It is possible to diagnose trans× scaphoid perilunar dislocation(TSPD) with simple anteraposterior and lateral roentgenograms, But, there are many cases in which we make a wrong diagnosis as simple scaphoid fracture or perilunar dislocation. Most of the 7 cases among the 11 cases who visited Seoul National University Hospital from 1981 to 1.987 were delayed 3 or more weeks because they were misdiagnosed as simple fracture, sprain or dislocation. It is important to identify the relationship of scaphoid with capitate or radius with simple lateral roentgerogran and we must suspect accompanying perilunar dislocation if there is rotationary deformity in scaphoid fracture. We consider open reduction and internal fixation is better than closed reduction as treatment of TSPD because scaphoid fracture is easy to displace due to instability of fracture fragments in most cases. And we also suggest it is better to try open reduction and internal fixation first than salvage operation as initral tratment of old fractures, if there is no osteoporosis and resorption of scaphoid fragment.

Cervical rib is a normal asymptomatic congenital bone abnormality that occurs in 0.4% of the population; 70% of these cases are bilateral. Cervical ribs are found incidentally on routine radiographs, though sometimes patients complain of a hard or pulsatile neck mass in the supraclavicular area. Although most of these ribs produce no symptoms and need no therapy, a few cases are symptomatic and require treatment. Furthermore, a cervical rib can displace the great vessels superiorly and may cause iatrogenic hemorrhage during neck surgery. Thus, otorhinolaryngologists should be aware of the diagnosis and management of this condition in patients with a neck mass. Here, we report three cases of cervical rib and include a review of literature.

This paper proposes an evaluation frame of MIS using critical success factor concept. Since concept of CSF was first introduced by Rockart, it has been put to practical use of research tool or methodology in the field of MIS. At the beginning, it was utilized in information requirement analysis and planning process. As its implied meaning, it has begun to be utilized in performance evaluation. There are many empirical researches as on relationship between MIS performance and CSF. Results of those studies show a close relationship between performance and CSF, furthermore, propose to use CSF for performance evaluation. CSF can be categorized into industry CSF, corporate CSF, sub-organization CSF, and individual CSF. By evaluating the degree that MIS reflects those CSF, effective use of MIS can be checked. Even though CSF of top management is different from objectives or strategies, it can be used as the evaluation factor for strategic use of MIS as well as the effective method supporting planning and control function of organization.
