        카메라 기반 객체의 위치인식을 위한 왜곡제거 및 오검출 필터링 기법

        Robotic arms have been widely utilized in various labor-intensive industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and food services, contributing to increasing productivity. In the development of industrial robotic arms, camera sensors have many advantages due to their cost-effectiveness and small sizes. However, estimating object positions is a challenging problem, and it critically affects to the robustness of object manipulation functions. This paper proposes a method for estimating the 3D positions of objects, and it is applied to a pick-and-place task. A deep learning model is utilized to detect 2D bounding boxes in the image plane, and the pinhole camera model is employed to compute the object positions. To improve the robustness of measuring the 3D positions of objects, we analyze the effect of lens distortion and introduce a false positive filtering process. Experiments were conducted on a real-world scenario for moving medicine bottles by using a camera-based manipulator. Experimental results demonstrated that the distortion removal and false positive filtering are effective to improve the position estimation precision and the manipulation success rate.

        Genetic diversity analysis of the line-breeding Hanwoo population using 11 microsatellite markers

        The genetic diversity of three Hanwoo populations was analyzed using 11 microsatellite (MS) markers for the traceability of Hanwoo beef in this study. A total of 1,099 Hanwoo cattle from two populations (694 line-breeding and 405 general Hanwoo) at the Hanwoo Research Institute (HRI) of the National Institute of Animal Science and 1,171 Korean proven bulls (KPNs) were used for the analysis. Specific alleles of four markers (ETH10, INRA23, TGLA122, and TGLA227) were identified only in the line-breeding population, although at a low allele frequency (0.001 – 0.02). The genetic distance (Nei’s D ) between line-breeding Hanwoo and KPN was the greatest (0.064), whereas general Hanwoo and KPN were relatively close genetically (0.02); the distance between line-breeding and general Hanwoo was found to be 0.054. These results are expected because the HRI has performed closed breeding via selecting its line-breeding sires without utilizing KPN since 2009. Therefore, the line-breeding Hanwoo population of HRI show different genetic diversity from the KPN population, based on the 11 MS markers. The results of this study provide basic data for securing the genetic diversity of Hanwoo cattle and utilizing line-breeding Hanwoo cattle from the HRI.

        egfl6 expression in the pharyngeal pouch is dispensable for craniofacial development

        Epidermal growth factor-like domain multiple 6 (Egfl6) is a basement membrane protein and plays an important role in hair follicle morphogenesis, angiogenesis, notochord development in vertebrates. Although egfl6 expression in the developing head was observed in zebrafish, its role for craniofacial development and the determination of the pharyngeal region expressing egfl6, have not been reported yet. Here, we report the expression patterns and function of egfl6 in craniofacial development in zebrafish. egfl6 was expressed sequentially in the developing pharyngeal pouches that are key epithelial structures governing the development of the vertebrate head. However, loss-of-function mutations in egfl6 did not cause any craniofacial defects, including the pouches as well as the thymus and facial cartilages whose development is contingent upon appropriate pouch formation. egfl6 was unlikely redundant with egfl7 expressed in a distinct pharyngeal region from that of egfl6 in craniofacial development because reduction of egfl7 with a MO in egfl6 mutants did not affect craniofacial development. In addition, we found that egfl6 carried an endogenous start loss mutation in the wild-type Tübingen strain, implying egfl6 would be a non-functional gene. Taken all together, we suggest that egfl6 expression in the pharyngeal pouches is not required for craniofacial development in zebrafish.

        한국 재래 계육 내 리놀레산과 아라키돈산 함량의 계통 간 차이 및 유전 모수 분석

        한국 재래닭은 한국 고유의 유전자원으로써 깃털 색에 따라 회갈색, 흑색, 적갈색, 백색, 황갈색의 다섯 계통으로 분류되어 있다. 이들은 일반 육계와 다른 독특한 육질과 풍미를 가지는 것으로 보고되고 있으며, 특히 닭고기의 풍미를 높이는 것으로 알려진 아라키돈산의 함량이 풍부한 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 한국 재래닭 5계통에서 아라키돈산의 함량과 그 전구 물질인 리놀레산의 함량을 조사하고자 실시하였다. 본 연구에는 총 597마리의 $F_1$ 개체를 이용하였으며, 각 개체의 다리육과 가슴육에서 아라키돈산과 리놀레산의 함량에 대하여 조사하고, 계통 간의 유의성 검정, 유전력과 유전모수 추정을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 한국 재래닭 5계통 간의 아라키돈산 함량은 유의적인 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 아라키돈산의 유전력은 다리육과 가슴육에서 모두 중도 이상의 높은 유전력(0.414~0.570)을 나타냈으며, 아라키돈산과 리놀레산의 유전 상관계수는 부의 상관관계를 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과는 한국 재래닭 5계통을 이용하여 풍미 특성을 향상시킬 수 있는 아라키돈산 형질에 대한 선발과 실용 재래닭 개량을 위한 육종계획에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. Korean native chicken (KNC) is classified as five lines (grey, black, red, white, brown) based on the plumage colors. The KNC has superior meat quality and flavor compared with those of the commercial broilers, which can be explained by the high arachidonic acid contents. The current study was conducted to investigate arachidonic acid contents in five lines of KNC and used for the development of commercial KNC. Breast and thigh muscles from 597 F1 KNC birds were used in this study and linoleic (precursor of the arachidonic acid) and arachidonic acid contents were measured by the standard protocol. In addition, heritabilities and genetic correlations were estimated. As the results, arachidonic acid contents were significantly different among the KNC lines. Also, relatively high heritabilities (0.414~0.570) for arachidonic acid contents were estimated in both breast and thigh muscles. The estimated genetic correlation was negative between linoleic and arachidonic acids. This study indicated that selection of KNC is possible for improving meat flavor in relation to the arachidonic acid. Also, this study can be used for making breeding plans for commercial KNC in the future.

        문학작품에 사용된 다언어의 효과와 재현: 케이트 쇼팽(Kate Chopin) 작 The Awakening의 프랑스어 번역을 중심으로

        The Awakening, written by Kate Chopin in 1899, deals with a woman's awakening in a male-dominated, conservative Creole society in New Orleans. The Creole people, the descendants of French and Spanish colonists, adhered to the French culture and spoke French as their mother language, in contradistinction to the standard English of Anglo-Americans. Chopin wrote The Awakening in English, but often used French to describe Creole people. French language was used as a literary device for ‘representing functions' of a community with multi-languages, ‘factual functions' reflecting the real world, and ‘evocative functions' bringing up the images of Creoles. For these functions of the source text to be reproduced in the target text, the French language is expected to be reproduced in translation as well. This study analyses the functions of French language and expressions in The Awakening, comparing the effective translation strategies to reproduce these functions from the source text to six target texts.

        영한번역 학습교재의 수동태 논의 분석

        이 연구는 지난 20년간 출간된 영한번역 학습교재 8종의 수동태 번역에 관한 논의를 ‘설명’, ‘예문’, ‘번역전략’ 면에서 분석하였다. ‘설명’ 항목에서는 ‘영어 수동태의 특징’과 ‘영한 수동문의 빈도차이’를 주로 다루었다. ‘예문’ 면에서는 단형과 장형 수동문을 제시하면서 단문과 단락을 함께 제시하는 경향이 강했다. ‘번역전략’ 면에서는 다양한 세부 전략이 존재하지만 대부분 수동문을 능동문으로 바꾸는 전략을 기본 원칙으로 제시하였다. 그러나 일부 교재는 피행위자의 비의도성과 감정이입을 드러내기 위하여 수동형 번역이 효과적이라는 새로운 관점의 전략을 제시하기도 하였다. 본고의 논의가 향후 교육기관의 번역 수업 설계 및 효율적이고 균형잡힌 새로운 번역 학습교재 개발에 도움이 되길 기대한다. This paper analyses eight English-Korean translator training textbooks published over the past 20 years, focusing on their discussions about translating English passives into Korean, in terms of ‘explanation’, ‘examples’, and ‘translation strategies.’ Most of the textbooks devote a great deal of effort to explain the characteristics of English passives and voice switches in the translation process. They provide both short and long passives in the unit of a single sentence and paragraph(s). The basic principle of their various strategies is that English passives should be changed to Korean actives, although some of them suggest that Korean passives can be an effective tool for revealing unintentionality and empathy. These findings provide a useful foundation to design academic translation courses and develop efficient new translator training textbooks in the future.

        Bacteria can be beneficial or harmful to humans depending on the species. Therefore, to prevent damages caused by biological attack, fast and accurate determination and identification of bacteria should be performed. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)is a powerful technique to detect biological reagent because it provides rapid and ultrasensitive detection with a large amount of fingerprint information for the identification of biological materials. In this study, the modified SERS substrate with silver or gold nanoparticles adsorbed onto glass is a tool that can accurately distinguish bacteria from small amounts without damage of the bacteria. Details on analysis of bacteria based on SERS will be discussed.

        문학작품의 개인방언 번역 전략 연구 ―『피그말리온』을 중심으로

        This paper explores English-Korean translation strategies on idiolect in literary texts, with primary focus on Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion. Cockney, which the main character Liza uses, is a working-class dialect of Londoners. But her cockney is more akin to an idiolect rather than a social dialect. When Liza speaks in cockney accent in the text, her language arouses a unique image of her. Her use of tagging, repetition of the certain phrases, and exclamations forms her idiolect, which exposes her weakness, vulnerability and insecurity in the hierarchical society. Furthermore, her cockney changes to a posh accent dramatically in the middle of the text, and this change gives the reader great pleasure, which plays an essential role in the drama’s development. Therefore, the cockney she makes use of has to be reproduced to the target language from an idiolectal point of view. This paper suggests that the most important part of idiolect translation is consistency of the translated dialog to recreate Liza’s character. Whether Liza’s cockney is translated into a geographical, or social dialect of the target language is irrelevant in developing an effective idiolect translation strategy.
