Worldwide excess production facilities of various industrial products and short product cycles, and excessive marketing efforts due to fierce competition between companies is increasing. In this environment, companies quickly and at minimal cost to develop new ways to apply are working to improve competitiveness. Therefore, from the early stages of product development, design and verification through a variety of shapes prevent the loss of time and money from DMU for the purpose of research is growing. In this study, design and stress analysis of planetary gear system by DMU, and ISO6336-3:2006 compared the expression, were reviewed.

The wind turbine gearbox has been increasing the volume and size in order to produce more power. An optimal design for volume of planetary gear is important due to limited space on gearbox. The genetic algorithm is applied for the volume minimization of planetary gear which is used in field. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is studied for optimizing the volume of the planetary gear by the genetic algorithm. In result, it shows that the volume has decreased compared with the existing planetary gear.

When a product is redesigned, it is impossible to understand the background of design information not only because designers may not understand the previous design of a product thoroughly, but also because re-designers are different from previous designers. This research is aimed at developing design history system that helps designers to understand design information as well as utilizes design information of the previous design effectively. In order to do that, design information is modeled using UML. This design history system is constructed with Java based on object-oriented structure. Design history information is managed in system using ObjectStore database. Besides, version capturing concept is used to get present state information of design process so that design history can be managed flexibly in case of either design change or redesign.

The volume and size of the wind turbine gearbox has been increased with increasing transmitted power. The optimal sizing of gearbox is important due to limited space on the nacelle. The power-split type planetary gear train has been regarded as a better solution than conventional type from the point of view of the volume and weight. The purpose of this paper is to optimize the volume and weight of the gearbox by the analysis of structural characteristics and evaluation of strength of the power-split type planetary gear train.
