        Comparative Economic Analysis on SOx Scrubber Operation for ECA Sailing Vessel

        The IMO (International Maritime Organization) has mandated the restriction of SOx emissions to 0.5% for all international sailing vessels since January 2020. And, a number of countries have designated emission control areas for stricter environmental regulations. Three representative methods have been suggested to cope with these regulations; using low-sulphur oil, installing a scrubber, or using LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) as fuel. In this paper, economic analysis was performed by comparing the method of installing a scrubber with the method of using low-sulphur oil without installing additional equipment. We suggested plausible layouts and compared the pros and cons of different scrubber types for retrofitting. We selected an international sailing ship as the target vessel and estimated payback time and benefits based on navigation route, fuel consumption, and installation and operation costs. Two case of oil prices were analyzed considering the uncertainty of fuel oil price fluctuation. We found that the expected payback time of investment varies from 1 year to 3.5 years depending on the operation ratio of emission control areas and the fuel oil price change.

        A Study on Park Lighting Using the Expressive Characteristics of Natural Light

        (Background and Purpose) With the rapid development of science and technology, the role and function of light have gradually changed and expanded. In the midst of the changes, city people have come to demand quality lighting associated with natural light in a park, and have come to pursue park lighting that heals and revitalizes tired city life. However, the understanding of the expressive characteristics of natural light is still insufficient, and there are no studies on the use of night lighting related to it. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to specifically propose an application that can secure citizens' emotional stability and a sense of healing, and activate the value of night lighting in the park by directing the night lighting associated with the expressive characteristics of natural light. (Method) It draws the expressive characteristics of natural light by establishing the concept of the value structure by dividing the elements of space into natural and artificial elements through theoretical review on the expressive characteristics of natural light, and by examining the connectivity between park elements and Japanese architect Tadao Ando's philosophical thinking that reflects the modeling of water and light that natural elements have. Taking Nam-san Park in Seoul as an example, it intends to suggest a specific direction for using natural light in various visual modeling. (Results) It has been confirmed that landscape park elements are divided into water, green space, roads, and facilities, which are related to non-materiality and temporality according to light brightness, color temperature, and shadows of nature. It appears as a healing characteristic and an experiential characteristic through the interaction between humans and nature, which is an action factor. In the end, it was confirmed that the expressive characteristics of natural light were developed into human behavior affordance and symbolism by interlocking with non-materiality such as surface, reflection, projection, and distortion and temporality according to the seasons of nature. (Conclusions) In the city park at night, the environment is changed differently depending on the complete utilization of the expressive characteristics of natural light in the space. In particular, it was confirmed that the physical property change of light among the expressive characteristics of it, was expressed as biodynamic characteristic, healing characteristic, and experiential characteristic that are deeply related to the emotional state of citizens, which helps their emotional change, secure emotional stability. It was confirmed that it helps to recreate the existing luminous environment of the park as an experiential space that can bring emotional serenity and vitality away from a more monolithic perspective. It is hoped that various follow-up studies such as a study on the criteria for lighting environment design, will proceed by building a qualitative luminous environment utilizing the expressive characteristics of natural light through this study.

        선박에서의 황산화물 배출 규제와 입법방향에 관한 연구

        2020년 1월 1일 이후부터 국제항해에 종사하는 모든 선박들은 황 함유량 연료유0.5%m/m 이하의 연료유를 의무적으로 사용하여야 한다. 0.5%m/m의 황 함유량을만족시킬 수 있는 연료유는 기존의 선박 연료유 C중유로는 해결이 되지 않으며, 고가의 A중유인 MGO(Marine Gas Oil)를 사용하여야 한다. 만일 C중유를 사용하면서황 함유량 규제를 만족하기 위해서는 국제 및 국내 규정에 적합한 “배기가스 세정장치(Exhaust Gas Cleaning System, EGCS)”을 선박에 설치하여 운용하여야 한다. 저유황유의 의무 사용과 EGCS의 대체 사용에 관한 법은 이미 “국제해양오염방지협약(International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, MARPOL)” 부속서 6장에 반영되어 있다. EGCS의 설치와 관련한 지침은 가장 최근 2015년 5월에 개최된 “국제해사기구(International Maritime Organization, IMO)”의 “해양환경보호위원회(Marine Environment Protection Committee, MEPC)” 제68차 회의에서 개정되었으며, 국제항해 종사 선박중에서 현 지침에 따라 EGCS를 설치하여야 하고, 이를 만족하는 경우 국제대기오염방지증서(International Air Pollution Prevention, IAPP)를 발급하고 있다. 국내법은「해양환경관리법」 제44조에 명시되어 있으며, 선박의 배기가스로부터 황산화물의 배출 억제를 위한 연료유 사용 제한에 대한 내용이 MARPOL 내용과 일치되게 명시하고 있다. EGCS에 대한 상세한 설치 기준 및 적용과 관련하여 「선박에서의 오염방지에 관한 규칙」 제 30조 및 제34조 관련 별표 19~20에 명시되어 있으나, 국제기준과 일치하지 않은 부분들이 다수 있어 향후 선주 입장에서 EGCS의 설치와 관련하여 혼란이 발생할 여지가 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 EGCS의 국제법과 국내법을 면밀히 분석하여 불일치한 사항을 식별하고 향후 관련 국내법 개정을 위한 토대를 마련하고자 한다. Since January 1, 2020, all vessels engaged in international voyages shall compulsorily fuse fuel oil with a sulfur content of less than 0.5%m/m. In order to replace this, an exhaust gas cleaning system for removing sulfur oxides is to be installed and operated on the ship. International standards have already been reflected in Annex VI to the MARPOL Convention, and the guidelines for the installation of exhaust gas cleaning system have been revised at the 68th MEPC, which was held recently in May 2015. The relevant laws in Korea are specified in Article 44 of the Marine Environment Management Act and specify the restrictions on the use of fuel oil to control sulfur oxides emissions. In addition, standards for the installation of exhaust gas cleaning systems in accordance with Article 34, 19 and 20 fo the Rules for the Prevention of Pollution from ships are provided, but those that do not conform to international standards may be confusing to the user. Therefore, in this paper, the international standards and domestic standards of exhaust gas cleaning system for sulfur oxides are carefully analyzed to identify discrepancies, and the basis for future revision of the law is set forth.

        병원 종사자의 워라밸이 직무열의와 직무성과에 미치는 영향 - 부산·경남지역을 중심으로 -

        본 연구는 병원 종사자의 워라밸과 직무성과의 관계에서 직무 열의의 매개효과를 파악하고자 하였다. 부산·경남 소재의 병원 종사자를 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용한 자기기입식 설문조사를 통해 수집된 자료를 SPSS 26.0와 Process Macro 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 직무성과인 역할 내 성과와 역할 외 성과에 직무 열의가 가장 큰 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으며, 워라밸은 직무 열의를 높이는 요인으로 검정되었다. 또한, 워라밸이 직무성과에 직접적으로 정(+)의 영향을 미치기도 하였으나, 직무 열의를 매개로 간접적으로 영향을 미치기도 하였다. 특히, 워라밸과 역할 외 성과간의 관계에 있어서 직무 열의는 완전 매개하는 것으로 검정되었다. 조직 차원에서 병원 종사자의 직무성과를 향상시키기 위해서는 직무열의를 높여야 하는데, 그 일환으로 워라밸을 중시하는 조직 문화를 구축하기 위한 노력이 필요함을 의미한다. This study sought to understand the mediating effect of job enthusiasm in relation to work-life balance and job performance of hospital workers. The data collected through a self-contained survey using structured questionnaires for employees of medical institutions in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and Process Macro programs. As a result of the analysis, job performance and non-role performance were the most influenced by passion (+), and work-life balance was evaluated as a factor that increased job enthusiasm. In addition, work-life balance directly influenced job performance, but indirectly influenced job performance as a medium. In particular, the work-life balance and the relationship between performance other than roles were fully mediated. In order to improve the job performance of hospital workers at the organizational level, it is necessary to increase job enthusiasm, which means that efforts are needed to establish an organizational culture that values work-life balance.
