The objective of this study was to investigate differences in mtDNA D-loop sequence between Korean native pig and other breeds. When digested with BamH I/Cla I, D-loop region was found in 1.03 kb and 1.59 kb fragments. Both fragments containing D-loop region were subcloned into plasmid vector of pBluescript II SK^+ and sequenced. After sequencing 2616 by in this study, D-loop region was 1313 by and the rest of them were genes for cytochrome b, 12S rRNA, tRNA^(Pro) tRNA^(Phe) and tRNA^(Thr). The twenty-eight tandem repeats of 10bp, CGTGCGTACA, were found within D-loop region of mtDNA in Korean native pig. The sequence variation between Korean native pig and Meishan pig was observed for only 3 nucleotides substitution and 2 nucleotides deletion. However, the sequence difference between the Korean native pig and European pig showed 16 nucleotide substitution, 1 nucleotide deletion and 1 nucleotide insertion. The highly variable region among the three breeds was located between tRNA^(Pro) gene and CSB 1.

육용종계 모계통에 있어서 부화시간에 따른 체중과 체척치에 관한 연구

본 연구는 상용종계 모계통으로 이용되고 있는 White Plymouth Rock종에서 부화시간에 따른 체중과 체척치의 차이를 구명하기 위하여 실시하였다. 종웅계 60수와 종빈계 300수를 교배하여 생산된 종란을 부화하여 발생된 초생추중 "C"계통 551수와 "D"계통 424수등 총 975수를 육성하여 조사한 성적과 부화시간을 479시간부터 3시간 간격으로 521시간까지 14회 조사하여 얻은 자료에 근거하여 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 얻은 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 부화시간별 체중 및 체척치 : 4, 6주 및 8주령 체중, 흉골장 및 정강이 길이의 평균치는 부화시간이 경과함에 따라 낮아지는 경향을 뚜렷이 볼 수 있었다. 수탉에 있어 부화시간의 효과는 대부분의 형질에 대하여 고도의 통계적인 유의성(P〈.01)을 보였고, 6주 및 8주령 흉골장은 유의차가 없었으나 부화시간이 경과함에 따라서 흉골장이 뚜렷하게 짧아지는 경향을 보였다. 암탉에 있어 부화시간의 효과는 주령별 모든 형질에 대하여 통계적 유의성이 있었고, 수탉에서와 마찬가지로 부화시간이 증가할수록 각 주령별 체중이 현저하게 작아지는 경향을 나타냈다. 2. 계통별 체중 및 체척치 : 계통별 부화시간에 따른 평균능력 중 부화시간은 "D"계통이 "C"계통보다 수탉이 7.4시간, 암탉은 7.2시간이 더 길었으며, 산육능력에서는 "C" r계통이 모든 형질에서 더 우수하였다. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of hatching time on body weights and body measurements in White Plymouth Rock selected for female lines of broiler parents stock, Thirty cockerels were mated to 300 hens and the hatching eggs produced by each hen were pedigreed for sire and dam. The total of 975 chickens were classified into 14 groups by hatching time and their body weights and body measurements were recorded every 2 weeks. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The body weight at 4,6 and 8 weeks of age, and the length of keel and shank were decreased as hatching times were delayed. Correlation coefficient between hatching tine and body weights or body measurements was negative. 2. Chickens from strain D were hatched 7.4 hours later in male and 7.2 hours in female than chickens from strain C and the growth rate of strain C was superior to that of. strain D.

육용계의 적정출하체중 결정시험

본 연구는 1982년 12월부터 1983년 1월까지 White Cornish 2계통과 White Plymouth Rock 2계통 단교잡종 960수의 사육시험성적을 기초로 하여 육계의 생체중에 대한 가격의 변화 및 사료가격의 변화에 따른 단위당 생산비의 변화를 분석하여 적정출하체중을 구명코자 실시한 것으로서 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 체중별 수익성은 현재 가격수준에서 농가소득은 66일령. 순수익은 59일령에 출하했을 때 각각 수당 244일 36원으로 가장 높았으며 소득율과 투자효율은 각각 55일령에 12.77% 59일령에 101.96%로 가장 높았고 생체 kg당 생산비는 59일령 1,931g에 출하할 때 941원으로 가장 낮았다. 2. 생체가격의 10% 상승 및 10% 하락시는 소득율과 투자효율면에서 집체가격변화와 적정출하체중과는 무관하였다. 3. 사료가격이 10% 하락시 농가소득은 76 일령속에서 수당 402원, 순수익은 69일령에서 170원으로 가장 높았고, 투자효율은 생체 kg당 생산비가 가장 적게 드는 61일령에서 108,90%로 가장 높았다. 4. 사료가격이 10% 상승했을 때의 농가소득은 58일령에서 117원으로 가장 좋았고 기득율은 53일영에서 6.86% 투자효율은 57일령에서 95.97%로 가장 높았다. 5. 생체가격변화 및 사료가격변화시 모두 생산비가 가장 적게드는 일령에서 출하할 때 투자효율이 제일 높았다. The study was carried out to investigate the optimum marketing weight of broiler to maximize income from broiler rasing. The change of broiler prices between 10% above or below from present base did not affect to net income ratio to income and investment efficiency. In the case of feed price was 10% down from present base, broiler farmer's income was the highest when marketed at 76 days of age, and net income was highest when marketed at 61 days of age. In the case of feed price was 10% rise from present base, broiler farmer's income was highest when marketed at 18 days of age and net income ratios to income and investment efficiency were highest when marketed broilers as 53 and 57 days of age.

육계의 유통에 대한 조사연구

본 연구는 우리나라의 육계 유통현황을 조사하기 위하여 서울근교, 대전근교, 광주근교 및 부산근교에 소재하고 있는 도매상 16개소, 소매상 25개소 슈퍼마켓 12개소 및 자체직매점 3개소를 대상으로 설문서를 작성하여 방문조사하였고 그 결과를 육계의 유통규격 설정을 위한 기초자료를 얻고자 실시하였다. 1. 육계의 유통 종류별 중량은 영계가 0.6-0.0kg, 삼계탕용 1.0-1.3kg, 세미브로는 1.3-1.7kg, 하이브로가 1.8-2.1kg 등으로 구분유통되고 있으나 유통과정중의 육계 종류별 명칭이 통일되어 있지 않았다. 2. 소비자 측면에서 본 육계의 종류별 기호성은 하이브로와 노계는 가정집에서 각각 47.5%, 60.0%를 소비하며, 세미브로는 음식점에서 67.7%, 가정집에서 16.7% 등으로 나타나 하이브로와 노계를 제외한 종류들은 음식점을 통한 소비성향이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 3. 도계품의 판매방법은 정확히 게량하여 판매하는 경우가 75.0%로 나타나 높은 편이지만 아직도 적당히 목칙으로 판매하는 경우가 18.8%나 되는 것으로 나타났다. 4. 도계품의 규격 설정화 문제에 대해 찬성하는 경우가 37.5% 그리고 점진적으로 규격화 하자는 의견이 50.0%로 나타났으며 부분육으로의 판매방법에 대해 서서히 하거나 적극적으로 추진하기를 원하는 경우가 66.7%를 차지하였다. This studies were carried out to obtain the information on the establishment of marketing of broilers. The data for these studies were collected from 16 whole sale traders, 25 retail stores, 12 supermarkets and 3 direct-sales stall located at the suburbs of Seoul, Daejon, Gwangju and Busan. 1. Chickens were generally sold and named for a Spring chicken(0.6-0.9kg), a Boiled chicken of ginseng (1.0-l.3kg), a Semi-bro (1.3-l.7kg) or High-bro(1.8-2.1kg) by their body weight, However, those names were not uniform. 2. Since 47.5% of High-bro chickens, 60.0% of Spring chickens and 16.7% of Semibro chickens were used for domestic use and 66.7% of Semi-bro chickens was taken by butchers, it seemed that most chickens except Highbro and Spring chicken were distributed via butchers. 3. In most cases(75%) when the carcasses were sold a exact measurement was taken, but in some cases(18.8%) eye measurement was still used. 4. For the standardization of carcasses, 37.5% of the answered were for that and 50% of them wanted a gradual standardization and 66.5% of the answered wanted chicks sold by parts.

백색코니쉬와 백색플리머드록 계통간 교배단계별 경제형질에 대한 잡종강세 발현율 추정

본 연구는 육계의 주요경제형질에 대한 교배단계별 잡종강세효과 및 결합능력을 추정하여 우량한 교배조합을 선발하고 이들 계통을 이용, 우수한 국산실용계를 작출하고저 White Cornish 2계통(A,B)과 White Plymouth Rock 2계통(C, D)을 이용 2원교배종 3조합 270수, 4원교배종 2조합 180수를 생산 총 810수로 1985년 10월 3일부터 동년 11월 28일까지 8주간 수행하였다. 잡종강세발현율을 보면 순종에 비해 4원교배종이 생존율에서 1.63%, 8주령체중에서는 5.47%, 8주령까지의 증체량은 5.57% 그리고 사료효율은 -5.98%의 효과를 보였다. 일반결합능력에서는 어느 계통에서나 유의성이 인정되지 않았으나 A계통의 효과가 다른 계통보다 높았고 특수결합능력은 조사형질 전체에서 고도의 유의차(P〈0.01)를 나타냈는데 특히 AB와 CD의 교배조합에서 그 효과가 높은 것으로 나타났다. This study was carried out to estimate combining abilities and heterosis in White Cornish and White Plymouth Rock. The data were obtained over an 8weeks period from 3rd Oct., 1984 to 28th Nov. 1984 at the Livestock Experiment Station. A total of 810 birds, composed of 369 pure strains, 270 two-way crosses, and 180 fourway crosses were average amount of heterosis expressed as a ratio was 1.63% for livability, 5.47% for body weight at 8 weeks, 5.57% for weight gain from day old to 8 weeks and -5.98% for feed requirement. Specific combining ability were statistically significant for all of the traits examined in this study. Although the general combining ability was not significant for any of the traits, strain A appears to be superior to other strains.
