        가족 이데올로기와 문학 연구

        최시한(Choe Sihan) 돈암어문학회 2006 돈암어문학 Vol.- No.19

This thesis examines the theory and methods to study family ideology, focusing on the novel. The short story Haedogi by Choe, Seohae is examined and summarized to make a series of conclusion. Writer let himself be a problematic person in a context of history. Choe Seohae's dilemma of family is also a dilemma of a subject losing one's nation forcing him to embody it in the form of novel. His short story Haedogi is a result of historical reality of Korea when it was at the gateway to modern times; many changes and shifts and its loss of national sovereignty made a relation between family and society so confronted each other that one has to choose the only one of them. From this, socialism can be a good method to cover or solve this dilemma because it can substitute lost father with a new 'ideal father.' However, Choe's familism and conscience as an writer do not allow him to choose that way. His novels and life as an writer show us the typical response to socialism like many Korean people, who are tied up to traditional family ideology with loss of their country, did. The dilemma that someone should choose one side only instead of the other one is just concealed and rationalized without any findings to creatively solve it.
