        A Study on Antimicrobial Activity of Lysimachia clethroides Duby Root Extracts against Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

        Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a bacterium responsible for a number of infections inhumans that are difficult to treat, and as a result, is a substantial contributor to morbidity and mortality. In the present study,in search of natural products capable of inhibiting this multidrug-resistant bacterium, we investigated the antimicrobialactivity of Lysimachia clethroides Duby root. The antibacterial activities of EtOH extract of Lysimachia clethroides Dubyroot and its n-hexane, EtOAc, n-BuOH and water fractions were evaluated against 15 strains of methicillin-resistantstaphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and 1 standard methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) strain by using the minimalinhibitory concentrations (MICs) assay, colorimetric assay using MTT test, checkerboard dilution test. Antimicrobialactivity of n-hexane fraction of Lysimachia clethroides Duby root was remarkable. Against the 16 strains, the minimuminhibitory concentrations (MICs) were in the range of 31.25–62.5 ㎍/㎖ and FICI values for n-hexane fraction ofLysimachia clethroides Duby root+AM and n-hexane fraction of Lysimachia clethroides Duby root+OX were checkerboardmethod performed using the MRSA, MSSA and one clinical isolate strains via MICI 0.12-1 and 0.25-0.75, showing theincrease of synergistic effect. When combined together, these antibiotic effects were dramatically increased. These effectivecombinations could be new promising agents in the management of MRSA.

        韓國産 가지과 植物에 관한 本草學的 硏究

        For the purpose of developing Korean Herbalogy with the plants of Solanceae which grow wild and is planted in Korea, the these and writings on herbalogy, from literature of successive generations, have been throughly investigative and the results obtained were as follows: 1. There were totaled to 13 genera and 26 species in Korea and among them medicinal plants are 11 genera, 19 species, some 73% in total but, the number of species may be added because of the similiar plants. 2. According to the oriental names which can be used for medical purpose, the medicinal plants belonging to the Solanaceae family were classified as Radix 8, Fructus 8, Herba 6 ,Foilum 5, Semen 3, Lignum and Flos 2. 3. According to sum of 26 species in Solanaceae family, they were classified into Solanum genera 8, Physalis and Capsicum genera 3 each, Datura and Nicotiana genera 2 each. Thus it was noticed that Solanum genera was the main kind, some 30% in total. 4. According to the number of species of the origin plants about each chinese materia medicals, they were calssified into HERBA SOLANI LYRATI 3, FRUCTUS CAPSICI and FLOS DATURAE 2 each. 5. According to nature and flavour of medicinal plants, they were classified into cold, cool; 17 each,warmth,heat; 8 each, balance 5 and unidentified 6. Thus it was noticed that cold and cool is the main in nature and flavour of medicinal plants. 6. According to the Properties and Principal curative action, they were classified into Drugs for treating febrifugal and detoxicant 14, Drugs for relieving pain 7, Antitussives . Diuretics . Drugs for invigorating blood circulation. Tonics 4 each, Anthelmintics 3. 7. Comparing to whole medicinal plants 19 kinds, toxic drugs include minor toxin were 3 kinds, 16% of the whole. From this result, It was revealed that the plants for medical purpose in Solanaceae was 73% of the whole, in which RADIX and FRUCTUS were abundunt. It is considered that many experiments and clinical approaches must be continued to use Solanaceae plants widely.

        설계도서를 중심으로 한 설계품질 평가에 관한 연구 ( A Study on the Evaluation of Design Documents Quality )

        건설공사의 품질은 계획, 설계, 시공의 전 과정을 통해서만 이루어질 수 있다. 특히 설계단 계의 품질은 시공의 품질을 좌우하는 중요한 요소이므로 시공자체의 품질 못지 않게 철저히 관리되어야 한다. 그러나, 이와 같은 설계단계와 그 결과물에 대한 중요성에도 불구하고 현 재 국내 건설과정에서 이루어지는 품질관리는 주로 시공단계를 중심으로 행해지고 있으며 설계의 품질과 품질향상에 대한 연구는 매우 미비한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구는 설계품질 향상을 위한 기초연구로서 건설관련 품질관리 이론에 근거해 설계품질에 대한 정의와 중요성을 재조명하고, 현재 우리나라 건설공사의 설계품질을 객관적으로 평가해 보고자 하는 데 그 목적이 있으며, 이때 설계품질의 평가는 설계도면과 시방서 등의 사용자인 시공자 입장에서 수행하였다. 조사 결과 설계단계의 결과물인 설계도면과 시방서에 대한 전반적인 품질은 비교적 만족스럽지 못한 것으로 평가되었고 정보유형별로 보면, 설계도면의 도형정보에 있어서는 일반정 보의 일관성, 자재정보의 정확성, 시공정보의 시공성이, 그리고 비도형정보에서는 일반정보 와 자재정보의 일관성, 시공정보의 시공성이 취약한 것으로 나타났다. 또 시방서에서는 일반 정보의 편이성과 자재정보의 정확성, 시공정보의 시공성이 낮게 평가되었다. 이러한 결과는 설계자가 설계업무시 반드시 반영하여야 할 문제점들로서 설계도면과 시방서 작성시 설계부서간의 상호협조 및 정보교환, 관련자료의 데이터베이스화, 철저한 설계검토 그리고 전반적인 설계업무의 체계화 등에 의해 개선될 수 있으며 이러한 설계품질의 개선은 효율적인 시공활동과 시공품질 향상을 위한 시발점이 될 것이다.

        분꽃씨의 抗알레르기 效果에 대한 硏究

        This study was investigated the inhibitory activity of Semen Mirabilis (SM) (Nyctaginaceae) on type 1 immediate hypersensitivity of the anaphylactic type. 1 used a mouse model of passive cutaneous anaphylaxis, an IgE-mediated, mast cell-dependent reaction. Administered orally at 250, 500 ㎎/㎏ body weight 1 h before the challenge, SM was potently inhibited PCA in mouses in which disodium cromoglycate showed poor inhibitory activity. SM inhibited compound 48/80-induced anaphylaxis 94.21% with a dose of 0.5g/㎏ body weight at 1 h before or 5 and 10 min after injection of compound 48/80. SM (0.03-2.0 ㎎/㎖) also exhibited the dose-dependent inhibitory effect on compound 48/80-induced histamine release from rat peritoneal mast cells. Moreover, it was clearly demonstrated that SM and disodium cromoglycate disodium cromoglycate potently inhibited such type I allergic reactions as anaphylactic shocks, suggesting that these drugs, at least in part, share the same mechanism of action. It is suggested that SM may exert a stronger inhibition on the mast cell degranulation process. When I examined the effect of SM on the release of IgE in mouse spleen whole cells and human mycloma U266B1, the release of IgE is inhibited by Mirabilis jalapa L. These results suggest the possibility that the inhibition of allergic reaction by SM is regulated by histamine and IgE.

        The fretting corrosion experiment of Cu alloy contact is executed under room environmental condition. The variation of contact resistance with fretting cycle is observed. The simulation model of contact resistance variation under various oxide fractions is constructed with theoretical model. The copper oxide is assigned on the contact area with various fractions by the random distribution technique with finite element method. The calculated contact resistance at each oxide area fraction is compared with experimental contact resistance.

        Strength and Behavior of a Vertically Pre-tensioned Composite Rigid Frame Bridge

        In this study, a new type of composite rigid frame bridge is developed, and its feasibility was validated through a full-scale test. The core technology of the proposed bridge entails the introduction of prestressing force to steel girders by applying vertical prestressing to readily embedded high-strength steel bars at the pier wall. The proposed prestressed rigid frame bridge was designed to reduce the cross section and increase the girder spacing through distribution of moments. In order to analyze the feasibility of the proposed bridge, a full-scale test bridge was designed and fabricated, and the load test and the non-linear finite element analysis were subsequently performed on it. It was found that the proposed bridge effectively introduced preflexing through vertical prestressing, and its failure behaviors were gradual as a result of bending failure rather than sudden failure at the support.
