        Solid-State Ball-Mill Synthesis of Prussian Blue from Fe(II) and Cyanide Ions and the Influence of Reactants Ratio on the Products at Room Temperature

        This paper presents the solid-state synthesis of insoluble Prussian blue (Fe4[Fe(CN)6]3·xH2O, PB) in a ball mill, utilizing the fundamental components of PB. Solid-state synthesis offers several advantages, such as being solvent-free, quantitative, and easily scalable for industrial production. Traditionally, the solid-state synthesis of PB has been limited to the reaction between iron(II/III) ions and hexacyanoferrate(II/III) complex ions, essentially an extension of the solution-based coprecipitation method to solid-state reaction. Taking a bottom-up approach, a reaction is designed where the reactants consist of the basic building blocks of PB: Fe2+ ions and CN- ions. The reaction, with a molar ratio of Fe2+ and CN- corresponding to 1:2.8, yields PB, while a ratio of 1:6.6 results in a mixture of potassium hexacyanoferrate(II) (K4Fe(CN)6), potassium chloride (KCl), and potassium cyanide (KCN). This synthetic approach holds promise for environmentally friendly methods to synthesize multimetallic PB with maximum entropy in nearly quantitative yield.

        The present survey has analyzed the improvement of cardio-respiratory function in elementary school students after they were trained with a new jogging method suggested in this paper, of which results are as follows: (1) Jogging appears to improve the cardio-respiratory function more than other exercises do on elementary school students. (2) For effective improvement of the function, jogging should be sustained at least for 8 weeks with preplanned and scientific training method. (3) The improvement of the function shows no difference between the male and female students.

        A research analysis through questionaire on the living conditions and consciousness structure of the students in Kyungpook Physical High SchoolStudent has led to the following results: 1. The motives of the students entering the school are not their own choice but the encouragement or the persuasion of other people. This should be corrected in both personal and educational aspects. 2. About half of the students show much regret for their having entered the physical high school. A further analysis of their causes should be needed. 3. More than half of them are dissatisfied with their dormitory life. An immediate measure must be taken to remove their inconveniences. 4. The social intimacy among students appears to be very low. Their teachers/trainers should guide them with proper care in personal education as well as physical training. 5. The students are complaining of the dormitory food. The problem can be salved with an increse of the budget by authorities considering the fact that all of the students were selected as valuable players in their special events. 6. The students are also complaining of little or no ability of their teachers/trainers, which means that a more appropriate and valid standard in employing them is needed. 7. Many students have difficulties in continuing their athletic career due: to poor health condition and/or frequent injuries. So medical check-ups at regular intervals are necessary.

        I. Test Item 1. An object of study. - 102 students of middle girls school. 2. The items and event of measurement. 1) Physque Exam : Height, Weight, Chest Circumference, Sitting Height Abdominal Circumference. 2) Physical Fitness Exam : 50 Meter Dash, Standing Long Jump, Trunk Extention, Back Strength, Vital Capacity. II. Conclusion Five physical fitness items and five physique items were presented to 102 middle schoolgirls in order to measure physique fitness and to find out difference of physical fitness according to physique and present basic date of physique factorial physical fitness lead. 1. The disposition of physical fitness according to height of Group A revealed more high significant difference in trunk extention, back strength, vital capacity than Group B or C, but there was not significant difference in 50M dash and sitting long jump. 2. There was not significant difference in disposition of physical fitness according to weight in 50M dash and standing long jump and Group B revealed the best score in 50M dash and Group C showed the highest score in standing long jump. And Group A revealed prominently high significant levealin trunk extention, back strength, vital capacity. 3. There was not significant difference in disposition of physical fitness according to chest circumference in 50M dash, standing long jump, back strength between Group A, Group B, group C. But there was significant difference in trunk extention and vital capacity. 4. The disposition of physical fitness according to sitting height revealed no signify-cant difference in standing long jump and back strength, but revealed signify-cant Group A and Group C, and revealed significant difference in trunk extention between Group A and Group C, Group B and Group C and revealed significant difference in Group B, C. 5. The disposition of physical fitness according to abdominal circumference revealed no significant difference in 50M dash, standing long jump, back strength, but Group A revealed significant difference than Group C in trunk extention, vital capacity.

        The existing course of physical education in primary schools, being not practiced normally the function of children` instrumental exercise slumps and the aim of study of physical education is hardly achieved. The basic physical strength of children is enhanced, but many a child in poor progress of exercise is increasing. The purpose of this study to grope for ways to solve these problems and the result of them was concluded as follows: Firstly, the writer has approached perfect study and obtained excellent results in the guidance of children in poor progress of physical exercise by individual training according to ability in instrumental exercise and group guidance. Secondly, the writer has found that the selection-guidance of leader is in excellent results, and that the interest of instrumental exercise culminating, its function has increased rapidly. The basic physical strength of both boys and girls in 100m Running and Running long Lump has been enhanced remarkably. Thirdly, The relaton between the function of mechanical exercse and I. Q has turned out to be clear. And there is a little relation between the function of instrumental exercise and a series of physical strength, but the relation among them turns out to be superficial. The relation among the function of mechanical exercise and perfect indices of body proves to be little. Fouthly, Many a child in poor progress who is defect in character and inadaptable to the studying circumstances can be relieved, but it is difficult to relieve other factors.

        황기의 다당체가 큰포식세포로부터 일산화질소 생성유도

        Astragalus membranaceus is used as a natural herbal medicine in East Asia for preventing carcinogenesis and reducing side effects induced by chemotherapy in cancer patients. Although the mechanism of anti-tumor activity is not known, the polysaccharides may potentiate the host defense mechanism through the activation of immune system. The objective of this study is to investigate the mechanism by which APS activates macrophages. To analyze macrophage activation and iNOS gene expression, we performed nitrite generation assay, immunohistochemistry, and RT-PCR. In the present study we show that a polysaccharide isolated from the Astragalus membranaceus (Astragalus Polysaccharide, APS) significantly induces nitric oxide (NO). Immunohistochemical staining of inducible NO synthase (iNOS) showed that the increase of NO was due to the induction of iNOS production. To further study the mechanism responsible for the induction of iNOS, we investigated the effect of APS on the iNOS mRNA expression. RT-PCR analysis showed that APS produced significant induction of iNOS gene expression. In conclusion, we demonstrate that a polysaccharide isolated from Astragalus membranaceus stimulates macrophages to generate NO through the activation of iNOS gene expression. 황기 (Astragalus membranaceus)는 국내에서 오래 전부터 광범위하게 사용되는 식물 중의 하나로서 항암활성과 항암치료과정에서 발생하는 부작용을 완화시키는 작용이 보고되었다. 지금까지의 연구 결과 황기의 여러성분들, 특히 다당체가 면역증강활성을 나타냄이 알려져 있으나 그 작용기전에 대해서는 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 본 실험에서는 황기에서 추출한 다당체가 큰포식세포를 활성화시키는 기전을 밝혀내기 위하여 iNOS를 이용한 큰포식세포 면역형광염색을, iNOS mRNA의 변화를 보기 위한 RT-PCR을 실시하였다. 황기에서 추출한 다당체를 마우스 큰포식세포주인 RAW 264.7 세포에 24시간 처리한 결과, 용량의존적으로 NO 생성을 증가시켰다. iNOS에 면역형광염색을 실시한 결과, 세포질에서 소량 발현되던 iNOS 단백질이 APS를 처리한 후에는 다량 발현됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 RT-PCR을 실시한 결과 APS를 처리한 RAW264.7세포에서 iNOS mRNA의 생성이 용량의존적으로 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로, 황기에서 분리한 다당체의 작용은 iNOS 유전자의 발현을 통하여 일산화질소의 생성을 증가시키며, 이러한 큰포식세포의 활성화가 항암활성과 관련이 있는 것으로 사료된다.
