Due to the advancement of modern medicine and inprovement of the public health service, the average life expectancy has steadily increased. As a result, there is a continuous increase in the number of the popultion of old age groups. The author had observed outpatients who visited at the Department of Dermatology, Korea University Hospital from 1976 to 1980. During this period, there were 17954 outpatients visited the clinic. Among these, 352 patients were over the age of 65. Cur clinical observations on this age groups for skin diseases are compared with the young adult age groups. The results are as follows: 1. Among the 352 patients of over 65 years of age, 173 patients were male and 179 were female. 2. In the order of frequency, the most common skin disease groups in the old age groups were eczema group (36.5%), fungal infection group(17.9%), viral disease group (11.4%), urticaria, drug eruption and toxic erythema group (10.8%), pruritus group (8.0%), tumor group (2.6%), and bacterial infection group (1.1%). 3. The skin diseases which showed the highest incidence among the each skin disease groups were contact dermatitis, tinea pedis, herpes zoster, acute urticaria, generalized pruritus, and benign tumor. 4. The results of the comparison between the old age groups and the young adult age groups are as follows: The old age groups had higher incidence of herpes zoster, pruritus, seborrheic dermatitis, and xerotic eczema than the young adult age groups. Furthermore, the incidence of benign skin tumors was higher in the old age groups.
Propionibacterium acnes 細胞質 抗原에 대한 여드름환자 및 정상인의 皮內反應 比較硏究
車蒙基,愼鏞雨,金秀男 고려대학교 의과대학 1987 고려대 의대 잡지 Vol.24 No.3
The present study was carried out to investigate the relationship between the inflammatory reactions of acne lesions and the Propionibacterium acnes cytoplasmic antigen. The cytoplasmic antigen was prepared from P. acnes by passing 3 times through a French Pressure Cell Pres® at 18,000 Lbs/inch² and differential centrifugations. The P. acnes cytoplasmic antigens of 3 different protein concentrations, namely 1.0ug protein/㎖, 0.1ug protein/㎖ and 0.01ug protein/ml were injected intradermally on 77 acne patients and 38 healthy persons without acne lesions. The size of erythema was read 30 minutes later and the size of induration 48 hours later. The data were analyzed in the respects to the kind, the numbers and the extents of the acne lesions. The results were summarized as follows; 1. The dermal reactions (erythema and induration responses) of acne patients group were generally larger than those of healthy control group. 2. The intensity of dermal reactions in acne patients group was significantly related to the presense of inflammatory lesions, but not to the numbers or the extents of the lesions in the acne patients. 3. For the study of dermal reactions to P. acnes cytoplasmic antigen, the proper concentration of antigen was supposed to be 0.1ug protein/㎖.
Juvenile Hyalin Fibromatosis 의 1 예
변동길,차몽기 대한피부과학회 1977 大韓皮膚科學會誌 Vol.15 No.2
Juvenile Hyalin Fibromatosis is a rare congenital disease that is characterized by large tumors, especially on the scalp, small whitish nodules, hypertrophy of the gingiva, and flexural contractures of the large joints of the limbs. A review of the world literature disclosed 13 similar cases, under various names. This case is the 14th case in the literature and the first case in Korea. A 3 year old girl had multiple large tumors and nodules on various parts of the bodis, hypertrophic gingiva, and flexural contracture of the elbow and knee joints. The histopathologic features of the tumor were characteristic of Juvenile Hyalin Fibromatosis. The tumor cells were embedded in an amorphous eosinophilic ground substance. Diagnosis was confirmed by clinical features and histopathological findings.
