        Fermented ginseng, GBCK25, ameliorates steatosis and inflammation in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis model

        Background: Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is one of the chronic inflammatory liver diseases and a leading cause of advanced liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. The main purpose of this study was to clarify the effects of GBCK25 fermented by Saccharomyces servazzii GB-07 and pectinase, on NASH severity in mice. Methods: Six-wk-old male mice were fed either a normal diet (ND) or a Western diet (WD) for 12 wks to induce NASH. Each group was orally administered with vehicle or GBCK25 once daily at a dose of 10 mg/ kg, 20 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, or 400 mg/kg during that time. The effects of GBCK25 on cellular damage and inflammation were determined by in vitro experiments. Results: Histopathologic analysis and hepatic/serum biochemical levels revealed that WD-fed mice showed severe steatosis and liver injury compared to ND-fed mice. Such lesions were significantly decreased in the livers of WD-fed mice with GBCK25 administration. Consistently, mRNA expression levels of NASH-related inflammatory-, fibrogenic-, and lipid metabolism-related genes were decreased in the livers of WD-fed mice administered with GBCK25 compared to WD-fed mice. Western blot analysis revealed decreased protein levels of cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) with concomitantly reduced activation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) in the livers of WD-fed mice administered with GBCK25. Also, decreased cellular damage and inflammation were observed in alpha mouse liver 12 (AML12) cells and RAW264.7 cells, respectively. Conclusion: Administration of GBCK25 ameliorates NASH severity through the modulation of CYP2E1 and its associated JNK-mediated cellular damage. GBCK25 could be a potentially effective prophylactic strategy to prevent metabolic diseases including NASH.

        온라인 퀴즈를 통한 상품 추천과 기존 상품 추천 유형 간의 사용자 경험 비교 연구 - MZ세대 사용자를 중심으로 -

        This study was conducted to help select effective recommendation types by and analyzing existing recommendation types (hybrid filtering recommendation, bestseller recommendation) and the online quizzes that attract the MZ generation. As for the research method, three prototypes of recommendation types (online quiz recommendation, hybrid filtering recommendation, best-seller recommendation) were presented and an interview was conducted to discuss their experiences. The results showed that there was a significant difference in information, reliability, interaction, disturbance and privacy concerns(p<.001) between online quiz recommendation and existing product recommendation types. The online quiz recommendation had the lowest information and reliability, and the highest disturbance. This was because the use of information provided did not help a great deal when compared to how cumbersome the process was. In addition, the online quiz recommendation type scored higher in interactivity and lower in privacy concerns. This is due to the fact that online the quizzes recommendations are provided to the user based on the simple data provided by the user, therefore resulting in a minimally intrusive experience and less of a privacy concern. Through such results, it could be identified that recommendations are necessary to require a basis and process for recommending products to users. 본 연구는 MZ세대에게 주목되는 온라인 퀴즈를 통한 상품 추천이 사용자 경험에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 기존 추천 유형(하이브리드 필터링 추천, 베스트셀러 추천)과 MZ세대를 중심으로 비교 분석하였으며 그를 통해효과적인 브랜드 상품 추천 방법을 제안한다. 연구 방법은 추천 유형(온라인 퀴즈 추천, 하이브리드 필터링 추천, 베스트셀러 추천) 3가지의 프로토타입을 제시하여 설문조사를 실시했고, 이후 인터뷰 지원자를 선출하여 비대면과대면을 병행하여 인터뷰를 진행한 뒤, 각 추천 유형을 비교하였다. 연구 결과, 온라인 퀴즈 추천과 기존 상품 추천유형(하이브리드 필터링 추천, 베스트셀러 추천)은 정보성, 신뢰성, 상호작용성, 방해성, 프라이버시 염려에 모두유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.001). 온라인 퀴즈 추천은 기존 상품 추천 유형(하이브리드 필터링 추천, 베스트셀러 추천)보다 정보성, 신뢰성이 가장 낮았고, 방해성은 가장 높았다. 이는 번거로운 과정에 비해 정보의 역할이 크게 도움이 되지 못했기 때문이었다. 그러나 온라인 퀴즈 추천은 상호작용성이 높게 나타났으며, 개인화 추천임에도 불구하고 프라이버시 염려가 낮았는데, 이는 온라인 퀴즈 추천이 자동으로 나타난 개인의 세심한 정보가 아니라 직접선택한 유형화된 정보이기 때문이었다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 온라인 퀴즈 추천을 포함한 상품 추천 유형이 사용자에게 추천으로써 영향력이 커지기 위해서는 사용자에게 상품을 추천하는 근거와 과정이 요구되는 것으로 나타났다.

        중·고등학생의 인식론적 신념과 교실 대화 참여 및 경험의 상호적 관계

        This study focused on epistemological beliefs, which is a system of beliefs about the nature of knowledge and process of knowing that learners participating in classroom communication have. The purpose of this study is to prove the hypothesis that learners' epistemic beliefs influence classroom communication participation and that their experience of classroom communication, in turn, affects their reformation of epistemological beliefs. This study quantitatively analyzed the relationship between epistemological beliefs, participation in classroom communication, and experience of 287 middle and high school students using survey research methods. The results of the research can be presented in three points. First, the belief that experts are the sources of knowledge negatively affects students' participation in small group dialogues. Second, students with more experience in group activities have more sophisticated beliefs in knowledge source than students without experience. Third, epistemological beliefs of high school students are simpler than those of middle school ones in terms of knowledge source and learning ability. Therefore, it will be important to provide a rich experience of meaningful small group conversations for high school students, as well as broaden their perspectives and expand their thinking about a specific knowledge by asking open questions in class. This study is meaningful in that it expands current knowledge on speech communication education by showing the importance of learner's belief in the process of acquiring knowledge in classroom communication. 본 연구는 교실 대화에 참여하는 학습자들이 지식의 본질과 앎의 과정 대해 가지는 믿음의 체계인 인식론적 신념에 대한 관심을 바탕으로, 학습자의 인식론적 신념이 교실 대화 참여에 영향을 주며, 학습자의 교실 대화 참여의 경험은 다시 그들의 인식론적 신념의 형성에 영향을 줄 것이라는 가설을 입증하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 조사연구방법을 사용하여, 287명의 중·고등학생을 대상으로 인식론적 신념과 교실 대화 참여 및 경험 간의 관계를 양적으로 분석하였다. 핵심 연구 결과는 다음의 세 가지로 제시할 수 있다. 첫째, 인식론적 신념 중에서 앎의 원천이 전문가에게 있다는 믿음은 학생들의 소집단 대화 참여에 부정적인 영향을 준다는 점, 둘째, 교사가 수업 중 열린 질문을 많이 한다고 응답한 학생들이 닫힌 질문을 많이 한다고 응답한 학생들보다, 모둠활동의 경험이 많은 학생이 그렇지 않은 학생보다 앎의 원천에 있어 세련된 신념을 가지고 있다는 점, 셋째, 중학생보다 고등학생의 인식론적 신념이 앎의 원천과 학습의 능력 측면에서 소박한 수준을 보였다는 점이다. 이는 학생들이 고등학교에 진학함과 함께 입시 중심의 지식 전달형, 시험 대비형 수업에 많이 노출되기 때문에 지식은 전문가에 의해 형성되는 것이며, 학생들의 역할은 교사나 교과서를 통해 제공된 지식을 정확하게 이해하는 것이라는 신념을 갖게 되었던 것이라고 해석할 수 있다. 따라서 고등학생에게 의미 있는 소집단 대화의 경험을 풍부하게 제공하는 것과 교사가 수업 중 열린 질문을 통해 주어진 지식에 대한 학생의 관점을 넓히고 사고를 확장시켜 주는 것이 중요할 것이다. 본 연구는 교실 대화에 참여하는 학습자들이 지식과 앎의 과정에 대해 가지고 있는 믿음의 중요성을 실증적으로 보여줌으로써, 화법 교육 연구의 내용을 확장했다는 것에 의의가 있다.

        아버지-자녀관계가 대학생의 자기효능감과 사회성에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between father-child and self-efficacy and the sociality of university students who are late and to find ways to promote future support for university students and their father's relationship. For this study, a total of 208 university students nationwide were surveyed. Correlation analysis was conducted to find out the relationship between college student and father, self-efficacy, and sociality, and multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the effect of father-child relations on self-efficacy and sociality of the college student. The main findings of this study are as follows. First, as a result of examining the relationship between father-child relationship, self-efficacy and sociality of college student children, the father-child relationship showed a positive correlation with the social performance of college students. Second, the father-child relationship influenced the self-efficacy of college students. Third, the father-child relationship influenced the sociality of college students. The limitations of this study and suggestions for follow-up studies were suggested.

        UV 광풍화에 의한 미세플라스틱 기원 유기물 용출과 형광 특성: 자연유래 유기성 입자와의 비교

        Numerous studies have investigated the occurrence and fate of microplastics in the environment; however, only limited effort has been devoted to exploring the characteristics of dissolved organic matter (DOM) leached from microplastics. In microplastic (MP)-contaminated environment, MPs are typically mixed with naturally-occurring particles, which interferes with their detection in the environment. Thus, it is necessary to distinguish between the DOM leached from MPs and those leached from natural particles and also to characterize their properties. This study investigated DOM leaching behavior from MPs (polystyrene: PS, polyvinylchloride: PVC) and natural particulates (forest soil: FS, litter leaves: LL) under light, which is considered one of the main weathering processes that affect MPs in the environment. The leached DOM concentrations and fluorescence characteristics were compared under dark versus light conditions. Regardless of the origins, UV light promoted DOM release from all the particulates. More DOM was released from natural particles than from MPs under both conditions. However, the effect of promoting DOM release by UV was more pronounced for MPs than for natural particles. It was observed from fluorescence spectra that the intensity of the humic-like region was substantially reduced when MP-derived DOM was exposed to UV light, whereas the change of intensity was very little for natural particles. Under light conditions, the ratio of protein-like to humic-like fluorescence of MP-derived DOM was higher than that of DOM from natural particles. This study implies that a substantial amount of DOM could be leached from MPs even in MP-polluted environment under UV irradiation.         코로나 19 이후 Z세대의 특성에 따른 라이프스타일 변화 연구

        코로나19 이후 비대면 사회로 급격한 전환이 일어나며 비대면 서비스의 수요가 증가함에 따라 Z세대의 라이프스타일 변화가 다수 관찰되었다. Z세대는 사회초년생과 학생 비율이 높은 1995년생부터 2004년생 사이를 일컫는다. 이에 본 연구는 Z세대 중 뚜렷한 변화 양상을 보이는 1인 가구를 대상으로 Z세대의 라이프스타일 변화에 주목해 에스노그라피(Ethnography) 연구 방법론을 이용하여 연구를 진행했다. 이를 통하여 발견한 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, Z세대는 한정된 자원으로 인해 일상적으로 가성비를 중시했지만, 선호하는 가치에는 과감히 투자했다. 둘째, Z세대는 거주 환경에서 공간 부족으로 인한 이슈로 좁은 공간을 효율적으로 활용하고자했다. 이를 위해 작은 규모나 다용도로 활용 가능한 제품에 대한 니즈가 있었다. 셋째, Z세대는 코로나19 이후 사회적 거리두기가 지속되면서 집에서 머무는 시간이 증가하였고, 그로 인해 기존에 외부에서 주로 해결했던 카페 문화나 외식 활동이 ‘홈 카페’, ‘홈 바’와 같은 모습으로 주거 환경으로 들어오게 되었다. 이 때, 집안에서의 활동을 SNS에 공유하며 새로운 문화를 확산시켰다. 이를 바탕으로 Z세대를 위한 디자인 기회 영역으로 취향별 맞춤 체험 서비스, 인테리어 요소로 활용 가능한 소규모의 다용도 제품 디자인, 소량 포장 음료 구독 서비스를 제안했다. 본 연구의 의의는 현재 코로나 시대의 현장감 있는 연구를 토대로 Z 세대를 위한 새로운 서비스의 개발과 적용에 기반이 되는 것에 있다. After COVID-19, as the rapid transition to a non-face-to-face society occurred and the demand for non-face-to-face services increased, many changes related to the diet of Generation Z were observed. Generation Z refers to those born between 1995 and 2004, which account for a large proportion of newcomers to society and students. Therefore, this study focused on the dietary changes of Generation Z for single-person households with distinct changes among Generation Z, and conducted a study using the ethnography research methodology. The contents discovered through this are as follows. First, Generation Z generally valued cost-effectiveness due to limited resources, but boldly invested in preferred values. Second, Generation Z tried to efficiently utilize limited space as an issue due to lack of space in the residential environment. To this end, they had needs for products that could be used on a small scale or for multiple purposes. Third, Generation Z's stay at home increased as social distancing continued after COVID-19, and as a result, cafe culture and dining out activities, which had been mainly resolved from outside, entered the residential environment in the form of "home cafe" and "home bar." And it spread a new culture by sharing activities at home on SNS. Based on this, as a design opportunity area for Generation Z, a customized experience service for each taste, a small-scale multi-purpose product design that can be used as an interior element, and a drink subscription service for a small amount of packaging were proposed. The significance of this study is that it is based on the development and application of new services for the Generation Z based on realistic research in the current COVID-19 era.
