The combination of symptomatic hypopharyngeal webs and iron-deficiency anemia in middle-aged women constitutes Plummer-Vinson syndrome. It is uncommon but important syndrome because of inceased risk of squamous cell carcinoma of the pharynx and esophagus. The cause of this syndrome is still not clear. A small sized web is treated by correction of anemia, but a large sized one with dysphagia is treated by breakage of web. Recently, we experienced a 41-year-old woman with Plummer-Vinson syndrome. She complained of dysphagia for 10 years. Esophagogram and endoscopic examination showed a hypopharyngeal web and peripheral blood profile was compatible with iron-deficiency anemia. Her symptom improved after endoscopic balloon dilatation of the upper esophageal web. Plummer-Vinson 증후군은 증상을 동반하는 상부식도 막양 구조와 철결핍성 빈혈이 동반되는 경우를 말하며, 대부분 중년여성에서 발생한다. 이 질환은 흔하지는 않지만 인두와 식도의 암 발생 가능성을 높일 수 있어 중요하다. 이 증후군의 원인은 아직 밝혀져 있지 않다. 작은 크기의 막양 구조는 빈혈의 교정만으로도 치료할 수 있으나, 크기가 크며 연하곤란을 동반할 경우 막양 구조의 제거가 필요하다. 최근 저자 등은 10년간의 연하곤란을 주소로 내원한 41세 여자 환자에서 내시경 및 식도조영술 검사 결과, 상부식도의 막양 구조와 함께 철결핍성 빈혈이 동반되어 있어 Plummer-Vinson 증후군으로 진단하고, 내시경적 풍선 확장술로 치료한 1예를 경험하여 이를 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

In this paper, the right arm was modelled by muscle-skeleton elements to obtain the behavior of right arm of human under impact condition, where physical and geometrical properties of human body such as Young's modulus, shear modulus, cross sectional area, length, density, moment of inertia and position were defined. Based on the numerical model of the right arm, the impact response of the right arm was obtained. By the comparison with the experimental results, the model of the right arm was verified.

In the conventional weapon system, such as gun and small arms, it Is a general trend that for maximization of its performance and enhancement of its effectiveness, the firing control system(FCS) is developed and applied with the guns and small arms in the world. The FCS of the small arms for infantry man is composed of a few of sensors for acquisition of input data of FCS, such as range measurement, position sensing of weapon, temperature, etc., computer, displayer and power pack, and also the air burst munition is developed in parallel for the maximization of FCS's effectiveness. Since the flight time setting fuze for the air burst munition is adapted for next me, the measuring device of the muzzle velocity is needed to overcome the variation of muzzle velocity due to producing procedures and the differences of the using temperatures and so maintain the burst position accuracy This paper contained the technical information on the development of the measuring device of muzzle velocity, which designed in compact & light weight configuration with reliability and accuracy.

This paper includes the comparative study between Cr plating and nitriding process with an aim at improving corrosion, wear and maintainability for KNR(Korean Next Generation Rifle) 5.5mm barrel. The endurance test was conducted to compare the performance of standard barrel, Cr plating barrel and nitriding barrel. Main activities are described as follows; optimal Cr plating and nitriding process set-up for KNR 5.56mm barrel; durability test of each barrel(20,000 rounds); salt water immersion test; dispersion, initial velocity, inner diameter data acquisition. According to the results of this firing test, Cr plating barrel is superior to standard barrel and nitriding barrel in view of corrosion, wear and maintainability.

미래병사체계(이하 개인전투체계)란 화기, 피복 및 휴대품에 이르기까지 혁신적인 첨단기술을 적용하여 소부대 전투원이 네트워크 중심전(NCW) 작전 환경하에서 Sensor to Shooter 기능을 수행할 수 있도록 병사의 능력을 극대화하는 것이다. 특히 네트워크 중심전에서의 역할이 크게 대두되리라 예상된다. 이를 위하여 5가지 기본전략 즉 치명성, 지휘통제, 생존성, 임무지속성 및 기동성을 향상시켜 병사를 통합 시스템화하여야 한다. 이에 따른 모듈 통합형 개인전투체계의 핵심소요기술을 식별하고 연구개발 기술동향을 분석하고자 한다. Future soldier as a weapon system is connected with the real time network system. That will be more powerful than any other soldier. Future warrior system is developed for future warrior to operate optimized sensor and shooter on future combat situation taking into account Network Centric Warfare environment. So future warrior is needed to systemized considering lethality, Command & Control, survivability, sustainability and mobility. Therefore we identified the key technology of Integrated Modular Future Soldier System and analyzed the State of the Art of Integrated Modular Future soldier system by Technical Breakdown System.
