        팔레스타인의 (마쩨봇) - 용도와 기원

        The Hebrew word 'masseboth' ( ) is conventionally translated as 'standing stones,' 'sacred pillars' in various English versions of the Bible. In both of Korean Revised Version and New Korean Revised Version, however, the same word has a variety of meanings according to the context; they include 'tombstones,' 'monuments,' 'stone pillars,' 'idols,' 'wooden images' or 'stone images.' These translations of the word 'masseboth' are in fact an outcome of supposing its functions and purposes on the basis of the related biblical verses. Archaeologists conventionally have applied the same Hebrew word to a group of mysterious standing stones or pillars, which have been found at many sites in Israel. Some scholars have tried not only to interpret them as 'masseboth' but also to suppose their functions on the basis of biblical or extra-biblical sources. The present study questions the validity of such an approach, and emphasizes that they should be interpreted first on the basis of their archaeological contexts without any biblical preconceptions. It points out that the archaeological 'masseboth' are represented by three types: the undressed or roughly-dressed standing stone, the well-dressed iconic stele, and the well-dressed aniconic stele. These two well-dressed types seem to have originated in the urban culture of the Near East, while the undressed type probably find its origin in the desert area such as Sinai and Negev. Given the fact that they mostly come from a temple-related or cult-related context, their cultic functions can be assumed, although it is difficult to clarify what kind of cult they served for. There is no doubt that most of the biblical 'masseboth' have also certain religious meanings no matter what their functions are. Standing stones have a long history of thousands of years in Palestine. It is noteworthy that the number of occurrence of the undressed standing stones sharply increases during the Iron Age. This phenomenon may have been associated with the migration of the Israelites to Palestine and with their eventual settlement. 본 연구는 히브리 '마쩨봇'의 용도와 기원을 연구하는 논문이다. 본 연구에서는 20개의 주요 유적지에서 발견된 마쩨봇을 분석하였다. 고고학적 전후관계를 분석한 결과 이들은 대부분 신전 또는 제의 장소와의 관련 하에서 발견되었음을 밝혔다. 성서의 "마쩨봇" 역시 다양한 종교적인 의미를 가졌으며, 이스라엘 백성들의 가나안 이주 및 정착 드불어 시작되었다.

        Reviewing the trends of English education in Korea tells us that the area of listening and speaking skills is allotted a smaller part of time and is taught later than the reading or writing areas. In this respect I suggest a systematic teaching method of stress, intonation and rhythm because it is very directly connected to the improvement of Korean student's command of English. I propose 10 ordered steps for teaching beginning learners and 6 orderd steps for intermediate/advanced learners, which are especially worthy of listening comprehension. Including the use of British and American songs, the use of Jazz Chants and so forth, we must improve this teaching method continually in order for this area to be integrated into the whole English teaching program.

        Our accounting rule for R & D costs requires selective capitalization, which should defer R & D costs that certain conditions as assets. In other words, management can capitalize ar expense R & D costs as their own judgment. Through the literature studies, therefore, this study tries to examine and analyze the choice of accounting methods about R & D costs in terms of agency theory which explains contracting costs and political costs in financial accounting. Further, this study will throw an insight on economic conquences that management's arbitary choice of accounting methods have an effect upon interests. For this objectives of study, theoritical and practical accounting methods for R & D are examined. Through an analytical review of works on the incentives and the economic consequences of accounting for R & D costs in U. S. A and Korea, this study suggests some insights about our standards and the future study.

        Rhodococcus sp. CP01에 의한 페놀과 6가 크롬이온의 동시 제거

        페놀을 유일한 탄소 및 에너지원으로 이용할 수 있는 Rhodococcus sp. CP01을 침출수로부터 분리하고 회분식 및 연속배양 체제에서 크롬(VI)을 동시에 환원시키는 능력을 추정하였다. 크롬(VI) 환원의 최적 pH 7.0과 페놀 농도 1,000 mg/L에서 최소배지에 주어진 0.25 mM의 크롬(VI)은 CP01 균주에 의해 60시간만에 완전히 환원되었으며, 이때 크롬의 환원속도는 4.17 $\mu$M/hr, 페놀의 분해속도는 38.4 mg.$L^{-1}$.$hr^{-1}$로 측정되었다. 수리학적 체류시간을 100hr으로 유지한 호기성 연속배양 체제에서 크롬(VI)의 농도를 0.0625, 0.125, 그리고 0.25 mM로, 페놀 농도를 1,000~4,000 mg/L까지 변화시키면서 46인간 운전한 결과, 크롬(VI) 0.125 mM과 페놀 3,000 mg/L일 때 유사 steady state에 이르렀으며 이때 크롬의 환원율은 거의 100%로 일정하게 유지되었다. 이 구간에서 계산된 specific reduction rate는 0.34 mg Cr(VI).g $protein^{-1}$.$hr^{-1}$로서 glucose를 생장기질로 이용한 기존의 연구 결과와 유사한 수준으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로부터 본 연구는 중금속 크롬(VI)과 방향족 화합물인 페놀을 동시에 효과적으로 제거할 수 있는 생물학적 처리 가능성을 보여 주었다. Simultaneous reduction of Cr(VI) and degradation of phenol was observed in batch and bench-scale continuous stirred tank reactors using Rhodococcus sp. CP01 isolated from leachate. The strain CP01, which was capable of utilizing phenol as a sole source of carbon and energy, completely reduced added hexavalent chromium (0.25 mM) to its trivalent form during 60 hr batch assay under optimal conditions (pH 7.0 and 1,000 mg/L of phenol concentration). The rates of Cr(VI) reduction and phenol degradation were estimated as 4.17 $\mu$M Cr(VI) and 38.4 mg phenol.$L^{-1}{\cdot}hr^{-1}$, respectively. The continuous culture experiment was conducted for 46 days using synthetic feed containing different levels of chromate (0.0625 to 0.25 mM) and phenol(1,000 to 4,000 mg/L). With a hydraulic retention time of 100 hr, Cr(VI) reduction efficiency was mostly 100% for influent Cr(VI) and phenol concentrations of 0.125 mM and 3,000 mg/L, respectively. During quasi-steady-state operation, specific rate of Cr(VI) reduction was calculated as 0.34 mg Cr(VI).g $protein^{-1}{\cdot}hr^{-1}$ which was comparable to reported values obtained by using glucose as growth substrate. The results suggest the potential application of biological treatment for detoxification of wastewater contaminated simultaneously with Cr(VI) and pheonol.

        EMG 신호에서의 비례제어신호 추정에 관한 연구

        The EMG signal can be considered as a signal source that expresses the intention of man because it is a electrical signal generated when the man contracts muscles. For proportional control of prostheses, the control signal proportional to the mousle contraction level must be estimated. Typically a foul-wave rectifier and low-pass filter are used to estimate the proportional control signal from the EMG signal. In this paper, it is proposed to use a logarithmic transformation and a linear minimum mean square error estimator. A logarithmic transformation maps the myoelectric signal into an additive control signal-plus-noise domain and the Kalman filter is used to estimate the control signal as a linear minimum mean square error estimator. The performance of this estimator is verified by the computer simulation and the estimator is applied to the EMG obtained from the biceps brachii muscle of normal subjects.
