The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate the actual worship conditions of the Korea Baptist Church and to propose the principles for worship renewal and the specific plans for renewal worship forms of the Korea Baptist Church. The researcher kept in mind that the worship can become liturgical or non-liturgical depending on which elements of worship are being emphasized. The worship in the Korea Baptist Church is affiliated to not liturgical forms of service. It belongs in non-litergical types which engage in free preaching, praising, expressing gifts of the Holy Spirit rather than certain forms of worship or Lord's supper. In accordance with the current method of the Korea Baptist Church's form of service, the research became interested in the subject that the structure of worship, elements of worship, expression of worship and order of worship need to be supplemented as those leave untouched. In addition to compensating the liturgical nature, the researcher also studied focusing liturgical including ecclesiastical year, biblical lectionary and ways to build Lord's Supper into our church worship processes. The study on the research background come in three reasons. First, There is much less researched in progress on the worship of the Korea Baptist Church. Second, There is an awareness that the Korea Baptist Church is losing biblical attributes of community. Third, the Korea Baptist Church is not performing well in Lord's Supper which is emphasizing on the worship renewal movement. The researcher, for this dissertation's purpose, conducted a document research and a survey. He compared and analyzed the data related to this subject, carried out a survey targeting divinity students attending Korea Baptist Theological University/Seminary and pastors belonging to The Baptist Korea Convention about the environment of worship, worship and praise, worship and pray, worship and preaching, worship and offering, worship and baptism, worship and Lord' Supper, worship and friendship, worship and ecclesiastic year, plan of worship. He, on basis of the survey, analyzed and evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of the worship of the Korea Baptist Church. This dissertation is composed of four chapters, except for introduction. Chapter 2 dealt with the principal of the basic principle of worship. This is the primary basis for an attempt to analyze and refresh the worship of the Korea Baptist Church. In chapter 2, the definition of worship and the analysis of the worship of the Korea Baptist Church are included. Chapter 3 dealt with the present conditions about the worship of the Korea Baptist Church. Through the insight of Pioneer worship, the researcher analyzed the worship of early Korea Baptist Church focused on Kanggyeng Church, Gongju Church, and Chilsan Church, as they have a long history and a deep-rooted tradition. And He grasped and proposed the problems of the structure and expressions of worship based on the M. H. Lee and J. H. Lee' books written about the worship of the Korea Baptist Church. Chapter 4 dealt with contents of theology in order to resolve the issues suggested in chapter 3. These are the elements that are necessary for the worship renewal of Korea Baptist Church. And These are Christ-centered, liturgical nature, contextualization, recovery of communal character, lay theology and so on, included intergenerational corporate worship for recovery of communal character. Chapter 5 dealt with suggestions for worship renewal of the Korea Baptist Church. In these, there are establishment of the worship structure by fourfold structure, appropriate arrangement of worship elements to a well-balanced worship, plans for active participation of the congregation, plans to use the ecclesiastical year and biblical lectionary, and the new order of worship which included the above contents. There are four reasons on why he suggested through this dissertation, especially chapter 5. First, Korea Baptist Church must solve such frivolities of worships by firming up the four worship structures. Second, Korea Baptist Church must understand the elements of worship for a well balanced worship. Third, Korea Baptist Church must accommodate the ecclesiastical year and biblical letionary to a certain extent. Fourth, Korea Baptist Church must make up the worship committee for active participation of the congregation and try to be harmonious with spiritual needs of the leaders and participants of the worship. In addition, he expected the order of worship proposed by him to help Korea Baptist Church to operate the flexible worship, at least a little.
