        Spindle Speed Optimization of a Ring Spinning Machine for Better Surface Irregularity and Hairiness of Yarn and Fabric

        Producing yarn from natural fibers without creating irregularities in structure or having fibers protruding from the surface, remains the goal of spinners. This is a problem, as structural irregularities such as hairiness affect subsequent fabric manufacturing processes and the aesthetics of the final fabric. This work therefore focused on investigating the effects of varying the spindle speed of a ring spinning frame on the structure of yarn (i.e., its surface regularity and hairiness), its strength and the surface pilling of fabric made from such yarn with a view to optimizing the spindle speed. For this, yarns with counts of 20, 25, and 30 tex were produced at six different spindle speeds ranging from 11,000 to 21,000 rpm with an interval of 2,000 rpm. All other parameters were kept constant, including the draft for a particular count, the type and weight of the traveler, and the diameter of the ring. The results obtained revealed that as the spindle speed was increased to 17,000 rpm, the yarn structure became more regular and less hairy, thereby becoming stronger. Beyond 17,000 rpm, however, both the regularity and strength decreased, with the hairiness continuing to increase with increasing spindle speed. Consequently, the surface pilling of the fabric was found to be optimized when made from yarns produced at a spindle speed of 17,000 rpm.

        Image analysis method was applied to evaluate the evenness of various nonwoven fabrics. Binder-bonded nonwoven fabrics were used for this research. Images of nonwoven fabrics were scanned and stored into 256 gray scale system. At first, the effects of scanning condition on evaluating the evenness of areal density ($g/m^2$) of nonwoven fabrics were investigated. A coefficient of variation of gray values was used as an evaluation factor. In previous evaluation, the variation means the variance of weight in unit area. In this study, however, it means the variances of gray values obtained from the pixels on the fabric images. This research verified that the coefficient of variation of gray values was proper factor to evaluate the evenness of areal density of nonwoven fabrics.

        Poly(trimethylene terephthalate)/Cellulose 교편물의 전처리 및 염색에 관한 연구

        The effect of mercerizing, presetting and dyeing of single jersey poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT)/cellulose knitted fabrics were carried out. Pre-treating, dyeing, and finishing conditions were optimized to make uniform PTT/Cellulose knitted fabrics. The optimum conditions of the PTT/Cellulose knitted fabrics for mercerization were 22.5 wt% NaOH, $20^{\circ}C$ and 23 m/min of tenter speed. A cold-pad-batch (CPB) dyeing method could minimize process problems of high tension and rubbing in comparison with an ordinary exhaust dyeing method. Fastness was the best when the fabric was dyed at temperature of $105^{\circ}C$ and for 40 min. We resolved a tailing problem of the CPB process by controlling tenter speed and temperature.

        프레팅 조건하에 있는 증기 발생기 세관재의 스틱-슬립 영역별 마멸 메커니즘 규명

        Fretting is the oscillatory motion with very small amplitudes, which usually occurs between two solid surfaces in contact. Fretting wear is the removal of material from contacting surfaces through fretting action. Fretting wear of steam generator tubes in nuclear power plant becomes a serious problem in recent years. The materials for the tubes usually are Inconel 690 (I-690) and Inconel 600 (I-600). In this paper, fretting wear tests for I-690 and I-600 were performed under various applied loads in water at room temperature. Results showed that the fretting wear loss of I-690 and I-600 tubes was largely influenced by stick-slip. The fretting wear mechanisms were the abrasive wear in slip regime and the delamination wear in stick regime. Also, I-690 had somewhat better wear resistance than I-600.

        한국에서의 양극성장애, 정신분열병과 Borna Disease Virus와의 관련성

        본 연구는 대구, 경북지역에 입원치료 중인 양극성 장애와 정신분열병 환자들을 대상으로 BDV 감염여부를 RT-PCR과 Southern hybridization 방법을 이용하여 알아보았다. 연구 결과 41명의 정상 대조군에서 2명의 p24 양성, 3명의 p40 양성이 나타났다(12.2%). 41명의 양극성 장애환자들에서도 동일하게 2명의 p24양성, 3명의 p40 양성이 나타났다. 그러나 53명의 정신분열병 환자들에서는 3명의 p24 양성, 15명의 p40 양성, 및 p24, p40이 모두 양성인 경우가 1명, 총 17명이 BDV 양성으로 나타났다(32.1%). 정신분열병 환자 중 양성 및 음성증상군에서 각각 31명 중 10명(32.3%), 22명 중 7명(31.8%)이 양성으로 나와 양성과 음성증상군 사이의 차이는 발견할 수 없었다. 본 연구결과에 따르면 BDV는 양극성 장애보다 정신분열병과 더 연관성이 있다고 볼 수 있다. 또한 RT-PCR 산물을 유전자클로닝(cloning)하여 염기서열을 분석한 결과 점돌연변이(point mutaion)와 결손형돌연변이(deletion mutation)들이 나타났다. 특히 대부분의 점돌연변이가 모든 임상 검체에서 동일한 염기로 치환된 것으로 보아 참조한 BDV strain V와는 다른 고유한 strain으로 보인다. We studied on the Borna disease viral infection in the patients with bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, who live in Taegu City or Kyungpook Province, Korea by using sequence analyses of RT -PCR and Southern hybridization. As a result, among 41 normal control, 2 shows positive result for p 24 and 3 for p40(12.2%). Similarly, among 41 patients with bipolar disorder, 3 shows positive result for p24 and 3 for 40. But among 53 schizophrenic patients, 3 shows positive result for 24, 15 for p40, and 1 for both, which showed that total 17 patients were positive(32.1%). So, it seems that BDV is more related to schizophrenia than bipolar disorder. In this study, negative syndrome group (31.8%) in schizophrenics is similar to positive syndrome group(32.3%) in positive response to BDV. Besides, point mutations and deletion mutations were found by the sequence analysis of RT-PCR products. It seems that the BDVs isolated in Korea are peculiar ones which is different from strain V to which we referred, because most point mutations represented that the same bases were especially substituted in every clinical samples.

        Fretting is the small-amplitude oscillatory motion between two solid surfaces in contact. Fretting wear is the removal of material from contacting surfaces through fretting action. Fretting wear of steam generator tube in nuclear power plant is a serious topic in recent years. In this paper fretting wear tests were performed in water at room temperature. Fretting tests were done using Inconel 690 and 600 tubes under various applied loads. From the results of fretting wear tests, we get the fretting wear mechanism for Inconel 690 and 600 tubes due to stick-slip. The wear of tube material can be predicted by obtaining wear coefficient using the work rate model. This paper is useful to evaluate the wear characteristics of Inconel 690 and 600 for nuclear steam generator tubes.

        수도권 제2기 신도시 내 친환경 계획요소와 아파트 실거래가격간의 영향도

        국내의 대표적 친환경 도시 조성사례인 수도권 제2기 신도시 내에 입주한 4개권역 총 80개 아파트단지를 대상으로 아파트단지 내 정성적 친환경 계획요소(독립변수)가 정량적 아파트 실거래 가격(종속변수)에 미치는 영향도를 통계적 계량기법을 활용해서 실증 분석하였다. 기존 도시 및 건축학적 차원에서의 정성적인 계획요소 분류체계를 발전적으로 좀 더 확장하여 환경경제학적 차원의 정량적인 계량분석 방안을 모색하였다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 또한 실증분석 결과로 수도권 제2기 신도시 아파트단지에 도입된 친환경 계획요소가 아파트 실거래가격에 미치는 매우 비중있고 주목할 만한 경제적 유발효과를 실증적으로 확인할 수 있었으며, 특히 주목할 점은 신·재생에너지 도입 등최신 녹색신기술이 적용된 다양하고 차별화된 친환경 계획요소가 이미 보편화되어 아파트 실거래가격에 매우 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. Through Influence between the qualitative Environment-friendly Planning Elements (Independent variable) of eighty Apartment House on the four boundary areas in Metropolitan 2th Newtown as representative case of domestic Composition case of Eco-City and the quantitative deal price of Apartment House (dependent variable), it was analyzed empirically with use of the statistical measuring technique. This study has been meaning that it was groped the scheme of quantitative measuring analysis on environmental economics through the developmental extention for he classification system of the qualitative Environment-friendly Planning Elements on urban & architecture. And, As the result of empirical analysis, it was confirmed empirically that the economical induction effect was much more weight and worthy of notice through Environment-friendly Planning Elements in Metropolitan 2th Newtown influenced to the deal price of Apartment House, particularly it was found noticeable meaning that Environment-friendly Planning Elements of applicabled the green new techniqe like New & Renewable Energy were used already and it was influenced much to the deal price of Apartment House.

        외국어 교재로서의 『청어노걸대』에 대한 계량적 연구

        이 연구의 목적은 조선 후기 만주어 교재로 사용된 『청어노걸대』를 계량적으로 분석하여 『청어노걸대』가 전형적인 외국어 교재의 특성을 반영한다는 점을 확인하는 것이다. 본 연구는 『청어노걸대』에 나타나는 전체 어휘 항목의 유형(type)과 빈도(token)뿐만 아니라 권별 어휘 항목의 유형과 빈도, 외국어교재가 가지고 있는 어휘 반복률의 특성, tf-idf (term frequency-inverse document frequency) 등을 다각적으로 검토하였다. 『청어노걸대』 권별로 단어의 빈도(token)가 일정하게 유지되고, 유형(type)의 수도 대체로 일정하게 유지되는 점이 확인되었다. 일반적으로 외국어 숙달도가 높아지면 단어의 빈도가 일정하게 증가되고 단어의 유형도 급격하게 증가하는 경향에 비춰보면, 『청어노걸대』는 숙달도가 동일한 학습자가 학습하는 교재임을 알 수 있다. 또한 학습 부담량과 관련 있는 ‘어휘 반복률’은, 『청어노걸대』 권별로 평균 50%의 어휘 항목들이 반복되는 것으로 나타났다. 권별 어휘 유형의 연계가 잘 이루어지고 있음을 보여주고는 있으나, 권별로 새롭게 제시되는 어휘 항목의 비율은 〈권1〉에서 〈권4〉까지 일정하게 감소하다가 〈권4〉에서 〈권7〉까지 소폭 증가하고, 〈권8〉에서 다시 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 따라서 새로 제시되는 어휘 항목의 비율에서 보자면, 『청어노걸대』를 〈권1〉에서 〈권4〉, 〈권5〉에서 〈권7〉, 〈권8〉의 세 부분으로 구분해 볼 수 있었다. 마지막으로 『청어노걸대』를 권별로 나누어 tf-idf 를 측정한 결과, 각 권별로 tf-idf 가중치가 높은 단어들은 해당 권의 줄거리를 설명하거나 기술할 때 중요한 핵심단어들로 밝혀졌으며, 이는 새롭게 제시되는 어휘 항목과 관련이 있는 것이기도 하였다. 본 연구의 여러 증거들을 바탕으로 살펴보았을 때, 『청어노걸대』는 현재의 외국어 교재 관점에서 보더라도 전형적인 외국어 교재로서의 특성을 지니고 있다고 할 수 있을 것이다. This study quantitatively analyzed the Manchu textbook Chengenokeltay used in the late Joseon Dynasty and showed that it reflects the characteristics of typical foreign language textbooks. This study examined the type and frequency of the vocabulary words featured in the volumes of Chenge nokeltay, respectively, which are the lexical recurrency ratio of foreign language textbooks and Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency. The results of our study showed that each volume had a similar frequency and types of its vocabulary. Vocabulary frequency increases consistently while vocabulary variety increases rapidly as foreign language proficiency increases. Thus, this study’s results indicate that Chengenokeltay is a textbook for learners at a single proficiency level. The lexical recurrency ratio is related to the burden of studying. This ratio was approximately 50% in each volume of Chengenokeltay. Although some types of vocabulary are linked between volumes, the proportion of newly presented vocabulary decreases steadily from Volume 1 to Volume 4, then slightly increases from Volume 4 to Volume 7, and decreases again in Volume 8. Therefore, Chengenokeltay was divided into three parts in terms of the newly presented vocabulary ratio: Volume 1 to Volume 4, Volume 5 to Volume 7, and Volume 8. Finally, term frequency-inverse document frequency of each volume of Chengenokeltay showed that words with high values in Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency were important keywords that explained or described the volume’s organization. These values were also related to newly presented vocabulary. Based on this study’s results, Chengenokeltay can be said to be a typical foreign language textbook similar to today’s foreign language textbooks.

        프레팅 조건 하에서 스틱-슬립 현상이 마찰력에 미치는 영향

        Friction and wear characteristics between two steel surfaces under fretting condition are investigated experimentally. The fretting damage caused by low-amplitude oscillatory sliding can be classified into three regimes of gross-slip, mixed-slip and partial-slip due to stick-slip phenomenon. One of the most important characteristics of fretting wear is the transition from gross-slip to mixed-slip. This study was focused on getting the degree of stick-slip out of the friction transition under fretting condition. Fretting wear is divided into three conditions of gross-slip/mixed-slip/partial-slip. The criteria for the division are friction and displacement amplitude, wear scar morphology and dissipated energy. In this test, friction force and displacement were measured for detecting the transition from mixed-slip to gross-slip and qualitatively predicting the degree of the wear.
