle and ballast track, the track maintenance cost has been disbursed from beginning of the opening. Especially, the ballast track is considerably influenced by other environmental effects and requires additional maintenance owing to the occurrence of the frequent track irregularity. In this study, the variation of track quality was observed according to seasonal variation as a basic research for analyzing the effect of environmental factor on track irregularity.
