This paper presents motion control of the precision stage composed of the piezoelectric actuator and flexible hinges. The stage shows approximately 27% overshoot when the stage was applied to 30V square wave input voltage. Also, the stage shows nonlinear response characteristics including hysteresis. This paper proposes feedback control technique to suppress the phenomenon of hysteresis and overshoot using the sliding mode control scheme with the integrator. Also, this paper suggests the method that searches important parameters of sliding mode control and observer using Genetic Algorithm. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm, experimental validations are performed.

This paper aims at calculating optimum design dimensions to minimize the weight satisfied strain and stress intensity of the frame while loading maximum weight into a mechanical press in the static condition. Analysis of the frame was carried out by using the FEM, then the optimum condition was obtained by using these data. As modeling in the finite element analysis has great impact on the reliablity of analysis results, the analyzed object was selected a 150-ton mechanical press of J Company, the part little affected to structural rigidity was simplified, the load condition was considered in the only maximum load, the boundary condition was used by giving symmetric displacement due to symmetric boundary condition, the finite element was applied a linear membrane element. An intermediate processor program applied the normal ANSYS to analyze finite elements was developed, and the design sensitivity was calculated. This program was applied to the optimum design.

The automation of textile machinery in the fabric manufacture is strongly demanded in order to improve the industrial structure related to labour-force and cost curtailment, in addition, to keep step with the various and small production system and the consumption tendency requesting a high quality fabrics. In this thesis, the technology applying the computer to an air jet loom and characteristics obtained from it are derived. To efficently apply an automized and unmanned textile machinery, an air jet loom is equipped with the let-off, take-up and weft insertion device attached a central processing unit(CPU) which can automatically operate according to a program. As a result, an air jet loom is available for the factory automation, which has advantages including productivity promotion, high quality security, energy savings, specification & variety, efficient production control, in fabric manufacturing process.

This paper presents resizing design optimization method by utilizing genetic algorithm(GA), which consists of three basic operators : reproduction, crossover and mutation. The fitness and penalty function for resizing optimization ploblem are defined, and the flowchart of the developed computer program along with the descriptions of each modules is presented. Also, modelling for flexible-body dynamic analysis is presented. The model is composed of bodies, joints, and force elements such as translational spring-damper-actuator. The design object is to determine the wall thickness for minimum weight under dynamic displacement constraint.
