        의대생의 전문직으로의 사회화 과정 고찰

        The purpose of this study is to examine the process through which medical students develop the professional expertise required to be a doctor. To achieve this end, various factors affecting specialization were broadly analyzed to develop diagnostic measures to examine the process of professional socialization. These measures consist of 24 analytic factors, 13 being profession-specific, 6 concerning self-management and 5 related to sociability with others. In all they prove to be highly reliable diagnostic measures. The confidence level of profession-specific factors is measured at 0.909 while those of self-management factors and sociability with others are computed at 0.725 and 0.830 respectively. The results from examining the process of professional socialization of medical students indicate that the respective year of medical study affects the profession-specific factors the most. It was also found that life satisfaction level as a medical student exerted the greatest influence on self-management factors. As for sociability factors, the year in medical school was notably the most significant variable. The more senior the students were, the more likely they displayed leadership. More junior students, on the other hand, showed qualities of compassion, peer support and willingness to serve others. We expect that the findings of our study will help identify pressing issues and needs in facilitating specialization of medical students. In turn, it is hoped that a curriculum can be developed through which students are able to find their special skills at an opportune moment. 본 연구는 의과대학 학생들이 의사로서 갖추어야 할 전문성을 재학 기간 중 어느 시기에 성장시켜 나가는지 그 사회화 과정을 진단하는 것을 목적으로 한 연구이다. 전문직으로서 사회화 과정을 진단하기 위하여 기존 선행연구에서 다룬 전문성 요소를 종합 분석하여 사회화 과정을 진단할 수 있는 진단도구를 개발하여 활용하였다. 진단도구는 직업전문요인 13요소, 자기관리요인 6요소, 타인관계요인 5요소로 총 3개 요인 24개 요소로 구성되어 있다. 이 진단도구의 검사문항에 대한 신뢰도 분석 결과 직업전문요인 .909, 자기관리요인 .725, 타인관계요인 .830으로 높은 신뢰도를 보이고 있다. 사회화 과정 고찰 결과 직업전문요소와 타인관계요소에 가장 영향을 미치는 변수는 학년으로 나타났고, 자기관리요소에서 가장 영향을 미치는 변수는 생활만족도인 것으로 나타났다. 이처럼 의과대학 학생들의 전문직으로의 사회화 과정을 분석함으로써 시기에 따라 적절한 교육프로그램을 개발하여 노출할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 전문화를 위해 반드시 필요한 핵심현안과 당면과제 및 시사점을 도출할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

        임상실습 내실화를 위한 일례 연구: 학생 경험 중심으로

        This study evaluated the meaning of the clinical clerkship through in-depth interviews with students who had experienced a clinical clerkship. The clinical clerkship is one of the most important steps in the curriculum for becoming a doctor. While students perform actual clinical practice, the experience also reinforces a great deal of medical knowledge and competence as a reserve doctor. However, departments that operate inefficiently have caused some problems. Therefore, this study analyzed the data from interviews of 25 students who finished the clinical clerkship in terms of the meaning of the clinical clerkship, the attitude of the students toward work in clinical practice, the attitude of professors toward the clinical clerkship, benefits, and drawbacks. Comments are feedback from a student's experience in the clinical clerkship, and they may be an important resource illuminating the current status of clinical practice. This study also discusses how to run an effective clinical clerkship by checking in with students on the problems they face in clinical practice.

        학생인턴 참여 학생의 경험에 대한 질적 연구: 대구가톨릭대학교 의과대학 사례

        The purpose of this study was to establish a better operation plan for medical school student internship by gaining a deeper understanding of the student internship process. Toward this end, an investigation was carried out using in-depth interviews of students with experience as student internship at Catholic University of Daegu School of Medicine. Students who participated in the student internship program at Catholic University of Daegu School of Medicine took part in the clinic twice every two-week period for a total of four weeks as a member of the care team. The students performed several activities during their internships, including for example history taking, physical examinations, keeping medical records, simulation of writing prescriptions, clinical skills, patient education, night work, and rounds with the attending professor. In this study were analyzed the contents of a student internship, the difference in clerkship, the competence of the faculty, student participation attitudes and the overall effect of the internship on the students. It was found that the in-depth contents, passion of members including professors and students, especially the role of the professor, was more important component than the contents of the internship program or clinical training. The student-intern system was revealed to have the following positive characteristics: 1) education deeper than clerkship was performed through one-on-one faculty-student interaction, and 2) students' experience was broadened.

        평생교육 시대에 따른 대학의 역할 변화

        오늘날 평생교육의 패러다임이 바뀌어 평생교육기관으로서 대학의 역할이 강조되고 있다. 예전처럼 평생교육이 여유 있는 계층의 여가 교육 중심, 혹은 단순히 기술 교육만 하는 것이 아니라 사회의 환경변화와 고령화 시대 길어진 생애 주기에 맞춘 평생교육 기관으로서 새지평을 여는 대학의 재구조화 된 모습을 제안하고자 한다. 이제 대학은 대학 자체의 역할뿐만 아니라 지역사회와 끊임없이 상호작용하면서 상생하는 선순환 구조를 만들어 나가야 한다. 특히 성인학습자들은 그 지역사회의 발전에 든든한 주춧돌 역할을 하고 있기 때문에 대학에서 이들이 더욱 더 성장할 수 있도록 교육하고 사회에 나가서는 지역사회에 재능을 환원할 수 있는 구조를 만들어 나가야 할 것이다. 향후 대학은 적극적으로 성인학습자들에게 대학 문호를 개방하여 평생교육의 중심에 대학이 자리매김하고 지역사회 발전에 이바지하기 위해서는 지역사회와 교류하고 협력해야 할 것이다.

        의과대학생이 인식하는 좋은 수업의 요건 탐색

        Medical school students learn a lot about medical knowledge and clinical experience in the classroom. Teaching is a main focus in medical schools; therefore, it is necessary to identify the characteristics of good teaching. The aim of this study is to analyze the characteristics of high-quality education in medical schools. In this study, in-depth interviews were conducted over two weeks on twelve fourth-year medical students. Participants were asked to define high-quality education, list the general ways in which high-quality classes are delivered, mention cases where they have experienced high-quality teaching, and describe the attitude required of students to make high-quality education possible. The results showed that students want to be taught in an interactive way on the core content needed in an actual clinical setting for the goal of cultivating primary care physicians. They want their education to include not only medical knowledge, but also liberal art subjects such as politics, economics, sociology, culture and ethics education to help instill a sound value system. In particular, students stressed the importance of instructors delivering appropriate post-evaluation feedback, and they also emphasized that learner mindset and attitude is important in supporting high-quality teaching in class. This paper also summarizes the elements of high-quality teaching in terms of educational goals, content, and method, and examines cases of instructors who have delivered high-quality classes.

        미래사회 변화에 대응하기 위한 교육적 과제와 대학 운영에 관한 연구

        The conditions of university education are also changing as society changes. In particular, the rapid decline in the school-age population heralds a change in the environment of university education. In this study, we would like to draw up educational issues that arise with changes in the educational environment, and propose the university's efforts to resolve them. For example, the challenges of change include expanding the scope of admission resources, providing substantial education, producing competent talent, and administrative and financial bases for implementing educational tasks. Based on this, it is necessary to understand the change in educational paradigm for all members to have a solid education, starting with opening university doors to adult learners. In addition, efforts to change need to be made in consideration of various categories and factors in order to strengthen the educational power of universities in relation to the administrative and financial foundations for implementing them. 사회의 변화에 따라 대학교육의 여건 또한 변화하고 있다. 특히 학령기 인구의 급격한 감소는 대학교육 환경의 변화를 예고하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 교육환경 변화에 따라 나타나는 교육적 이슈를 도출하고, 이를 해결하기 위한 대학의 노력을 제안하고자 한다. 예를 들어 변화에 따른 과제는 크게 입학자원의 범위 확장, 내실 있는 교육의 제공, 역량 갖춘 인재의 배출, 그리고 교육적 과제 이행을 위한 행·재정적 기반 등이 있다. 이에 근거하여 성인학습자들에게 대학문호를 개방하는 것부터 시작하여 구성원 모두가 내실 있는 교육을 위해서는 교육패러다임 변화에 대한 이해가 필요하다. 또한 이를 이행하기 위한 행·재정적 기반과 관련하여 대학의 교육력을 강화하기 위해서 다양한 범주와 요인을 고려하면서 변화의 노력을 꾀할 필요가 있다.

        유아교육에 대한 신문의 보도태도 분석

        The purpose of this research is to analyze article which are social concerns to early childhood education from six domestic major newspapers such as the Kyung hyang, Donga, Sekye, Chosun, Hankook, and Hangyorae from 1st, January., 2004 to 25th, January., 2005. In the education section of each newspaper, only about 10% were related to early childhood education. In each newspaper there is an education section, a media section, a policy section, an operation section, an environment section and an international section. Esepcially, Kyunghyangd, Donga, Chosun, Hankook deal with the education and the media more seriously than the rest of sections. The other two major newspapers Sekye and Hankyoreh deal with education and policy. In the policy section, most of the articles are related to general principles of early childhood education policies and the support of educational expenses. In the operation part, there are three major article such as nursery facilities, foreigner kindergartens and the improvement of facilities. In the financial section, raising the kindergarten budget and ensuring educational budget are dealt with. In the environment section, environmental development and disease are important matters. Introduced in the international section were eleven countries‘ educational systems and contents. The media section primarily introduced private educational study books and book reviews. The new early childhood education law one year ago as well as early childhood education in general had became very interesting topics, but there were no significant concern about the core of educational operations such as the system and the policy, operational management, human resource management, the inacial operation and the development curriculum. 본 연구는 2004년 1월 1일부터 2005년 1월 25일까지 국내 6개 신문(경향신문, 동아일보, 세계일보, 조선일보, 한국일보, 한겨레신문)에 나타난 유아교육 관련기사를 분석하여 유아교육에 대한 사회적 관심과 경향을 살펴보는 것이다. 각 신문사별 교육 관계기사 대비 유아교육기사의 비율은 10%안팎이었다. 영역별로 기사건수는 교육영역, 매체영역, 정책영역, 운영영역, 환경영역, 해외영역 순으로 나타났다. 경향신문, 동아일보, 조선일보, 한국일보는 교육영역과 매체영역의 기사를 가장 많이 실었으며, 세계일보와 한겨레신문은 교육영역과 정책영역의 기사를 많이 실었다. 유아교육법이 개정된 후 1년이 지났고 유아교육에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있지만 교육운영의 핵심인 제도와 정책, 운영관리, 인사관리, 재정운영, 교육과정운영 등에는 큰 관심을 보여주지 않았다.

        의과대학 학생인턴제의 운영 일례 연구

        Recently, the student internship has been introduced in medical schools as a way of preparing students with training experience and medical knowledge by performing clinical practice. This study discusses student internship management and ways to operate the internship effectively. Catholic University of Daegu School of Medicine has set up a 6-week internship program for fourth-year undergraduate students. In most of the sections, students have shown their satisfaction, particularly when they have received appropriate feedback and attention from their professors. The students found that performing the evaluation and treatment of patients and individual chart recording were informative and helpful. However, they felt a lack of basic knowledge and clinical skills and had difficulty in understanding their roles and in time management. The success of an internship depends on the passion and interest that professors show for their students along with active support from the other faculty and thoughtful consideration of patients and all their friends and family members. In addition, with growing awareness of the need for the student internship, it is necessary that the school executive provide financial and administrative support to the faculty and staff, clarify roles and the work needed to perform the tasks, ensure substantiality of the individual program with professors or departments, provide enough preliminary courses, and monitor outcomes and reflection.

        전공의 선발고사에서 객관구조화진료시험 도입사례

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the development and implementation of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination(OSCE) for the residency applicant examination at Daegu- Catholic Hospital. Methods: Fifty-four Daegu-Catholic residency applicants were evaluated by written examination, internship scores, and OSCE. The correlation between written examination scores, internship scores, and OSCE scores was assessed. Results: The correlation between OSCE and internship scores showed a tendency to be more significant than that between the written test and internship scores, but OSCE-internship correlation coefficients and written test and internship correlation coefficients was not statistically significant. The distribution of OSCE and internship scores on a graph corroborated this relationship between the two variables. Conclusion: The OSCE presents more objective criteria for residency application tests.
