In this study, we investigated the anti-oxidative effects, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activities of the extracts from broccoli to evaluate its use as a functional ingredient in cosmetics. The extracts are WE (water extract at RT), MWE (mineral water extract at RT), EE (70% ethanol extract at RT), and USEE (heat process for 12 hours at 60℃ after ultrasonification for six hours with 70% ethanol). The measurements of the total polyphenol content from broccoli extracts were highest in EE at 425.24±13.9 mg/g dry. The result of electron donating ability of EE was the highest at 10,000 ㎍/㎖ as 97.81% and increased in a concentration-dependent manner. The ferric reducing antioxidant powder (FRAP) of EE was the highest at 10,000 ㎍/㎖ as 1235.6 μM. In an antimicrobial activity test, the EE showed significant antimicrobial activity against S. epidermidis, S. aureus, E. coli, P. acnes, and P. ovale. Furthermore, broccoli extract exhibited no cytotoxicity in RAW 264.7 cells. Also anti- inflammatory activity by NO assay showed LPS-induced NO was significantly inhibited following treatment with EE of 1,000 ㎍/㎖. Therefore, the broccoli ethanol extract can be used as a resource of natural cosmetic material for functional cosmetics.
교류형 플라즈마 평판 표시장치(AC-PDP)에서 ITO 전극 구조에 따른 Xe 여기종의 시공간 밀도 분포 연구

We have measured the spatiotemporal behavior for the density of excited Xe atoms in the $1s_5$ metastable states by laser absorption spectroscopy in accordance with various shapes of ITO electrode. The maximum density of excited Xe atoms in the Is5 state in a discharge cell for fish-boned, T-shaped and squared ITO electrodes has been measured to be $3.01{\times}10^{13}\;cm^{-3}$, $2.66{\times}10^{13}\;cm^{-3}$ and $2.06{\times}10^{13}\;cm^{-3}$, respectively. Throughout this experiment, we could understand the influence of the shapes of ITO electrode of micro discharge cell on the high efficiency of AC-PDPs. 3전극 면방전형 AC-PDP에서 발광효율을 높이기 위한 방법으로 새로운 구조의 ITO전극을 제안하였다. 기존에 사용하고 있는 사각형(square), T 형태의 ITO 전극구조와 새롭게 설계한 물고기뼈 형태(fish-boned type) ITO 전극 구조의 시험패널을 제작하였다. 레이저 흡수 분광법(Laser absorption spectroscopy)을 이용하여 각 ITO 전극 구조에 따라 Xe 여기종의 밀도분포를 측정하고, 고속 ICCD(Image Intensified Charge-Coupled Diode) 카메라를 이용하여 각각의 전극에 따른 $750\;nm\;{\sim}\;900\;nm$ 파장의 방전모습을 확인하였다. 시험패널 상판의 x, f 전극에 220V의 사각펄스(square pulse)를 교대로 인가하여 방전시켰다. 사각형, T 그리고 물고기뼈 형태의 ITO 전극 구조에서 $X_e$ 여기종 밀도는 각각 $2.06{\times}10^{13}\;cm^{-3}$, $2.66{\times}10^{-3}\;cm^{-3}$와 $3.01{\times}10^{13}\;cm^{-3}$으로 물고기뼈 형태에서 가장 높게 측정되었다.

Wall wetting phenomenon in the intake port of an MPI engine was investigated with different kinds of injectors by an A/F step response test and analysis was done based on the simple wall wetting model to find out a certain correlation between wall wetting and A/F variations.<br/> It was found that (1) At fully warmed condition of 90℃ water temperature, around 40-60% of injected fuel was wall wetted, (2) At cold condition of 45℃ Water temperature, around 68-80% of injected fuel was wall wetted, and (3) A/F variations during acceleration and deceleration were infIuenced by the wall wetting area, the fuel droplet size, and the amount of wall wetting fuel.

레이싱 게임에서 3D 오브젝트들의 극적인 연출을 위하여 객체의 움직임을 효율적으로 표현해야 하는 문제점이 있다. 이를 개선하기 위하여 기존 난수만을 적용하였던 방식을 탈피하여, 인위적인 상황연출을 포함시켜 난수 방식에 의한 랜덤성을 유지하면서 극적인 레이싱 장면이 되도록 개선하였다. In the Racing game, the improvement of the motion of 3D object is necessary for a dramatic scene of 3D objects. In this paper, for the efficient dramatic scene, we applied the method of the static and random of the motion of 3D.

A fabrication technique of copper microgrooves with triangular cross-sectional profile using the laser-assisted etching is introduced. To simplify the complex setup of a conventional objective lens-based laser micromachining, a novel optical fiber-based laser-assisted etching system is proposed to manufacture metallic microgrooves. In the new laser micromachining system, the optical fiber plays a key role as a light waveguide and machining tool. The mixture of H₂SO₄ and H₂O₂ included 0.1% KSCN is chosen as the optimal etchant for manufacturing copper microgroove without background etching in the non-irradiated area. The fabrication of copper microgroove with 100~300㎛ in depth and 100~150㎛ in width is achieved with the proposed machining technique. The grooves fabricated at the optimal process condition have smooth surface and clear edge. The angle of triangular groove is measured to be in the range of 30~50 degree and the aspect ratio of grooves is about 1~2. The overall etching characteristics are investigated with respect to process parameters in this paper.
