Kohut과 Kernberg의 비교: 자기애와 경계선 성격을 중심으로

이 논문에서는 현대정신분석가 중 북미의 대표적인 Kohut과 Kernberg를 각자의 주요 연구대상이었던 자기애와 경계선성격을 중심으로 비교하며 정신분석 심리 상담에 주는 함의를 살피고자 한다. 이 두 사람의 연구에는 흥미로운 유사점과 차이점들이 있으며, 자기애성향이나 경계선 성향의 내담자들에 대한 임상에 중요한 이해와 적용을 제공한다. 논문의 전반부에서는 Kohut과 Kernberg의 주요 이론인 자기애와 경계선성격조직에 관한 귀인과 증상, 개입방안과 주요개념들을 각각 제시하며 비교한다. 후반부에서는 정신분석적 심리 상담에 대한 함의와 개입방안 들을 고찰하고 제안하고자 한다. In this paper, we examine the implications for psychoanalytical psychological counseling by comparing Kohut and Kernberg, two of North America's leading psychoanalysts, focusing on narcissism and borderline personality. The two studies have interesting similarities and differences, and provide important clinical understanding and application for clients with narcissistic or borderline orientation. In the first part of the paper, Kohut and Kernberg's main theories of narcissism and borderline etiology, symptoms, intervention prodedure, and main concepts are presented. In the second part, we will consider and suggest implications and interventions for psychoanalytic psychological counseling.

시기심과 자기애의 유형과 그들의 상관관계: 정신역동적 관점과 임상에의 적용

연구의 목적은 시기심과 자기애의 정신역동적 개념과 각 유형을 이해하고 유형 간의 상관관계와 역동을 명료화하며 임상적 함의를 밝히는 데 있다. 이는 국내외의 문헌연구를 통해 수행하였다. 시기심은 보통 기질적 시기심과 일회성 시기심, 혹은 악의적인 시기심과 무해한 시기심 등의 유형으로 나뉜다. 각 유형에 따른 심리적 기제나 대인관계 양상은 매우 다르다. 이런 유형적 특성은 자기애의 분류에서도 보인다. 자기애의 유형은 보통 내현적 자기애와 외현적 자기애 혹은 취약한 자기애와 과대한 자기애로 분류된다. 경험적 연구와 이론연구에서 시기심과 자기애의 전체적인 상관관계보다 그 유형 간의 상관관계가 더 흥미로우며 의미가 있음을 확인하였다. DSM에서 제시된 자기애 성격장애 증상들은 대부분 과대한 자기애에 치우쳐 있으나, 오히려 시기심은 취약한(내현적) 자기애의 두드러진 특성으로 간주할 필요가 있다. 이에 대하여임상에서도 세심한 주의와 접근이 필요하다. The aim of this study is to understand the psychodynamic concepts of narcissism and envy, their various types, and the correlations and dynamics between them, as well as to elucidate their clinical implications. This was accomplished through a review of domestic and international literature. Envy is typically categorized into types such as dispositional envy, episodic envy, or malicious envy and benign envy, each of which exhibits distinct psychological mechanisms and interpersonal relationship patterns. These typological characteristics are also evident in the classification of narcissism, which is typically divided into covert narcissism and overt narcissism, or vulnerable narcissism and grandiose narcissism. Empirical and theoretical studies have shown that the correlations between these sub-types are more interesting and meaningful than the overall correlations between narcissism and self-esteem. Although the symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder presented in the DSM are mostly biased toward grandiose narcissism, there is a need to consider envy as a prominent characteristic of vulnerable (covert) narcissism, and to exercise careful attention in clinical settings.

경계선성향 내담자의 대상 관계적 이해: 사례를 통한 심리상담적 함의

이 소고에서는 대상 관계적 이론에 기반을 둔 경계선 성격에 대한 이론과 심리상담에의 적용을 Kernberg를 중심으로 살펴본다. 또한, 경계선 성향 내담자의 사례를 제시하면서 이에 대한 이해를 돕고자 한다. 상담에서 경계선 성격장애의 명확한 진단을 강조하기보다는 경계선 성향의 내담자를 접할 때 무엇을 우선으로 하며 어떠한 태도를 견지해야 하는지에 초점을 두고 소개하였다. 본 필자의 상담 진행 과정에서 Kernberg의 임상적 접근이 어떻게 적용되고 있는지에 대한 평가는 독자들의 판단에 맡긴다. This essay focuses on the theory and psychological counseling of the borderline personality based on the object relations theory, specially in the view of Kernberg. In addition, by presenting a case of a client with borderline state, I would like to help to understand this. The counseling focuses on what should be prioritized and what attitudes should be taken when encountering clients with borderline tendencies rather than emphasizing the clear diagnosis on borderline personality disorder. The evaluation of how Kernberg’s clinical approach is being applied in the course of this consultation is left to the readers’ discretion.

애착이론과 자기심리학을 통한 애도의 이해와 기독교상담적 적용

본 연구는 애착이론과 자기심리학을 통합하여 코로나19 이후 많은 이들이 겪고 있는 상실을 이해하고, 애도와 관련된 기독교상담의 적용점을 찾는 연구다. 두 이론은 초기 주요 양육자와의 관계 경험이 발달과 성격 형성에 중요하다는 공통점이 있다. 발달과정에서 자신의 과대적 욕구를 반영해주고, 이상적 대상과의 융합을 통해 완벽하고자 하는 욕구를 충족시켜 주는 적절한 자기대상 경험을 통하여 응집적 자기 형성을 중요하게 여기는 자기심리학은 자기대상의 상실 이후 자기대상의 기능을 변형적으로 내재화 하는 과정을 애도로 보았다. 대상과의 물리적 근접성을 추구하고자 하는 애착을 제1 동기로 여기는 애착이론에서는 상실의 고통을 애착추구 행동으로 이해하고, 이별이 영속적이라는 사실을 수용하여 상실한 대상과의 관계가 현실적으로 재정립되는 과정을 애도로 이해하였다. 내담자의 상실을 발달적 관점에서 이해하고, 상실을 호소하는 내담자를 상담함에 있어서 발달적 조율과 애착유형, 자기구조에서의 문제점을 탐색함이 요구된다. 기독교상담자는 변형적 내면화 과정이 일어날 수 있는 지지적이고 안아주는 환경을 제공하며, 안전기지 역할을 해줌으로써 내담자의 언어화되지 않았던 고통을 공감하고 성찰해주어, 내담자의 정신화 능력을 증진시키는 것이 필요하다. This study aims to search for the clinical implications of mourning with the integrative perspective of self psychology and attachment theory, and to apply its understandings to Christian counseling for helping those who suffer from the loss especially under the COVID-19 situation. Self psychology and attachment theory have common grounds that early relationship with caregivers is so important for infants to develop health personality, and that they are offsprings of psychoanalysis. Self psychology which emphasizes to develop cohesive self through a proper experience of mirroring selfobject and idealized selfobject, considers mourning as a process of transmuting internalization. On the other hand, attachment theory regards attachment which is a tendency of seeking physical proximity to attachment figure, as the most important human motivation. It suggests that pain of the loss is an attachment seeking behavior and mourning is the process of reorganization which accepts reality that the loss of attachment figure is eternal. With these understandings, this study suggests that counselors have to understand client’s developmental tuning, attachment types, and problems of self-structure, while counseling with the clients who have the problems of mourning. Moreover it is important for Christian counselors to provide them with supportive and holding milieu for transmuting internalization, be a secure base in order to empathize and reflect on unrealized psychological suffering, and help to develop their mentalizing ability.

기독교 상담의 관점에서 바라본 불안

In this article, we try to compare and integrate various concepts of anxiety in psychological therapy, Existential philosophy and Christian counseling. We review the main concepts of anxiety and try to tell main differences in psychodynamics and existential psychotherapy. However, we claim that the first two concepts can be reduced to Christian counseling since many implicit anxiety concepts suggested by psychological therapy and existential philosophy can be subsumed to it. Furthermore, it helps us to understand what the differences are between Christian counseling and (general) psychological therapy.

변형 · 초월과 대상관계 이론 : 기독상담적 연계와 해석적 접근

When we consider Christian counseling, the understanding of transcendence is essential. In this paper, we define Christian counseling as a liberating process for the man and God. First, we review the concepts of transcendence related with transformation and claim that these two concepts are quite intrinsically connected. Since God in Christianity is the transcendental object, this thought naturally leads to search some integration with object relation theory. Here, we include Kohut's self psychology in the realm of object relation theory. Some main concepts as transference, true-false self, transitional object and self object are considered with respect to the concept of transformation and transcendence in the view of Christian counseling.

Exponential estimates of SPDE in conuclear space

We consider a solution process of stochastic partial differential equation(SPDE) driven by S'(R^d)-valued Weiner process, where S'(R^d) is the dual of Schwartz space. We find some criteria for the exponential stability of the solution process and estimate a large deviation type for the process. We apply the Ito formula to the SPDE under the structure of nuclear space.
