음악교육에 대한 새로운 연구가 활발히 일어나고 있는 현재에도 전국 교육대학원 음악교육 전공생들은 석사학위논문의 연구 과정에서 기존의 음악교육학 석사학위논문 경향 및 전반적인 분석과 통계, 체계적인 목록의 미비로 연구 방향 설정에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 특히 광주·전남 교육대학원 석사학위논문중 필요한 논문 목록을 찾고자 할 경우 학위 논문에 따른 적절한 통계자료가 없음으로 논문자료를 찾는데 어려움이 있다. 따라서 광주·전남 교육대학원 석사학위논문을 장르별로 목록을 작성하고, 논제 분석을 통하여서 여러 각도로 논문의 연구방향을 모색할 수 있도록 기본적인 문헌의 목록 및 기초적인 정보자료를 제공하려는 뜻에서 이 논문의 논제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 광주·전남 교육대학원의 교육현황, 교육목적을 통하여 이론적 배경을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 광주·전남 교육대학원 석사과정 논문을 14개 장르로 나누어 그 세부적인 내용을 살펴보았다. 셋째, 1983년부터 2002년까지 제출된 광주·전남 교육대학원 석사학위 논문들을 장르별 분석, 학교별 장르분석, 장르별 논제의 접근 경향분석을 각각의 표에 의하여 분석한 결과를 제시하여 광주·전남 교육대학원 음악교육학 전공의 논문경향을 분석하였다. 이와 같이 본 연구는 새롭고 선진적인 논문들이 끊임없이 발표되는 현실 속에서 본 논문의 자료를 참고로 보다 많은 연구를 통하여 광주·전남 교육대학원 음악교육 논문의 발전에 조금이나마 기여하는데 그 목적을 두고 더 나아가 음악 연구자뿐만 아니라 음악에 관심을 가진 모든 이들에게 참고자료로서 도움을 주고자 하며, 우리나라 논문 분석자료의 발전에 기여하였으면 하는 바램이다. It is desired that the preparation of the superintendence of the degree thesis related to music education shall become the good information data for Gwangju Jeonnam music education circles. In order for our music pedagogy field to be hardened as an academic learning, our study attitude should be progressive and creative to new theories, and ceaseless study and effort to study on the ultra-modern theories of foreign countries so that they can be ours. When such efforts continue, our music pedagogy shall hvae a firm foundation.
